  • Helmet Mounted Display(HMD) has great advantages on the navigation and mission symbologies for the pilot's forward looking display and, therefore, has been remarkably drawing attention as the up coming display of the next generation aircraft. The essential technology to process the Line of Sight-Foward(LOS-F) data in real-time is to estimate exact helmet situation and position. In this paper, we research a acoustic helmet tracking technique. For the reason that mechanical acoustic noises might interfere with Helmet Tracking System(HTS) and unnecessary acoustic noises are inevitable when using acoustic technique, this approach has not been adapted. In order to overcome this problem. We propose that acoustic wave of which the wave length is longer than audio frequency and, especially, we used beating signal envelope which is composed of two close high frequency.

  • The causes of noise generation according to the classification of indoor spaces are very diverse. Individual happiness is infringed by this noise. In this paper, We tried to visualize the spatial sound characteristics of public places using sound color to express them so that anyone can sympathize. The noise inside a conference room of a medical device company was measured for 100 minutes, and the frequency band was divided into three different types of existing sound pressure expression units. Because the size of the noise is expressed differently depending on the situation, There are cases where there is a difference of opinion between the measurer and the researcher. This noise measurement experiment was conducted, and the sound color was applied to classify it on a log scale considering auditory characteristics. As a result of comparing this with the result expression for different loudness expression units, A specific table in different units yielded almost similar results. In addition, the sound source section for 100 minutes was divided into three analysis sections, the analysis sections were different, and the size of the energy ratio for each analysis section was divided in the form of an envelope. The characteristics of the low-frequency region of the space have a high energy ratio, and the decrease in the energy ratio according to the increase in frequency is constant and regular. You can see that conversations are possible.

  • This study poses a question on whether the Jangmadang Generation, which has been the focus of the sociological interest, can form an actual generation by transcending the social classes, status of students, ethnicity, and gender, etc. Therefore, in this study, the author compared the consciousness of the Jangmadang Generation in terms of politics, education, society, compliance with law, and education with their preceding generations. The data used in this study were gathered from the North Korean defectors who defected within the past five years over the period from November to December 2016. A total of 200 questionnaires were used for data analysis, which was conducted using SPSS 20.0, in order to show differences between groups and perform frequency analysis. The analysis results showed that the consciousness of the Jangmadang Generation in politics, society, compliance, and education was lower, while the economic consciousness was significantly higher compared to earlier generations. As their objective generational status, the Jangmadang Generation had experienced the 'March of Ordeal' and 'Collapse of Public Education' while they were still teenagers. Such a difference in their generational status influenced the formation of different consciousness as a generation compared to the earlier generations. Compared to the earlier generations who received 'proper public education,' the Jangmadang Generation, who did not receive 'decent public education' shows a generally lower level of consciousness compared to the earlier generations. As such, the Jangmadang Generation has the potential to form a separate generation with a different generation consciousness from that of earlier generations.

  • Both the frequency and the magnitude of hydrometeorological extreme events such as severe floods and droughts are increasing. In order to prevent a damage from the climatic disaster, hydrological models are often simulated under various meteorological conditions. While performing the simulations, a synthetic data generated through time series models which maintains the key statistical characteristics of the sample data are widely applied. However, the synthetic data can easily maintains both the average and the variance of the sample data, but the quantile is not maintained well. In this study, we proposes a data generation method which maintains the quantile of the sample data well. The equations of the former maintenance of variance extension (MOVE) are expanded to maintain quantile rather than the average or the variance of the sample data. The equations are derived and the coefficients are determined based on the characteristics of the sample data that we aim to preserve. Monte Carlo simulation is utilized to assess the performance of the proposed data generation method. A time series data (data length of 500) is regarded as the sample data and selected randomly from the sample data to create the data set (data length of 30) for simulation. Data length of the selected data set is expanded from 30 to 500 by using the proposed method. Then, the average, the variance, and the quantile difference between the sample data, and the expanded data are evaluated with relative root mean square error for each simulation. As a result of the simulation, each equation which is designed to maintain the characteristic of data performs well. Moreover, expanded data can preserve the quantile of sample data more precisely than that those expanded through the conventional time series model.

  • In submerged floating tunnels (SFTs), a next-generation maritime transportation infrastructure, the tunnel module floats in water due to buoyancy. For the effective and economical use of SFTs, connection with the ground is inevitable, but the stability of the shore connection is weak due to stress concentration caused by the displacement difference between the subsea bored tunnel and the SFT. The use of an elastic joint has been proposed as a solution to solve the stability problem, but it changes the dynamic characteristics of the SFT, such as natural frequency and mode shape. In this study, the finite element method (FEM) was used to simulate the elastic joints in shore connections, assuming that the ground is a hard rock without displacement. In addition, a small-scale model test was performed for FEM model validation. A parametric study was conducted on the resonance behavior such as the natural frequency change and velocity, stress, and reaction force distribution change of the SFT system by varying the joint stiffness under loading conditions of various frequencies and directions. The results indicated that the natural frequency of the SFT system increased as the stiffness of the elastic joint increased, and the risk of resonance was the highest in the low-frequency environment. Moreover, stress concentration was observed in both the SFT and the shore connection when resonance occurred in the vertical mode. The results of this study are expected to be utilized in the process of quantitative research such as designing elastic joints to prevent resonance in the future.
