Sixty semen ejaculates collected at weekly interval from four Murrah Buffalo bulls over a period of seven months (Nov.1999 to May 2000) were used in the present study. Three buffer medium (sodium citrate, TES and Tris) were used for soaking of sephadex. Three grades of sephadex (G-15,G-100, and G-200) were used for preparation of columns. Columns of three different height (one, two and three cm) were used for separation of semen. Twenty semen ejaculates were used in each project. In the first experiment each semen ejaculates was divided into four parts. One part was kept as control and other three parts were passed thought one cm column of sephadex G-15 prepared in three different buffers. There was significant (p<0.05) increase in percent progressive sperm motility and percent live spermatozoa and decrease in percent abnormal spermatozoa and percent spermatozoa with damaged acrosome as well as sperm numbers after filtration through all the three columns. Sperm quality obtained in the filtrate of column prepared in Tris buffer was better in comparison to other two buffers. So the Tris buffer was used in the second trial. Twenty semen ejaculates were used in this experiment. Each semen ejaculate was divided into four parts. One part was kept as control (non-filtered) and other three parts were passed through columns of different grade of sephadex (G-15, G-100 and G-200). Progressive sperm motility and live sperm percentage improved significantly while decline in percent abnormal spermatozoa and percent spermatozoa with damaged acrosome and sperm concentration was observed after filtration through all the columns as compared to control (non-filtered) semen. Since post filtration quality of semen was better in the sephadex G-100 column, therefore it was selected for the next experiment. In third experiment, Tris buffer and sephadex G-100 were used for preparing columns of different height (one, two and three cm) and twenty semen ejaculates were filtered. The quality characteristics of semen (percent progressive sperm motility, percent live spermatozoa and sperm concentration) after filtration through one cm column were significantly (p<0.05) higher than after filtration through columns of two and three cm height. However non -significant (p>0.05) difference due to height of columns was observed for percent abnormal and percent damaged acrosome but 1 cm column comparatively gave better result than of 2 and 3 cm column height.

The contents of free sugars, organic acids, amino acids, total carotenoids and pectin of pumpkin were analysed. Weight percentage of flesh was 84% of total weight. Rind and funicular attachment of seed were 10% and 3.5%, respectively. Major free sugars in pumpkin were fructose, glucose, sucrose. In flesh, fructose and glucose were the major free sugars, corresponding to 87% of total free sugars . Total sugar content in the flesh was three times higher than that in the funicular attachment of seed. Contents and composition of free amino acids were quite different according to the different parts of pumpkin. Non-volatile organic acids in pumpkin was malic, succinic and fumaric acid. The major acid in the flesh and funicular attachment of seed was malic acid and the contents in these parts were 85.2mg% and 226.5mg%, corresponding to 63% and 70% of the total organic acids, respectively. Eigh-tyseven percent of total carotenoids in the pumpkin was in the funicular attachment of seed, amounting 65.3mg%. However flesh and rind contained 6.6mg% and 3.3mg%, respectively. Water soluble pectin consisted 58% of the total soluble pectin in different parts of pumpkin, and soluble Pectin content was higher in funicular attachment of seed than in flesh. The major neutral sugars of the pectin in flesh and funicular attachment of seed were galactose and glucose consisting 45% and 36.5% of total neutral sugars.
Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.), one of the four major fiber crops, is attracting attention for its efficient CO2-absorbing ability and versatility for producing daily supplies, including textiles. In Korea, a new cultivar 'Jangdae' was established in 2013. The ease of cultivation and seed gathering of 'Jangdae' has led to its nationwide cultivation. However, evaluation of the bioactivities of the different parts of kenaf, and especially the 'Jangdae' cultivar, remains rudimentary. In this study, the antithrombosis and antioxidant activities of extracts prepared from different parts of the 'Jangdae' cultivar were evaluated by determining their effects on blood clot formation. Extracts prepared from seeds (HC-SD), seedpods (HC-SP), leaves (HC-L), stems (HC-S), and roots (HC-R) of the 'Jangdae' cultivar strongly inhibited blood clot formation. In particular, the HC-SD, HC-SP, and HC-S extracts showed strong inhibition against the coagulation factors prothrombin, and thrombin. The HC-SP extract showed strong antioxidant activities, such as scavenging ability against DPPH anion, ABTS cation, nitrite, and reducing power. Since blood clot formation is closely related to oxidative stress, the HC-SP extract could be developed as a novel anticoagulation and antioxidant resource. This is the first report of the antithrombosis activities of different parts of H. cannabinus L. cv. 'Jangdae'.

