릴레이 접점 열화에 따른 바운싱 현상 분석 (Analysis of the Bouncing Phenomenon due to the Deterioration of the Relay Contact)

  • The relay used is gradually increased. Because it is possible to easily control the high voltage and current. Bounce phenomenon is generated in contact during operation relay. As the result, arc is generated at the contact, thereby shortening the contact lifetime. In this study, we analyzed the bouncing phenomenon due to deterioration. It can be seen from the experimental results, and it is minimized at about 100,000 times. Bouncing phenomenon to increase again after the minimization. Consequently, the bouncing related to contact weight and shape of contact surface.

전자접촉기 열화에 따른 전기적 특성 분석 (Analysis of Electrical Characteristics Due to Deterioration of Electromagnetic Contactor)

  • In this paper, the changes in the electrical characteristics (arc energy, contact resistance, and bouncing phenomenon) due to the deterioration of the contact are analyzed. The results are generally consistent and can be analyzed for contact deterioration. The results of the experiment demonstrate that the arc energy is linearly related to the current when the contact samples and the voltage conditions are the same. The contact resistance varies due to multiple factors, but is generally within a certain range, and the contact deterioration can be determined. Contact stabilization can be detected by the decrease in the bouncing phenomenon due to deterioration (the change of the shape of the contact).

도로 램프구간에 대한 파손형태 및 원인에 관한 연구 (Study of Deterioration Phenomenon and Causes in Pavement of Ramp Area)

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this paper is to understand the deterioration phenomenon and causes in the pavement of a ramp area. METHODS : Ramp areas need to be sloped because of the centrifugal force, which depends on the vehicle speed and grade of the ramp area. As a result, vertical and horizontal forces are applied on the pavement surface of the ramp area. Furthermore, the horizontal force depends on the vehicle speed and grade of the ramp area. In order to analyze the pavement structure of a ramp area, a multi-layered elastic analysis program was used to evaluate the weakest link of fatigue cracking deterioration, according to the simultaneously applied vertical and horizontal forces. RESULTS : From case studies related to the bonding conditions between the surface and base layer in a ramp area, it was found that the partially bonded cases resulted in a critical potential of fatigue cracking deterioration, in a comparison of 50%, 70%, and fully bonded cases. CONCLUSIONS : According to the results of the case studies, the pavement structure system should be reinforced by upgrading the material or increasing the thickness compared to the general pavement areas, in order to provide a performance life similar to the mainline pavements in the ramp areas.

  • Recently, the deterioration of reinforced concrete structures, primarily due to corrosion of steel reinforcement, has become a major concern. Chloride-induced deterioration is the most important deterioration phenomenon in reinforced concrete structures in harsh environments. For the realistic prediction of chloride penetration into concrete, a mathematical model was developed in which the effects of diffusion, chloride binding and convection due to water movement can be taken into account. The aim of this research was to reach a better understanding on the physical mechanisms underlying the deterioration process of reinforced concrete associated with chloride-induced corrosion and to propose a reliable method for estimating these effects. Chloride concentrations coming from de-icing salts are significantly influenced by the exposure conditions such as salt usage, ambient temperature and repeated wet-dry cycles.

  • 철도교량의 경우 교면방수 시공 후 방진매트, 궤도자갈 및 침목부설, 레일 설치 등의 후속공정이 뒤따르고, 시공 및 경제적인 여건으로 인해 위의 공정이 연속적으로 시행되지 못하고 일정 구간 단위로 후속공정이 이루어지는 특수성을 갖고 있다. 이로 인해 교면방수 시공 이후 표면의 노출이 장기화 되는 것이 불가피한 실정으로, 시간 경과에 따른 열화현상으로 인해 발수재의 분해 및 용출이 발생하여 방수시공 초기의 침투깊이를 유지하지 못하고 있는 경우가 많다. 이처럼, 철도교량이 갖고 있는 시공적인 특수성과 궤도자갈이 부설되지 않고 영구적으로 표면이 노출되는 부분을 고려한다면 표면의 장기적인 노출에도 방수성능이 저하되지 않는 내구성을 갖고 있는 방수공법을 선택하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 장기간 표면노출에 따른 열화현상을 방지하는 열화억제형 방수공법(DRA방수공법)에 대하여 시험시공을 통한 객관적인 분석 결과를 도출하고, DRA 방수 공법의 KNOW-HOW를 습득하는 것으로, 이를 통하여 철도교량의 교면방수 열화현상으로 인해 발생하는 하자를 방지하여 잦은 보수와 보강으로 인한 경제적 손실을 최소화하고 현장에서의 시공관계자들이 방수공법을 선정하는데 따른 합리적인 판단 기준을 제공하는데 있다.

