  • A spatio-temporal models as systems of ODE which describe two-species Beddington - DeAngelis type predator-prey system living in a habitat of two identical patches linked by migration is investigated. It is assumed in the model that the per capita migration rate of each species is influenced not only by its own but also by the other one's density, i.e. there is cross diffusion present. We show that a standard (self-diffusion) system may be either stable or unstable, a cross-diffusion response can stabilize an unstable standard system and destabilize a stable standard system. For the diffusively stable model, numerical studies show that at a critical value of the bifurcation parameter the system undergoes a Turing bifurcation and the cross migration response is an important factor that should not be ignored when pattern emerges.

  • A direct numerical simulation (DNS) code suitable for the prediction of buoyant jet diffusion flames was developed in this study. The thermodynamic and transport properties were evaluated using CHEMKIN package to enhance the prediction performance of the developed DNS code. A two dimensional simulations were performed for the jet diffusion flames in normal and zero-gravity conditions where the Froude numbers are 5 and infinity, respectively. The simulated buoyant jet diffusion flame in normal gravity showed that the unsteady and dynamic motion although the reynolds number is low (400). It was identified that the flame in normal gravity flickered periodically. The periodic motion of the flame disappeared in zero-gravity condition. The dynamic motion of the buoyant jet diffusion flame could be well understood by comparing the flame structures obtained by the simulations of normal and zero-gravity conditions.

  • This study were predicted the corrosion threshold reached at steel reinforcement in latex modified concrete(LMC) which were applied the agricultural hydraulic concrete structures. Accelerated testing was accomplished to the evaluate the diffusion coefficient of LMC mix, and the time dependent constants of diffusion. Also, the average chloride diffusion coefficient was estimated. From the average chloride ion diffusion coefficient, the time which critical chloride contents at depth of reinforcement steel was estimated. Test results indicated that the corrosion threshold reached at reinforcement in LMC were effected on the mix proportion factor including cement contents, latex content, and water-cement ratio. Especially, the average chloride diffusion coefficient, the corrosion threshold reached at reinforcement in LMC were affected by the all mix proportion factor.

  • The properites of Zn-diffusion in III-V ternary alloy semiconductor $In_{1-x}Ga_{x}p$, which was grown by the temperature gradient solution (TGS) method, have been investigated. The composition, x, dependence of the Zn-diffusion coefficient at $850^{\circ}C$ and the activation energy for Zn-diffusion into $In_{1-x}Ga_{x}p$ were found to be $D850^{\circ}C$(x)= $3.935{\times}10^{-8}exp(-6.84{\cdot}x)$, and $E_{A}(x)=1,28+2,38{\cdot}x$, respectively. From this study, we confirm that the Zn-diffusion in $In_{1-x}Ga_{x}p$ was explainable with the diffusion mechanisms of the interstitial-substitutional, which was widely accepted mechanisms in the III-V binary semiconductors.

  • This article covers the fundamentals of stress-induced diffusion, focusing on the theoretical model for hydrogen transport through self-stressed electrode. First, the relationship between hydrogen diffusion and macroscopic deformation of the electrode specimen was briefly introduced, and then it was classified into the diffusion-elastic and elasto-diffusive phenomena. Next, the transport equation for the flux of hydrogen caused simultaneously by both the concentration gradient and the stress gradient was theoretically derived. Finally, stress-induced diffusion was discussed on the basis of the numerical solutions to the derived transport equation under the permeable and impermeable boundary conditions.

  • In the case of contacts between semiconductor and metal in semiconductor devices, they tend to be unstable because of thermal budget. To prevent these problems we deposited W-C-N diffusion barrier for preventing the interdiffusion between metal and semiconductor. The thickness of the barrier is $1,000{\AA}$ and the pressure is 3 mTorr during the deposition. In this work we coated LSMO (CMR material) on W-C-N diffusion barrier and then we studied the interface effects between LSMO layer and W-C-N diffusion barrier. We got results that the magnetic characteristics of LSMO thin film are still maintained after annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr because W-C-N thin diffusion barrier was prevented the diffusion of oxygen between LSMO and Si substrate.

  • We prove convergence properties of the global solutions to the cooperative cross-diffusion system with the intra-specific cooperative pressures dominated by the inter-specific competition pressures and the inter-specific cooperative pressures dominated by intra-specific competition pressures. Under these conditions the $W^1_2-bound$ and the time global existence of the solution for the cooperative cross-diffusion system have been obtained in [10]. In the present paper the convergence of the global solution is established for the cooperative cross-diffusion system with large diffusion coefficients.

  • Partially premixed diffusion system is analyzed using the matched asymptotic expansion technique adopting counterflow with supplying fuel and oxidizer from one side and fuel only from the other as a model problem. Results show that single-stage extinction always occurs as stretch increases, and the partially premixed diffusion flame can hardly exist. Depending on the initial mixture concentrations, either premixed or diffusion flame extinction leads to complete extinction of the system, and the diffusion flame can change its character to premixed flame such that two premixed flames can exist in the partially premixed-diffusion system.

  • Among emerging devices propelling the growth of mobile devices, smartphones and tablet-PCs are among the most recognizable. In this study, a research model is designed for exploring acceptance-diffusion strategies for tablet-PCs from the viewpoint of consumer perception, which is verified through a survey. The results of this study show that tablet-PCs have great potential to be versatile, multifunctional devices, even though they are currently considered mostly as entertainment-oriented rather than fulfilling the essential needs of everyday life. An analysis of the acceptance model for tablet-PCs revealed that playability, cost level, functionality, and complexity significantly affect user acceptance. An analysis of the diffusion model, on the other hand, showed that playability and user interface have a significant influence on satisfaction, trust, and positive behavioral intention. We also found that cost level is not a major hindrance in the market diffusion of tablet-PCs. The results of this study can be used to establish effective acceptance and diffusion strategies for tablet-PCs and other emerging devices.

  • Diffusion of non-professional flower growing in Korea still lags behind. The objectives of the study are to establish a theoretical modes to explain the diffusion of social floriculture, to identify some characteristics and problems of growing flower crops to cultivate amenities and emotions, and to suggest remedial measures for fostering it. Theoretical model adopted in this study consists of such variables as education, social movement, policies, diffusion of social flower growing, amenities, and emotional cultivation. For identifying the diffusion characteristics of flower growing, projects implemented by a non-governmental organization, schools, local and central government organizations were analyzed. In order to stimulate the diffusion of social flower growing and to increase its effects, there needs to strengthen education of stakeholders, establishment of partnership among schools, non-governmental and governmental organizations, and institutional supports including manpower and finances. Linking flower growing projects to community festival and tourism development programs can foster institutionalization of community flower growing. Furthermore, the introduction of wild, symbolic and traditional flowers and trees will help to specialize and improve community landscapes.
