Tetradentate Schiff base ligands derived from 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and aliphatic diamine have been synthesized. Cu(Ⅱ) complexes of Schiff base ligands have been synthesized from the free ligands and copper acetate. The mole ratio of ligand to copper was identified to be 1:1 by the result of elemental analysis and Cu(Ⅱ) complexes were in a four-coordinated configuration. The electrochemical redox process of Cu(Ⅱ) complexes in a DMF solution has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, differential pulse voltammetry, and controlled potential coulometry. The redox process of Cu(Ⅱ) complexes is one electron transfer process in quasi-reversible and diffusion-controlled reaction. The electrochemical redox potentials and the kinetic parameters of Cu(Ⅱ) complexes are affected by the chelate ring of Schiff base ligands.

An ultrasensitive and selective stripping voltammetric scheme for the determination of rhodium is described. By the use of combined accumulation and catalytic effects in formaldehyde-hydrochloric acid medium, substantial improvement in the limit of detection can be obtained. Optimal experimental conditions were found to be 0.42 M hydrochloric acid solution containing 0.008${\%}$ formaldehyde, an accumulation potential of -0.70 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) and an accumulation time of 20 s. The stripping mode was differential pulse voltammetry. In these conditions the limit of detection lies at 2 ${\times}$ l0$^{-12}$ M (0.21 ppt). The relative standard deviation at 5 ${\times}$ l0$^{-11}$ M was 4.9${\%}$ (n=5). There were no serious interferences from other platinum group metal ions being the tolerable amounts more than 500 times that of rhodium.

The electrocatalytic oxidative behavior of an antiarrhythmic drug, procainamide hydrochloride (PAH) at the gold electrode surface has been examined using different voltammetric methods like cyclic, linear-sweep and differential pulse voltammetry. Voltammograms obtained in this study reveal that the electrode exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity towards oxidation of the drug. The parameters that can affect the peak current at different pH, scan rate and concentration were evaluated. The number of electrons transferred was calculated. The current displayed a wide linear response ranging from 0.5 to $30.0{\mu}M$ with a limit of detection of 56.4 nM. The impact of potential interfering agents was also studied. The electrode displayed wide advantages such as simple sample preparation, appreciable repeatability, reproducibility and also high sensitivity. Furthermore, the feasibility of the proposed method was successfully demonstrated by determining PAH in the spiked human biological sample.
In the presence of optimum amounts of hydroxylamine, trace ruthenium(III) can be conveniently determined in acidic (boric) media by coupling catalytic hydrogen processes with adsorptive accumulation of the catalyst, using differential pulse voltammetry. Cyclic voltammetry was used to characterize the redox and interfacial processes. Optimal experimental conditions were found to be a stirred borate (0.015 M, pH 2.5) solution containing 0.55 M hydroxylamine, a preconcentration potential of - 0.70 V, and a scan rate of 5 mV/s. With a 7 min accumulation period the detection limit was 3${\times}$10-10 M. The possible interferences by other platinum group metals are investigated.
This paper describes the simple fabrication of an electrode modified with electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO) for the simultaneous electrocatalytic detection of dopamine (DA), ascorbic acid (AA), and uric acid (UA). ERGO was formed on a glassy carbon (GC) electrode by the reduction of graphene oxide (GO) using linear sweep voltammetry. The ERGO/GC electrode was formed by subjecting a GO solution ($1mg\;mL^{-1}$ in 0.25 M NaCl) to a linear scan from 0 V to -1.4 V at a scan rate of $20mVs^{-1}$. The ERGO/GC electrode was characterized by Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, contact angle measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemical performance of the ERGO/GC electrode with respect to the detection of DA, AA, and UA in 0.1 M PBS (pH 7.4) was investigated by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and amperometry. The ERGO/GC electrode exhibited three well-separated voltammetric peaks and increased oxidation currents during the DPV measurements, thus allowing for the simultaneous and individual detection of DA, AA, and UA. The detection limits for DA, AA, and UA were found to be 0.46, 77, and $0.31{\mu}M$ respectively, using the amperometric i-t curve technique, with the S/N ratio being 3.
In this study, the optimum analytical condition of Differential pulse Voltammetry for the polymeric Sodium Alginate was studied and its reduction funtional groups were confirmed using Cyclic Vol-tammetry and IR spectroscopy. Optimum conditions were as followed; mercury drop size : medium size, accumulation time : 60sec, accumulation potential : -0.20V vs Ag/AgCl, scan rate : 100mV/sec, supporting electrolyte : 0.10M $NaClO_4$(pH 6.8). After polymeric Sodium Alginate was hydrolized at $100^{\circ}C$ in acidic condition, the current peaks of oligomer were compared with current peak of polymeric Sodium Alginate. In this optimum condition, calibration curve of polymer Sodium Alginate showed good linearity from 0.50ppm to 4.0ppm where as oligomeric Sodium Alginate showed good linearity from 0.05ppm to 0.24ppm.

