RF Compatibility Analysis of GNSS and KPS Signals at L6/S-band

  • In order to develop a Korea Positioning System (KPS) as part of key national infrastructure, independent navigation signal design is essential. The designed signal candidates must coexist with existing or planned GNSS signals within the limited frequency band. This requires a RF compatibility assessment, which can be performed using the Spectral Separation Coefficient (SSC) and Effective Carrier to Noise Density Ratio (Effective C/N0), for navigation signals. Thus, in this paper, the analysis of RF compatibility between the designed signal candidates and the existing GNSS signals is carried out based on analytical and numerical techniques.

Chinese Female Consumers' Intention to Use Mobile Payment Services

  • Purpose - This study intended to investigate ways to influence on the Chinese female consumers' use of mobile payment services. For this purpose, this research investigated the relationships among security and compatibility of the mobile payment service, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, psychological benefit, and intention to use mobile payment. Research design, data, and methodology - This research developed a structural equation model in which the usefulness, the ease of use, and the psychological benefit are predictors and the intention to use is a dependent variable. Data were collected from China female in Jiangsu and Shandong province. Results - Empirical results showed that the security and the compatibility had a positive influence on the usefulness and the ease of use. The usefulness and the ease of use influenced on the psychological benefit respectively and the psychological benefit had a positive influence on the intention to use. Conclusions - This research contributed to the mobile payment service literature by showing how Chinese women consumers adopt the mobile payment service based on TAM. Moreover, current study introduced the security and the compatibility as antecedents of the usefulness and the ease of use and revealed the mediating role of psychological benefit. Managerially, theses results suggested retailing companies ways to influence on the Chinese female consumers' use of mobile payment services.

A Framework for Designing Closed-loop Hand Gesture Interface Incorporating Compatibility between Human and Monocular Device

  • Objective: This paper targets a framework of a hand gesture based interface design. Background: While a modeling of contact-based interfaces has focused on users' ergonomic interface designs and real-time technologies, an implementation of a contactless interface needs error-free classifications as an essential prior condition. These trends made many research studies concentrate on the designs of feature vectors, learning models and their tests. Even though there have been remarkable advances in this field, the ignorance of ergonomics and users' cognitions result in several problems including a user's uneasy behaviors. Method: In order to incorporate compatibilities considering users' comfortable behaviors and device's classification abilities simultaneously, classification-oriented gestures are extracted using the suggested human-hand model and closed-loop classification procedures. Out of the extracted gestures, the compatibility-oriented gestures are acquired though human's ergonomic and cognitive experiments. Then, the obtained hand gestures are converted into a series of hand behaviors - Handycon - which is mapped into several functions in a mobile device. Results: This Handycon model guarantees users' easy behavior and helps fast understandings as well as the high classification rate. Conclusion and Application: The suggested framework contributes to develop a hand gesture-based contactless interface model considering compatibilities between human and device. The suggested procedures can be applied effectively into other contactless interface designs.

COMS RF호환성 시험을 위한 RF지원 장비의 설계 및 제작 (Design of RF Supporting Unit for COMS RF Compatibility Test)

  • COMS RF호환성 시험에서 단일 동축 선로가 사용되도록 결정됨에 따라 서로 다른 주파수의 신호를 하나의 이동경로에서 교환될 수 있도록 하는 RF지원 장비가 필요하게 되었다. 이러한 RF지원 장비는 단일 동축 선로와 연동하여 정상운영에서의 위성과 지상국간의 경로손실을 모사 할 수 있어야 한다. RF지원 장비의 설계를 위해 우선 각 단품들의 측정데이터를 반영한 level diagram을 수행하였고 이로부터 위성과 지상국간의 통신환경을 적절히 모사 할 수 있음을 확인하였다. RF지원 장비가 조립된 후에 수행된 시험을 통해서 tunable attenuator를 이용하여 위성의 MODCS와 TC&R에서 요청한 input dynamic range 가 만족됨을 확인하였다. 현재 완성된 RF지원 장비는 향후 예정된 COMS RF 호환성 시험에서 사용될 것이다.

  • 멀티미디어 데이터를 위한 스트리밍 기술이나 차세대 기술로서 고려되는 유비쿼터스 관련 기술들의 급격한 발달로 네트워크를 사용하는 대용량 데이터 서버들이 증가하는 추세이다. 대용량 데이터의 전송에 있어서 TCP/IP 프로토콜의 처리는 CPU에 많은 부하를 야기시키며 이를 해결하기 위한 방안의 하나로 TOE 디바이스를 적용하고 있다. 하지만 기존의 TOE 지원 모듈의 경우, 해당 TOE 디바이스에 의존적인 인터페이스의 지원으로 인하여 기존의 네트워크 어플리케이션이 TOE의 잇점을 얻기 위해서는 해당 TOE 디바이스가 제공하는 인터페이스를 사용하여 기존 프로그램을 수정하거나 재 컴파일하는 과정을 수행해야 한다는 단점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 상기 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 표준 소켓 인터페이스에 대한 바이너리 호환성을 제공하는 TOE 지원 모듈의 설계 및 구현을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 TOE로 지원 모듈은 리눅스의 네트워크 프로토콜 레이어에 구현되며 기존의 네트워크 어플리케이션이 수정없이 TOE 디바이스의 잇점을 사용할 수 있도록 하고 일반 NIC과 TOE 디바이스의 동시 사용을 지원한다.