Plant engineering companies create or refer to requirements documents for each related field, such as plant process/equipment/piping/instrumentation, in different engineering departments. The process-related requirements document includes not only a description of the process but also the requirements of the equipment or related facilities that will operate it. Since the authors and reviewers of the requirements documents are different, there is a possibility that inconsistencies may occur between equipment or parts design specifications described in different requirement documents. Ensuring consistency in these matters can increase the reliability of the overall plant design information. However, the amount of documents and the scattered nature of requirements for a same equipment and parts across different documents make it challenging for engineers to trace and manage requirements. This paper proposes a method to analyze requirement sentences and calculate the similarity of requirement sentences in order to identify semantically identical sentences. To calculate the similarity of requirement sentences, we propose a named entity recognition method to identify compound words for the parts and properties that are semantically central to the requirements. A method to calculate the similarity of the identified compound words for parts and properties is also proposed. The proposed method is explained using sentences in practical documents, and experimental results are described.
Objective : Kyungakjeonsuh(景岳全書) is a general medical book written by Jang, Gaebin(張介賓). In this book, Maekshinjang(脈神章) written about Maek, has three parts: (1)Naegyung maekui(內經脈義); (2)Tongiljamaekui(通一子脈義); (3)various views of Maek according to different schools. Among these three parts, Tongiljamaekui is Jang Gaebin's view on Maek, which is also called Jungmaek 16parts(正脈16部), a summary of the existing theory of Maek. Method : The contents of this paper are Chesangshi(體狀詩), literally means Body and Condition and Joobyingshi(主病詩), literally means Major Ailment of Binhohmaekhak(瀕湖脈學), and Jungmaek 16parts of Maekshinjang, and the result of examination through comparing them. Result : The purpose of this paper is to indicate the characters of the theories of Maek written in Kyungakjeonsuh through comparing Jungmaek 16 parts and Binhohmaekhak written by Doctor Yi, Shijin(李時珍), which is the basic study of Maek. Conclusion : The major study sectors of Kyungakjeonsuh are (1) the summary of the existing Maeksang as 16 Maeks, (2) the new definition of Huh Maek(虛脈) and Shil Maek(實脈) and (3) the utilization of eight-class-demonstration(8綱辨證) with 6 Maeks (浮, 沈, 遲, 數, 虛, 實) as a general principle.
The B2B electronic product commerce needs intermediary system to provide an integrated interface for the parts libraries of multiple suppliers. However, it is difficult to automatically integrate the parts libraries because they are heterogeneous. Existing ontology-based approaches show a limited functionality of automated integration of information because Dey can not prevent ontologies from being modeled in different ways, so that the inter-ontology mappings to resolve the heterogeneity become complicated and arbitrary. In order to overcome such problems this paper proposes an ontology modeling framework for parts libraries based on the Guarino's theory of upper ontology. The framework provides knowledge modeling primitives which have explicit formal meanings and modeling principles based on ontological natures. Using the framework, ontology developers can model the knowledge of parts libraries systematically and consistently, so that the resulting ontologies become comparable and uniform and the ontology merging algorithm for the automated information integration can be easily developed.
It has been very important to have an exact evaluation for risk factors in order to prevent WMSDs(Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders). However, most WMSDs evaluation methods have always been some problems of possibilities associated with subjective evaluation. Therefore, this study tried to conduct a sort of usability analysis on three major evaluation methods(OWAS, RULA, REBA). Specifically, major subjects in the study consisted of three parts as follows; comparison of the results between experienced and inexperienced observers, analysis for the consistency of the results in terms of different evaluation times, and analysis for the consistency of the results in terms of different job characteristics(based on the part of the automobile). The results of the study were summarized as follows; 1) There was statistically significant difference of the results by RULA and by REBA between experienced and inexperienced observers. This might be due to the fact that experienced observers have had better ability to detect the important working posture during evaluation. However, the results by OWAS did not give any significantly different results between experienced and inexperienced observers, 2) All three checklists applied by experienced subjects did not show any single result significantly different in terms of different evaluation times. This might have to do with high intra-observer reliability from some of previous studies, 3) The five parts of an automobile were selected as five major jobs with different job characteristics in the automobile industry. Specifically, they were door part, front part(hood, etc.), inside part(dash board, seats, etc.), rear part(trunk etc.), and bottom part. All three methods did not show any significant differences for the results from each observers. Further study on this subject would eventually provide a sophisticated evaluating guidelines for WMSDs regarding determination of observer-specific evaluation, identification of repetitive number of evaluations for stable results for each checklist, determination of job-specific evaluation methods, and so on.