The electrochemical reduction of ${\alpha},{\beta}$-dibenzyl N-benzylidene L-aspartate in 0.1M LiCl ethanol solution was investigated by direct current (DC), differential pulse (DP) polarography, cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry(CPC). The irreversible reductive amination of imino group proceeded to form ${\alpha},{\beta}$-dibenyl N-benzyl L-aspartate by CEC or CE electrochemical reaction mechanism at the first reduction step (-0.92 volts vs. Ag-AgCl). The polarographic reduction wave was slightly suppressed due to inhibitory effect of micelle, while the irreversibility was increased according to the increase of Triton X-100 concentration. Upon the basis of product analysis and polarogram interpretation with pH change, possible CE electrode reaction mechanism was suggested.
The simultaneous determination of Zn, Cd, Pb and Cu in 1.000%(w/v) tungsten matrix by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry at a hanging mercury drop electrode has been studied. Tartaric acid(pH=5.00) was used as a supporting electrolyte. Optimum analytical conditions were found that the deposition potential was -1.2 volt(vs. Ag/AgCl), the deposition time was 3 minutes. The linear concentration range of all trace metal ions in 1.000%(w/v) tungsten matrix were 10 to 50 ppb. And the detection limit(3${\sigma}$) of zinc, cadmium, lead and copper were 1.25, 1.02, 1.69, and 1.02 ppb respectively. This method was superior to the ICP-AES method which detection limits(3${\sigma}$) in 1.000%(w/v) tungsten matrix were 8.0, 5.0, 120 and 5 ppb respectively.
Electrochemical behavior of $Ln^{3+},$-ALC complexes($Gd^{3+},$$Tb^{3+},$$Dy^{3+},$$Ho^{3+},$$Er^{3+},$$Yb^{3+}$ and $Lu^{3+}$-alizarin complex-one) has been investgated by d.c polarography, differential pulse polarography and cyclic voltammetry. The reduction mechanism of ALC comes to the conclusion that the two electron make one step of reversible processes, and that there is few adsorption in the electrode reaction. The new complex is made from one lanthanide ion and one ALC. This complex is proven to make an adsorptive complex wave, by the experiments of differential pulse polarography and cyclic voltammetry. The reduction potential of complex wave($P_2$)turns up more negatively than ligand wave($P_1$) does. Linear calibration curves of the decreasing P1 and increasing $P_2$ is obtained when the lanthanide concentration varys from $2.5X10^5$M to $1X10^4M$.

1-Benzyl-4-iodomethyl-2-azetidinone(BIMA) was synthesized and its electrochemical reduction was investigated by direct current, differential pulse polarography, cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry. The irreversible two electron transfer on reductive dehalogenation of iodo group proceeded to form 1-benzyl-4-methyl-2-azetidinone by EEC electrode reaction mechanism at the first reduction step(-1.35 volts vs. Ag-AgCl). The polarographic reduction waves separated into two reduction steps due to anionic surfactant (sodium lauryl sulfate) effects, while the waves were shifted to the positive potential as the concentration of cationic surfactant (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) increased. Upon the basis of results on the product analysis and interpretation of polarogram with pH variable, EEC electrochemical reaction mechanism was suggested.