TSI 인증기준에 따른 유럽 표준형 자동복합연결기 헤드의 설계적합성 검증 연구 (A Study on the Verification of Design Compatibility for a Europe Type Automatic Coupler Head according to TSI Certification Standards)

  • 국내 철도안전법의 형식승인 제도는 2014년도에 시행되어 현재 차량분야부터 순차적으로 기술기준이 고시되고 있다. 형식승인 제도의 인증 대상품은 철도차량과 철도용품으로 구분되며, 형식승인 제도에서는 기존 인증제도와는 다르게 설계적합성 검증, 설계합치성 검증, 형식시험 검사의 순서로 설계에 대한 입증이 요구되고 있으며, 이는 TSI 인증 등 전세계의 인증 제도와 부합화된 내용이다. 본 연구에서는 유럽 표준형 자동복합연결기 시스템을 구성하는 하부시스템 중 연결기 헤드에 대하여 국내 철도안전법 형식승인 제도와 TSI 기준의 요구사항을 도출하고 그 중에서 설계적합성 검증 항목을 분류하였다. 분류된 34개의 설계적합성 검증항목 중 32개는 도면 및 기술검토서를 통해 검증하였으며, 분석이 필요한 2개의 항목에 대하여 연결범위 분석 및 강도해석을 수행함으로써 유럽 표준형 자동복합연결기 헤드가 국내외 기술기준 및 규격의 요구사항에 적합하게 설계되었음을 확인하였다.

Shear strength prediction of concrete-encased steel beams based on compatible truss-arch model

  • Concrete-encased steel (CES) beam, in which structural steel is encased in a reinforced concrete (RC) section, is widely applied in high-rise buildings as transfer beams due to its high load-carrying capacity, great stiffness, and good durability. However, these CES beams are prone to shear failure because of the low shear span-to-depth ratio and the heavy load. Due to the high load-carrying capacity and the brittle failure process of the shear failure, the accurate strength prediction of CES beams significantly influences the assessment of structural safety. In current design codes, design formulas for predicting the shear strength of CES beams are based on the so-called "superposition method". This method indicates that the shear strength of CES beams can be obtained by superposing the shear strengths of the RC part and the steel shape. Nevertheless, in some cases, this method yields errors on the unsafe side because the shear strengths of these two parts cannot be achieved simultaneously. This paper clarifies the conditions at which the superposition method does not hold true, and the shear strength of CES beams is investigated using a compatible truss-arch model. Considering the deformation compatibility between the steel shape and the RC part, the method to obtain the shear strength of CES beams is proposed. Finally, the proposed model is compared with other calculation methods from codes AISC 360 (USA, North America), Eurocode 4 (Europe), YB 9082 (China, Asia), JGJ 138 (China, Asia), and AS/NZS 2327 (Australia/New Zealand, Oceania) using the available test data consisting of 45 CES beams. The results indicate that the proposed model can predict the shear strength of CES beams with sufficient accuracy and safety. Without considering the deformation compatibility, the calculation methods from the codes AISC 360, Eurocode 4, YB 9082, JGJ 138, and AS/NZS 2327 lead to excessively conservative or unsafe predictions.

  • As the seriousness of environmental pollution being on a rise, a low carbon and environment-friendly design for energy efficiency has been issued. With respect to energy in the construction industry, an adoption of BIM which is possible for the various energy performance assessments in the early design phase has been actively working on. In the most cases of energy performance assessment, the data compatibility from the lack of standard software and format became a problem and the improvement for data compatibility system has been needed. This study is to develop the IFC based IDF converter as a middleware which connects between BIM software and energy analysis software. For the building energy performance assessment, Energy Plus and IFC are selected for the standard energy analysis software and its file format. Parameters are organized by steps and the integrated material library is built so it is trying to reduce the existing problem of energy software interface as much as possible. The development of IDF Converter will promote the spread of related fields with increasing the BIM standard and the utilization of energy performance assessment.

  • This paper presents NURBS skinning for the forebody of ship. NURBS skinning is guessed as a good method to generate the faired surface of ship forebody, but it is very problematic in real ship design to generate resonable surface of ship forbody using skinning, because there are lot of problem to apply skinning and to get reasonable surface. One of main problem is data arrangement with design data. Irregular serial contour data arise so serious compatibility problem of knot vector This paper suggests a whole process using skinning successfully in generating hull form of ship forebody This process includes how to make the data set for skinning and how to execute compatibility procedure.

  • 본 논문에서는 MIMO OFDM 기반 무선랜 시스템에서 다중 채널 추정을 위한 새로운 프리앰블 구조를 제안한다. 또한 기존의 OFDM 기반 무선랜 시스템인 IEEE 802.11a 시스템과의 호환성 문제와 더불어 프리앰블에 따르는 오버헤드 (overhead) 를 줄이는 방안을 함께 고려한다. 모의실험을 통해 제안한 프리앰블 구조가 적은 오버헤드를 가지면서도 좋은 채별 추정 성능을 얻음을 알 수 있다.
