This study is concerned with the meandering of plume axis in oceanic waters. The process is understood that it is a consequence of the differential contribution by the multiple harmonics of local velocity field to variances of center of mass of crossplume as a function of distance from the source point. A diagnostic model is proposed which is aimed to delineate the eddying motions and furthermore the amplified meandering of plumeaxis. From the data base of dye plumes, wave lengths of meandering eddies are estimated to range between 5.5 to 60.3 (m) in coastal surface waters. A numerical simulation is conducted to predict the concentration field of meandering plume.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the influencing factors that affect the radiation protection behavior of nurses, by applying the educational diagnostic stage of the PRECEDE Model. Methods: Participants were 167 nurses working in interventional procedure rooms and operating rooms in general hospitals and university hospitals in Korea. Data were collected from August 30 to September 25, 2019, through self-reporting questionnaires and analyzed with t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. Results: The influencing factor that affects nurses' radiation protection behavior was the radiation protection environment (β=.41, p<.001), accounting for 59.6% of the radiation protection behavior (F=17.34, p<.001). Conclusion: Administrative and financial efforts to create a safe organizational atmosphere and establish a safe radiation protection environment are needed. Moreover, it is necessary to develop guidelines for nursing work in radiology to improve radiation protection behavior and reduce nurses' radiation exposure.

Identifying clinical pathways for disease diagnosis and treatment process recommendations are seriously decision-intensive tasks for health care practitioners. It requires them to rely on their expertise and experience to analyze various categories of health parameters from a health record to arrive at a decision in order to provide an accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations to the end user (patient). Technological adaptation in the area of medical diagnosis using AI is dispensable; using expert systems to assist health care practitioners in decision-making is becoming increasingly popular. Our work architects a novel knowledge-based recommender system model, an expert system that can bring adaptability and transparency in usage, provide in-depth analysis of a patient's medical record, and prescribe diagnostic results and treatment process recommendations to them. The proposed system uses a set of parallel discrete fuzzy rule-based classifier systems, with each of them providing recommended sub-outcomes of discrete medical conditions. A novel knowledge-based combiner unit extracts significant relationships between the sub-outcomes of discrete fuzzy rule-based classifier systems to provide holistic outcomes and solutions for clinical decision support. The work establishes a model to address disease diagnosis and treatment recommendations for primary lung disease issues. In this paper, we provide some samples to demonstrate the usage of the system, and the results from the system show excellent correlation with expert assessments.

CNC machine tool is assembled by central processor, PLC(Programmable Logic Controller), and actuator. The sequential control of machine generally controlled by a PLC. The main fault occured at PLC in 3 control parts. In LC faults, operational fault is charged over 70%. This paper describes diagnosis model and data processing for remote monitoring and diagnosis system in machine tools with open architecture controller. Two diagnostic models based on the ladder diagram. Logical Diagnosis Model(LDM), Sequential Diagnosis Model(SDM), are proposed. Data processing structure is proposed ST(Structured Text) based on IEC1131-3. The faults from CNC are received message form open architecture controller and faults from PLC are gathered by sequential data.. To do this, CNC and PLC's logical and sequential data is constructed database.

The most popular regression model for the analysis of time-to-event data is the Cox proportional hazards model. While the model specifies a parametric relationship between the hazard function and the predictor variables, there is no specification regarding the form of the baseline hazard function. A critical assumption of the Cox model, however, is the proportional hazards assumption: when the predictor variables do not vary over time, the hazard ratio comparing any two observations is constant with respect to time. Therefore, to perform credible estimation and inference, one must first assess whether the proportional hazards assumption is reasonable. As with other regression techniques, it is also essential to examine whether appropriate functional forms of the predictor variables have been used, and whether there are any outlying or influential observations. This article reviews diagnostic methods for assessing goodness-of-fit for the Cox proportional hazards model. We illustrate these methods with a case-study using available R functions, and provide complete R code for a simulated example as a supplement.

