The purpose of this research is to analyze how contemporary hairstyles are expressed based on the recurrence and non-recurrence of simulation. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1) Recurrence appeared as imitation which re-expresses the image of past hairstyles, change which borrows unordinary objects from previous hairstyles, and expansion which extends the volume in hairstyles. 2) For nonrecurrence, there were an absence of hairstyles which rid reality, a sub-culture as a disband of fixed perceptions, a combination with other genres, an ambiguity of hairstyles appearing as a fusion effect and a Kitsch phenomenon, an ambiguity of hairstyles where a totally different third image appears through dichotomy concepts combined.

Even with the sizable Foreign Exchange (FX) holdings and good credit ratings of its top assets, Asia remains vulnerable to various shocks. This paper highlights the limited cross-border asset pledgeability as a significant factor for the lingering vulnerability in Asia. The dichotomy in asset holdings between pledgeable FX and non-pledgeable domestic assets in major economies in Asia has been the source of increasing stabilization costs as well as weakened market momentum in the region. Specifically, the peculiar feature of asset holdings in Asia reflects seriously deficient cross-border asset pledgeability that is left unaddressed. Asset pledgeability contributes toward financial stability via three channels: 1) capital market development by recognizing the role of collateral, 2) increased shock absorption capacity via collateral management, 3) and the newly activated safe asset provision. Therefore, it is crucial to go beyond the usual market development strategy and expand the overall asset pledgeability in the region that has remained unduly depressed.

This paper is to analysis covering and exposing elements through surface in the spirit of the time through the meaning of relationship between structure and symbol(ornament) in the theory of dressing of Gottfrid Semper. In other words, The purpose is to illuminate how complementary tectonic between structure and symbolic of an architecture surface is expressed in accordance with the biased required conditions relating with the paradigm of the era. The advancement of the new method of tectonic and the new aesthetic taste have a deep relation with the reconsidering the dichotomy classification discussing a dominant position between structure and symbol(ornament). Expression of surface representing the era comes across the combined interpretation of technology, structure, and the non-physical culture's art of the community and the era.

Purpose: This study was performed to examine the knowledge of HPV in female university students. Methods: Participants consisted of 285 female university students(nursing major;153, others;132). A dichotomy with 20 items of HPV knowledge was developed by a researcher. Results: Reliability of the HPV knowledge tool was Cronbach' alpha .87, and Split-half Guttman coefficient .85. Correction rates of HPV knowledge by item ranged from 19.6 to 76.8%. There were no significant differences in HPV knowledge scores by major group or sex related characteristics. Conclusions: Accurate, university wide education regarding HPV knowledge for female university students should be done regardless of the major; nursing or not. Replication studies with different ages or sex groups and application of HPV education in relation to STI prevention and cervical cancer prevention are recommended.

Asian countries, ranging from China and Japan to Korea and Taiwan, differ in their industrial development stages to support the aerospace industry, and market access conditions. Despite these differences, all these countries target the aerospace industry as one of their future industries. The phenomenon challenges the conventional view that entry into the aerospace sector follows a gradual path from simple hanger repairs to license production, and to international collaboration. This paper reviews current status of the Asian aerospace with a dichotomy of the conventional promotion and Fast-Track promotion strategies. Analysis revealed that multiple entry points, in terms of technological level, exist in the aerospace industry, while the conventional thinking still holds validity. Then the paper presents potential obstacles and challenges these Asian countries would face in the promotion of the industry.

This paper examines how online product information changes the customers' purchase intentions from subjectivity-objectivity dichotomy perspective. Quality and Preference are proposed as product evaluation criteria and their marginal changes with product information differentiation are hypothesized. An experimental survey was conducted to 57 subjects and the hypotheses were partially supported through PLS path comparison method. The study contributes to IS research by proposing a simple and effective product evaluation framework and by abstracting the impact of product information from other factors. Finally, we suggest the utilization of product information with the optimization of the cost-benefit structure between information and purchase intention.

This paper discussed community ecological approach for Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Development(ESSD) and Sustainable Society(SS). Community ecology is composed of nature, environment and diverse species and is dynamic and sustainable system by interaction among those components. It is required long-term, integrating and eco-centric stances to achieve ESSD and SS such as eco-city and eco-village movements. This is integrated and complicated perspective beyond traditional dichotomy between human and environment. Community ecological perspective directs people toward ecological society system which creates and maintains adaptable life style under ecological situation in community. Building up eco-parts, eco-cites, eco-villages are crucial movements for promoting human's environmental living standards. These sustainable community movements require people to change their values and life styles suitable for their SS. It is required integrated and balanced perspective and participating endeavor of residents to maintain SS.

The purpose of this study is to revisit the property of the Korean plain stops in intervocalic position. More specifically, focusing on a word-internal, intervocalic position, this study investigates 1) how often speakers pronounce intervocalic. stops as fully voiced, 2) in what amount each speaker voice the plain stops during the stop closure, 3) whether the preceding or the following vowel influences the voicing of target consonants, and 4) the fundamental frequency pattern at the vowel onset after the target consonant shows any consistent pattern, regardless of whether voicing is present during the closure. The results of this study give strong support for the phonetic account of the voicing distinction in Korean. (Jun 1995, 1996).

This study investigated whether and how semantic nature of intransitive verbs can be related to the L2 overpassivization errors. A total of 126 Korean high school students participated in a grammaticality judgment test on English sentences in which seven semantically different types of intransitive verbs were passivized. The results showed that there was an effect of semantic type on the students' judgment on overpassivization errors. Overall, it was shown that the students experienced the lowest degree of difficulty with the Controlled Process-Motional type verbs while experiencing the high degree of difficulty with the Change of State, Existence of State, Continuation of Pre-existing State, and Uncontrolled Process types. Two interlanguage patterns were also identified: the students at higher proficiency level and those at lower-proficiency level showed distinctive patterns on the task. It was argued that the simple dichotomy of unaccusative-unergative distinction does not suffice for the explanation of the complex phenomenon of L2 overpassivization.

We present chemical and kinematic properties of the Milky Way's halo system investigated by carbon-enhanced metal-poor (CEMP) stars identified from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. We first map out fractions of CEMP-no stars (those having no over-abundances of neutron-capture elements) and CEMP-s stars (those with over-enhancements of the s-process elements) in the inner- and outer-halo populations, separated by their spatial distribution of carbonicity ([C/Fe]). Among CEMP stars, the CEMP-no and CEMP-s objects are classified by different levels of absolute carbon abundances, A(C). We investigate characteristics of rotation velocity and orbital eccentric for these subclasses for each halo population. Any distinct kinematic features identified between the two categories in each halo region provide important clues on the origin of the dichotomy of the Galactic halo.
