  • The efficiency of active sonar that is used underwater observation equipment is important for obtain the information of topography and trace for the objects. Sound wave transmitted from sonar are distorted by acoustic window which is to protect sonar. Making various sonar dome is impossible for experiment, because consumed unnecessary time and expense. So, the purpose of this study is to simulate and analyze the acoustic window propagated sound wave from sonar for designing model reduced insertion loss. Simulation is performed by transient analysis and fluid-structure interaction analysis. As a result, this study will give a opportunity for efficient design of sonar dome without high cost and time consumption.

  • The increased use of online shopping by older consumers means that online retailers need to consider older consumers when designing websites. We investigated the specific characteristics of commercial websites (i.e., perceptual fluency) through an online experiment. Guided by perceptual fluency and affect optimization literature, hypotheses highlighting older consumers' responses to websites were proposed and tested. Results confirmed that older consumers (in their 50s) are more generous in evaluating online retailers' websites than younger consumers (in their 20s) and that responses to websites are dependent on perceptual fluency. The findings are consistent with previous research and provide additional support for theories that deal with an online apparel shopping context. Practical implications and limitations are discussed.

  • Testing device was newly designed and built to measure the dynamic contact angle. The measurement was made using microscope interfaced with computerized image analysis system while the dynamic condition being controled using Instron. As specimens for the experiment, two different types of fibers, i.e., hydrophilic and hydrophobic, were prepared. In case of hydrophilic fiber, the increase of twist level gave the increase of contact angle. However, in hydrophobic yarn the increase of twist level gave the decrease of contact angle. When saline was used as a telling liquid, the increase of the concentration gave the increase of contact angle. The results rationalized clearly on the basis of known concepts could be used in designing fabric structure for the improvement of comport performance.

  • Artificial environments and spaces developed in 20th century provided conveniences and comforts and developed spatial thoughts of interior design. But it caused significant environmental estrangement due to environmental disruption and materialism. This caused raising necessity of emotional design in human life spatial design as liberation of human nature is discussed and interest in emotion among human natures is being enhanced. This study manages how emotional design is expressed in basic area of human, residential area. Emotional design is proceeding to the direction designing interface between human and environment considering human physical and psychological characteristics focused on correlation between human and interior space. Therefore through this study, meanings and effects of design considering user emotions are reviewed to materialize expressing factors for combining into actual design.

  • A kinetmatic stirling engine with a domed heater was designed, fabricated and test. In designing and fabrication of the engine various problems were confronted and solved. Among various parts of the engine, cooler and main seal needed sophisticated techniques to fabricated in order to prevent leakage of working gas from the parts and to ensure their proper functions in the engine. The engine had a series of experiment at various working gas pressure, heater temperatures and engine speeds to evaluate its performance. Indicated and brake power outputs and indicated and brake thermal efficiencies were determined from the experimental data. The engine resulted a little inferior performance to that of the GPU-3 engine of which performance was well reported . Several recommendations were made to improve the performance of the engine during the evaluation of its performance.

  • This paper introduces a kind of new ink hue analysis system (HAS) based on the model-distinguishing technology and briefly casts light on the principle of the analysis. Also, it stresses the hardware structure, the software designing methods and programming procedure of the HAS as well as its interface. And the simulation result of the experiment data was given. The study shows that this kind of system can help to improve the color arrangements and managements of ink. The accuracy has reached ${\pm}0.5%$ compared with high precision density meter.

  • The efficiency and reliability of the dual-buck inverter (DBI) were greatly improved by eliminating the shoot-through problem and optimally designing the freewheeling diode. The traditional DBI suffers from large harmonic components with low output voltage and large capacity output filter inductor. To overcome the aforementioned disadvantages, a modified DBI (MBDI) was proposed by adopting a quasi-resonant link and pulse density modulation (PDM). This paper first introduces the working principle of the MBDI and PDM, and then the selection principle of system parameters is presented. Finally, a mathematical model of the MBDIis built, and an experiment prototype is set up. Simulation and experimental results verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis and the feasibility of the scheme.

  • Fitness sharing that shares fitness if calculated distance between individuals is smaller than sharing radius is one of the representative speciation methods and can complement evolutionary algorithm which converges one solution. Recently, there are many researches on designing neural network architecture using evolutionary algorithm but most of them use only the fittest solution in the last generation. In this paper, we elaborate generating diverse neural networks using fitness sharing and combing them to compute outputs then, propose calculating distance between individuals using modified Kullback-Leibler entropy for improvement of fitness sharing performance. In the experiment of Australian credit card assessment, breast cancer, and diabetes in UCI database, proposed method performs better than not only simple average output or Pearson Correlation but also previous published methods.

  • The amount of incident rays over inclination according to direction has been widely utilized as important data in installing solar thermal systems. To optimize the incident solar radiation, the slope, that is the angle between the plane surface in question and the horizontal, and the solar azimuth angles are needed for these solar thermal systems. This is because the performance of the solar thermal systems in much affected by angle and direction of incident rays. Recognizing that factors mentioned above are of importance, actual experiment on the moving route of the sun have been performed in this research to obtain the angle of inclination with which the maximum incident rays can be absorbed. After all, the standard for designing highly optimized solar thermal systems will be provided for designers and employees working in the solar collector related industries.

  • This article introduces technique to reduce harmonic by using the $5^{th}$ and $7^{th}$ harmonic tune filter and line reactor in the comparison to the technique of intervening firing method at the pulse of the 6-pulse phase-controlled converter in every 1/6 period. The design of the technique introduced in this article is to reduce the harmonic distortion of the current and the voltage resulted from three-phase thyristor phase-controlled converter. The waveform obtained from the experiment was analyzed on the spectrum of the current, voltage and the total harmonic distortion. The double firing method causes zero vectors of output voltage and input current. Designing the mechanism of the converter based on the idea of Park Vector Theory, the number of harmonic distortion in the intervening firing method were compared to those in normal firing method.