In order to determine the level of safety on highway driving, the relationship between the psychophysiological signal and driving condition was investigated. In particular, a Demand-Effort model was conceptualized and used in this study to diagnose the suitability of driving by reading the patterns of psychophysiological signals. To run the model, threshold values were determined to categorize the high, moderate and low level of effort. To examine the sensitivity of the model, a cross-validation process was performed by collecting additional data. Further investigation need to be conducted to improve the sensitivity of the model for practical application.
The objective of this study is to develop stochastic and deterministic models which could be used to synthesize water application time series. Adaptive models using mulitivariate ARIMA(Transfer Function Model) are developed for daily urban water use forecasting. The model considers several variables on which water demands is dependent. The dynamic response of water demands to several factors(e.g. weekday, average temperature, minimum temperature, maximum temperature, humidity, cloudiness, rainfall) are characterized in the model by transfer functions. Daily water use data of Kumi city in 1992 are employed for model parameter estimation. Meteorological data of Seonsan station are utilized to input variables because Kumi has no records about the meteorological factor data.To determine the main factors influencing water use, autocorrelogram and cross correlogram analysis are performed. Through the identification, parameter estimation, and diagnostic checking of tentative model, final transfer function models by each month are established. The simulation output by transfer function models are compared to a historical data and shows the good agreement.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of previously trained endodontists in the detection of artificially created periapical lesions using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and digital periapical radiography (DPR). Materials and Methods: An ex vivo model using dry skulls was used, in which simulated apical lesions were created and then progressively enlarged using #1/2, #2, #4, and #6 round burs. A total of 11 teeth were included in the study, and 110 images were obtained with CBCT and with an intraoral digital periapical radiographic sensor (Instrumentarium dental, Tuusula, Finland) initially and after each bur was used. Specificity and sensitivity were calculated. All images were evaluated by 10 previously trained, certified endodontists. Agreement was calculated using the kappa coefficient. The accuracy of each method in detecting apical lesions was calculated using the chisquare test. Results: The kappa coefficient between examiners showed low agreement (range, 0.17-0.64). No statistical difference was found between CBCT and DPR in teeth without apical lesions (P=.15). The accuracy for CBCT was significantly higher than for DPR in all corresponding simulated lesions(P<.001). The correct diagnostic rate for CBCT ranged between 56.9% and 73.6%. The greatest difference between CBCT and DPR was seen in the maxillary teeth (CBCT, 71.4%; DPR, 28.6%; P<.01) and multi-rooted teeth (CBCT, 83.3%; DPR, 33.3%; P<.01). Conclusion: CBCT allowed higher accuracy than DPR in detecting simulated lesions for all simulated lesions tested. Endodontists need to be properly trained in interpreting CBCT scans to achieve higher diagnostic accuracy.

Diagnostic tests often require the determination of cut-off values that discriminate uninfected from infected individuals. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve has been frequently used to attain this purpose and gives a representation of diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity and specificity) of a prediction model when varying the cut-point of a decision rule on a whole spectrum. We have written and tested a visual basic application program in EXCEL for maximum likelihood estimation of a binormal ROC curve, which also computes univariate statistics of a diagnostic test employed. Examples applying for computed tomographic images in radiology and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus research are given to illustrate this approach. This stand-alone module is available from the first author on request.

Leadership development corresponds to the focus on the individual's success and competitiveness strategy. This is the optimal direction of the organization of attitude development because it covers two aspects of the student's personality development, professionally-oriented and self-centric. The aim of the study is to identify and compare the leadership level in second-and fourth-year students to see dynamics of development and implementation of the leadership phenomenon in the professional and personal making up of future specialists. Based on the theoretical analysis of the issue, the authors developed an objective and subjective diagnostic model for leadership skills. In this study, data of the objective diagnostic technique are the key. Subjective diagnostic technique for leadership skills provides insights for problem interpretation. At the level of the first group of respondents, the average Leadership Skills Level of the second-year students was quite low and was found within the medium level. The second group of respondents consisting of the fourth-year students showed a slight but effective improvement. The Leadership Skills of this group were found at a sufficient level. Positive dynamics was revealed for all criteria of leadership skills as a result of applying objective diagnostic methods: decreased percentage of students with negative and relatively low markers of Leadership Skills Level and corresponding increase in percentage of applicants with positive markers of Leadership Skills Level. Further research can be organized in the direction of identifying and developing successful universal and professionally-oriented tactics for leadership development in students as part of attitude development.
