cDNA microarray technology allows the monitoring of expression levels for thousands of genes simultaneously. Many statistical analysis tools become widely applicable to the analysis of cDNA microarray data. In this talk, we consider a two-way ANOVA model to differentiate genes that have high variability and ones that do not. Using this model, we detect genes that have different gene expression profiles among experimental groups. The two-way ANOVA model is illustrated using cDNA microarrays of 3,800 genes obtained in an experiment to search for changes in gene expression profiles during neuronal differentiation of cortical stem cells.

In this study, the optical porosity of $TiO_2$ films with helical structure deposited by glancing angle deposition (GLAD) were investigated. Helical films are of interest due to their ability to differentiate states of circularly polarized light. We designed and fabricated normal-incidence circular-polarization separator deposited by GLAD (Helical structure). The optical porosity of $TiO_2$ film deposited by helical method can be applied many optical coatings.

There are some similar phonological properties shared by different languages. The phenomenon of vowel length is just one of them which shows distinctive futures. In some languages long vowels serve to differentiate meanings. In that case the phonological context it creates is important and so it has to be incorporated into the phonemic inventory of the language, otherwise there will be misunderstanding. In this paper I will try to explain the Turkish vowel system as well as the Korean, and then to show how long vowels take their forms in Turkish and Korean.

This research studied the classification and meanings of symbols on the clothes of he Koran catholic priest. The results are as follows. 1) Symbol of religios spirits and values. - There are many spirits of crist which require to keep and meanings of innocence. 2) Symbol of status - served to symbolize the conscious change from earthy to ordaned man. 3) Symbol of role - differentiate between the role of priest and aid-priest. 4) Symbol of position(or rank) - indicate the position of priests in catholic church. 5) Symbol of situation. 6) Symbol of ritual ceremony - characterized the ritual ceremony.

In a specialized modern society and/or visual communication technique seems to be preferable to the traditional one-way communication technique which resorts to reading materials. P.R materials currently produced by various levels of Korean government administrative bodies seem to outdated and inefficient both in their contents and in graphic technique employed. In this paper we argue that the problems of the communication technique used by Korean government result mainly from the ambiguous nature of the message of P.R materials and the inability to differentiate the contents of P.R materials according to the target audience. We recommend various changes to the current government communication program and emphasize the importance of graphic communication technique for the production of more effective and professional communication materials

With the conventional CW Doppler velocity meter, bl-directional velocities cannot be separated. The new CW Doppler system uses quadrature detection and phase rotation to produce simultaneous independent audio and velocity signals for forward and reverse blood flow direction, is fabricated. Specially, this system shows that phase rotation method for flow direction separation provides easy and satisfactory feature. From in vivo blood flow measurement, we can easily differentiate typical artery flow from vein flow, and measure both velocity characteristics qualitatively.

The response spectrum has been widely used to differentiate the significant characteristics of earthquake ground motion and to evaluate the response of structures under ground shaking. Current design response spectrum is based on Seed, Ugas, and Lysmer's study. (1976) In this study, earthquake ground motion data sets adopted by Seed, Miranda, and Riddell is analyzed regards to soil types. And how earthquake data sets effected the design response spectrum is evaluated using acceleration-displacement response spectrum.

Pityriasis rosea in a 2-month old pig is described. Lesions were confined to the abdomen and groin. They consisted of raised, erythematous papules with distinct borders. Microscopic examination of the lesions revealed a nonspecific dermatitis with acanthosis, moderate infiltration of mononuclear cells and eosinophils in the upper dermis. The known occurrence of the disease will help differentiate the condition from other dermatoses.

Skin biopsy and staining the specimens with immuno-reactive markers has been proven to be a useful method to demonstrate the pathologic status of small nerve fibers. Quantification of intraepidermal nerve fiber density using anti-protein gene product 9.5 antibody is a standard method to diagnose small fiber neuropathy. Skin biopsy also makes it possible to differentiate the nerve fibers according to their function by using different markers. Quantification of dermal structures with different types of nerve fibers could reveal the pathophysiologic mechanism of the disease state.