평균 스위치 모델링에 의한 인버터의 온라인 열화진단기법 (An on-line Deterioration Analysis Method of Inverters using Averaged Switch Modeling)

  • This paper presents an averaged switch model for an on-line deterioration analysis of inverters. The model is based on the operational characteristics of power diodes and IGBTS. Switching loss mechanisms are described and divided into the diode reverse-recovery mechanism, the IGBT current-tailing phenomenon, the IGBT turn-on time, and the output capacitances of the IGBTS and diodes. The deterioration analysis parameters are derived from the averaged switch modeling and the parameters can determinate the deterioration of the inverters.

  • "Paradoxical deterioration" during antituberculous therapy is generally defined as the clinical or radiological worsening of pre-existing tuberculous lesions or the development of new lesions in a patient who initially improves. The phenomenon of paradoxical deterioration in intramedullary tuberculoma of the spinal cord is rare and is a less established entity. The authors present an unusual case of paraparesis as a result of paradoxical deterioration of intramedullary tuberculoma despite adequate antituberculous therapy. Here, we review the relevant literatures and discuss its possible pathogenic mechanisms.

  • In this study, the deterioration of concrete subjected to high temperature was evaluated using harmonics. When concrete is exposed to high temperatures, its mechanical properties deteriorate. In order to evaluate this deterioration, a method of analyzing the waveform of elastic waves was applied. As the heating temperature increased, the fundamental wave of the 50 kHz elastic wave passing through the concrete decreased. In addition, harmonics were generated at each temperature, and the higher the heating temperature, the greater the ratio of harmonics. The higher the compressive strength, the greater the amplitude of the fundamental wave, and this phenomenon is thought to be due to the internal structure of concrete.

Stochastic modelling and lifecycle performance assessment of bond strength of corroded reinforcement in concrete

  • Life cycle performance of corrosion affected RC structures is an important and challenging issue for effective infrastructure management. The accurate condition assessment of corroded RC structures mainly depends on the effective evaluation of deterioration occurring in the structures. Structural performance deterioration caused by reinforcement corrosion is a complex phenomenon which is generally uncertain and non-decreasing. Therefore, a stochastic modelling such as the gamma process can be an effective tool to consider the temporal uncertainty associated with performance deterioration. This paper presents a time-dependent reliability analysis of corrosion affected RC structures associated bond strength degradation. Initially, an analytical model to evaluate cracking in the concrete cover and the associated loss of bond between the corroded steel and the surrounding cracked concrete is developed. The analytical results of cover surface cracking and bond strength deterioration are examined by experimental data available. Then the verified analytical results are used for the stochastic deterioration modelling, presented here as gamma process. The application of the proposed approach is illustrated with a numerical example. The results from the illustrative example show that the proposed approach is capable of assessing performance of the bond strength of concrete structures affected by reinforcement corrosion during their lifecycle.

사면의 지반 열화로 인한 안정성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Stability due to Ground Deterioration of Slope)

  • 사면 구조물은 시간이 경과함에 따라 대상지반에서 각종 열화 현상이 진행되어 내구성의 저하로 인한 붕괴가 발생할 수 있으며, 사용 연한을 감소시키는 결과를 초래하게 된다. 이러한 지반 열화에 따른 사면안정에 대한 접근방안은 지반의 물리적 특성 및 기하학적인 구조에 국한하여 분석하는 기존의 한계 평형 해석과는 또 다른 개념이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 사면의 열화 특성과 관련하여 각종 문헌 조사를 통하여 비교분석을 수행하고, 전단강도 저감에 대한 최적의 제안식들로서 지수함수, 로그함수 및 역쌍곡선 함수를 제시하고, 열화에 취약한 양산 단층대의 셰일층에서 붕괴가 발생한 경부고속철도 절토사면을 대상으로 사례분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 사례분석을 통하여 향후 열화로 인한 사면 안전성과 관련하여 정량적인 평가를 위한 최적의 강도 저하 곡선을 도출하고 한계평형해석에 의한 안정해석을 할 수 있는 접근 방법을 제시하였다.