The plastic arts is used when designers draw inspirations to create fashion design. The author referred to fashion magazines for designing ideas of Mondrian's geometrical abstract painting in practical applications used by designers in Paris, Italy, London and New York during the 10-year period(1991-2000). The collections of data were analyzed as following: ◇ Fashion Designing Idea 1. Matching Idea The art is reproduced in the design as how it is with no transformation. First, the painting's complete figure is reproduced on the entire or parts of clothing. Second, the painting's partial figure is reproduced on the entire or parts of clothing. 2. Contrasting Ideas The composition elements in Mondrian's geometrical abstract painting, for example, structures of shapes, vertical and horizontal lines and different colors are applied in the design. First, one particular shape in painting is transformed into different shape of square, circle or triangle and reproduced in designing. Second, one particular shape in painting is disassembled and then reshaped into different form in reproduction. Third, additional lines are put in to create different look from the original painting. Forth, existing lines are extended over the boundary to create different look from the original painting. Fifth, achromatic colors: black and white, and three basic colors: red, blue and yellow in the original painting are modified into different shades or color scheme is increased in broad range.
The main objective of this study was to investigate the pattern of glucosinolates, in terms of 3-butenyl isothiocyanate, and total glucosinolates, in different parts of young seedlings and seeds in Korean Chinese cabbages. For determination of glucosinolates, 55 days and Winter pride cultivars of Korean Chinese cabbages seeds and different parts of 1, 3, 5, and 7-day-old seedlings were used for analytical sample preparation provided with an anion exchanges column, and measured by GC and UV-visible Spectrophotometer. The concentration of 3-butenyl ITC was higher in the cotyledon and the hypocotyl parts of 55 days cultivar seedling than those of Winter Pride cultivar. In the cotyledon parts of Winter pride cultivar seedling, 3-butenyl ITC amount was increase to 3-day-old seedling and then reduced. The cotyledon of 55 days cultivar contained the highest concentration of total glucosinolates while those were increased in the hypocotyl and decreased in the root. The level of total glucosinolates was increased to 5-day-old seedling and then decreased in the cotyledon and the hypocotyl parts of seedling in Winter pride cultivar. There was no significant difference of total glucosinolates in the root part. In the seeds, 55 days cultivar concentration was higher than Winter pride cultivar both of 3-butenyl ITC and total glucosinolates. In our study, the levels of 3-butenyl ITC and total glucosinolates depended on cultivars, growth stages, and parts in Korean Chinese cabbage.
To compare pork quality from different pig species domesticated for Korean consumers, the meat quality characteristics of 5 different pure breeds of Landrace (L), Yorkshire (Y), Duroc (D), Berkshire (B), and Chester White (C) were determined from the 3 parts of loins, butts, and bellies. The fat content of loins was higher in breed D than in the other breeds, while that of butts and bellies was higher in breed B. The CIE color $a^*$ and $b^*$ values of the loins and butts from breed C were lower than those of the other breeds, but the color values of the belly part did not significantly differ by breed due to the high fat accumulation. The drip loss and cooking loss significantly differed depending on meat parts: breeds D and B were inferior in loins and butts but superior in bellies. The lipid oxidation of raw meat did not increase during the 7 d storage. The cooked butts of breed C had less thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances values than those of the other breeds at 7 d, and the cooked bellies of breeds D and B had less. Moreover, there were only minimal differences in fatty acid compositions by pork breed and part. From the view points of the physicochemical and organoleptic analysis of pork from different pig species, it is estimated that breed D had better meat quality in the loin part and breed B had better meat quality in the butt. The belly meat quality of breed C showed the least value. Although the meat quality of pig species differed depending on the parts and it was difficult to compare the meat quality of a part using the meat quality parameters of another part, the result of this study could provide basic information that can be used to improve the meat quality of different parts of pig species.
