  • Purpose - In hotel business, how to build the relationship between leader and employees is very important, because it affects on the customer satisfaction. Thus, this research examines the effect of authentic leadership on job performance in the context of hotel industry and identifies mediating roles of organizational engagement, job satisfaction, and creativity in the relationship between authentic leadership and job performance. This study suggests the guidelines for how hotel companies should improve employee productivity and build a desirable organizational culture by presenting employee attitudes and behavioral models that explain the relationship between leaders and employees. Research design, data, and methodology - This study examines the structural relationship between authentic leadership, organizational engagement, job satisfaction, creativity, and job performance from the employee's perspective. Authentic leadership divide into four sub-dimensions such as self-awareness, balanced process of informations, internalized moral perspective, and relational transparency. In order to test the purposes of this study, research model and hypotheses were developed. All constructs were measured with multiple items developed and tested in the previous studies. The data were collected from 114 franchise hotel employees and were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and Smart PLS 3.0. program. Result - The results of this study are as follows. First, authentic leadership have significant impacts on organizational engagement and creativity, but does not have impact on job satisfaction directly. Second, organizational engagement have significant impacts on job satisfaction and job performance, but does not have impact on creativity directly. Third, job satisfaction has significant impact on creativity, but does not have impact on job performance. Fourth, creativity has significant impact on job performance. Conclusions - The findings of this study indicate that hotel leaders should properly implement the authentic leadership and consider how to build a corporate culture to improve an organizational and employee productivity through authentic leadership. Due to the nature of the hotel industry, which relies heavily on human resources, hotel companies must manage their employees with authenticity in order to increase organizational engagement, job satisfaction, and creativity that affect hotel and employee productivity. If hotel employees perceive their leader's authentic leadership, they show more organizational engagement that increases creativity and leads to job performance. Finally, hotel employees can propose creative ideas only if they will be satisfied with their jobs. Therefore, the leader should develop non-monetary or monetary reward system for the employees and, make an efforts to foster creativity of the employees.

  • The Election paradigm can be used as a building block in many practical problems such as group communication, atomic commit and replicated data management where a protocol coordinator might be useful. The problem has been widely studied in the research community since one reason for this wide interest is that many distributed protocols need an election protocol. However, despite its usefulness, to our knowledge there is no work that has been devoted to this problem in a mobile ad hoc computing environment. Mobile ad hoc systems are more prone to failures than conventional distributed systems. Solving election in such an environment requires from a set of mobile nodes to choose a unique node as a leader based on its priority despite failures or disconnections of mobile nodes. In this paper, we describe a solution to the election problem from mobile ad hoc computing systems. This solution is based on the Group Membership Detection algorithm.

  • In this paper, a flight techniques many quadcopters which can be configured flexibly squadron according to the situation in wireless sensor networks is suggested. In previous studies, aircrafts fly only as part of a prescribed form and know the distance between the aircraft by sensor was able to maintain the fleet. Also, the problem occurs that between the aircraft distance is not constant. In this paper, proposes an algorithm that the context of the formation fly using the current position of the quadcopter through a virtual map is based on the relative coordinates without being affected by Indoor, outdoor and obstacles. Proposed algorithm is Leader-Follower Technique that the method of determinin the shape of the squadron to the down command to the sub-quadcopter using the wireless network by the main quadcopter to determine a given situation. As simulation result, the proposed algorithm was confirmed that formation flight efficient in sensing the all conditions as compared to the conventional method.

  • Wireless sensor networks consist of small battery powered devices with limited energy resources. Once deployed, the small sensor nodes are usually inaccessible to the user, and thus replacement of the energy source is not feasible. Hence, energy efficiency is a key design issue that needs to be enhanced in order to improve the life span of the network. In BCDCP, all sensors send data from CH (Cluster Head) and then to BS (Base Station). BCDCP works well in small-scale network but in large scale network it is not appropriated since it uses much energy for long distance wireless communication. We propose a routing protocol - Triangular Clustering Routing Protocol (TCRP) - to prolong network life time through the balanced energy consumption. TCRP selects cluster head of triangular shape. The sensor field is divided into energy level and in every level we choose one node as a gate node. This gate node collects data and sends it to the leader node. Finally the leader node sends the aggregated data to the BS. We show TCRP outperforms BCDCP with several experiments.

  • Purpose - This study examines the relationships between leader-member exchange (LMX), perceived fit, organization-based self-esteem (OBSE), corporate citizenship, work engagement, and employees' negative word-of-mouth (NWOM). In particular, it analyzes the effect of the interaction between LMX and corporate citizenship on OBSE, and the effect of the interaction between perceived fit and corporate citizenship on OBSE. Finally, this study analyzes moderated mediation by legal/ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship, and work engagement in the LMX-NWOM relationship and the perceived fit-NWOM relationship, respectively. Design/methodology - The research data were collected through a questionnaire from 293 employees working at 117 restaurant companies in Korea. Findings - The results were as follows. First, both LMX and perceived fit were negatively related to employees' NWOM. Second, both LMX and perceived fit were positively related to OBSE. Third, OBSE was negatively related to employees' NWOM. Fourth, legal/ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship were found to attenuate the positive (+) relationship between perceived fit and OBSE, respectively. Fifth, it was found that work engagement weakened the negative (-) relationship between OBSE and NWOM. Finally, OBSE was found to have a partial mediating effect moderated by corporate citizenship (legal/ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship) and work engagement in the relationship between perceived fit and NWOM. Originality/value - This study makes a theoretical contribution by expanding the mechanisms associated with LMX and NWOM by revealing the mediating effect of OBSE in their relationship. Additionally, this study makes a theoretical contribution in that it demonstrates the importance of enhancing legal and ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship by revealing the moderating effect of corporate citizenship in the relationship between perceived fit and OBSEE. Finally, it makes a theoretical contribution by suggesting that the interaction between work engagement and OBSE is important in reducing employees' NWOM by revealing the moderating effect of work engagement.

  • In this strip casting, size of the roll separating force is a index representing the solidifying status of the melt. Rolling forces at the start of the casting process can change abruptly due to the overcooling of the leader strip. This inconsistensy leads to machine damage or deficient solidification which results in the failure of the casting. In this study, a mathematical model is derived for the hydraulic servo pressure control system for the twin roll strip caster and its parameters are estimated by the RLS algorithm. Based on the identified model, an one-step ahead predictive control method is applied in order to minimize the transient fluctuation of the rolling force. Its simulation results are compared with those of the conventional PI controllers.
