This research was conducted to grasp the present condition of environmental management relating to Korea detector dogs that performed their duties such as detection and lifesaving. We directly conducted a survey throughout visit to five government agencies. In environmental management case, average length and width of kennels were 1.78 m and 3.50 m, respectively. Types of floor were searched as coating cement, tile, ucrete and concrete. Most of government agencies ventilated kennels using ventilation fan systems with natural ventilation. But there were differences between government agencies in frequencies of the sanitary management items. On the other side, major diseases of the German shepherd breed as a major detector dog were in order of arthritis, measles, earache, and dermatosis. And their daily training time was average 4 hours. Finally, it is thought that these results could be used as a basic data of standard breeding management manual of Korea detector dog.

Objective : The main purpose of this report is to investigate the effect of Korean traditional medical care about Pruritic Dermatosis Methods : The patient was treated with Acupuncture, herb medicine, Herbal-acupuncture. we evaluated the change of symptom through Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and photos of the skin Results : After 10 times of treatment, There was remarkable improvement in symptoms of the patient. Conclusion : We confirmed the superiority of Korean traditional medical care about Pruritic Dermatoses. We think that we must research effective remedy through many more case reports.

Background and Objective : Dyshidrotic Eczema is characterized by a pruritic vesicular eruption on the fingers, palms, and soles. It is an acute, chronic, or recurrent dermatosis. The causes of dyshidrosis are unknown. There are many treatments available for dyshidrosis including topical steroids but long term treatment of streoids may have side effects. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of Fulinggancao-Tang on Dyshidrotic Eczema. Methods : We have diagnosed the patients through the Shanghanlun six meridian patterns diagnostic system and we treated the patients with Fulinggancao-Tang. The severity of Dyshidrotic Eczema was evaluated by visual analogue scale(VAS). Results : After the treatment itching and vesicles of hands and foots were all disappeared in both patients. Conclusions : Fulinggancao-Tang have improved the signs and symptoms of Dyshidrotic Eczema case. It is considered that Fulinggancao-Tang is considerably effective on the treatment of skin disease that especially vulnerable to water.

The results of the study about comparison of Eastern-Western medicine on the Atopic dermatitis were as follows. 1. Atopic dermatitis is chronic eczematous dermatosis which have severe itching, characteristic eruption, easily occur region and pass on chronic relapsing progress and have family history of Atopic disease and hereditary disposition. 2. Atopic dermatitis assume an remarkable clinical aspect and it's diagnosis depends on family history and clinical symptom. 3. In all cases of Western medical treatment is nothing but a symptomatic treatment because can not find out certainly the cause of Atopic dermatitis. 4. Atopic dermatitis is belong to the category of the 'Naesun(내癬)', 'Taeryumchang(胎斂瘡)', 'Samanpoong(四灣風)' etc. in Oriental medicine. 5. The etiology and pathogenesis of Atopic dermatitis in oriental medicine are congenital defect(稟賦不足), internal accumulation of damp and heat(濕熱內鬱), improper diet(飮食不節), exogenous pathogenic factors(外邪侵襲), etc.. 6. The treatments of Atopic dermatitis in oriental medicine are thought effective clear up heat and remove dampness with febrifugal arld diuretic drug(淸熱利濕), invigorate the spleen to resolve dampness(健脾燥濕), nourish Um and blood to relave dryness(滋陰養血潤燥), etc..

애완토끼에서 털응애증은 가려움증과 비듬을 동반한 피부염을 유발하는 가장 흔한 외부 기생충이다. 본 연구에서 털응애에 감염된 총 32두의 애완 토끼에 imidacloprid 10% (w/v)와 moxidectin 10% (w/v) 합제 0.4ml를 적용하였다. 적용한 합제의 치료율은 4, 8 및 12주에 각각 100%이었으며, 부작용은 관찰되지 않았다. 본 연구에서 imidacloprid와 moxidectin 합제는 토끼의 털응애 치료에 효과적이었다.

A 7-year-old spayed female Shih-tzu dog with 4-month history of anorexia and weight loss was diagnosed with splenic hemangiosarcoma. One week after splenectomy, the dog developed severe, multifocal, coalescing erosive and ulcerative dermatosis with epidermal collarettes and crusts on the dorsal trunk. The dog was prescribed systemic antibiotics comprising cephradine and enrofloxacin postoperatively. Histopathological examination of skin biopsies from haired skin lesions revealed changes consistent with pemphigus foliaceus (PF). Tentative diagnosis for this patient was pemphigus-like drug reaction resulting from cephradine treatment. However, given the dog's history of hemangiosarcoma, paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP), a rarely reported cancer-related pemphigus in dogs, was also considered for tentative diagnosis. Significant clinical remission of dermal lesions was achieved with four weeks of prednisolone and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) treatment. Drugs were gradually tapered and eventually discontinued with concurrent reduction of dermal lesions, and no further recurrence was noted.

Background and Objective : Erythema nodosum-like lesions in patients with Behcet's disease is a reactive dermatosis that occurs in response to various stimuli, such as bacterial, fungal and viral infections, drugs and malignancies. We observed and treated a case of erythema nodosum-like lesions with Behcet's disease. We present this case because there were no former reports of erythema nodosum-like lesions with Behcet's disease treated by herbal medicine. Methods : The patient was a 28-year-old. The chief complains were erythema, nodose, edema, burning sensation, tenderness on both legs, forearms and feet, arthralgia and genital ulcers. She was treated with Wolbi-Tang for eleven days. We diagnosed the medication according to the results of manual abdominal examination of the patient. We used the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Results : After the treatment the grade of VAS was decreased and clinical symptoms were improved. Conclusions : Wolbi-Tang can be used on the treatment of erythema nodosum-like lesions with Behcet's disease.

Pyoderma gangrenosum is uncommon neutrophilic dermatosis characterized by richness of the mature neutrophilic polynuclear dermal infiltrate. Pyoderma gangrenosum is associated with variable diseases, most commonly inflammatory bowel disease, hematological diseases, malignancies, but it is reported rarely in rheumatoid arthritis. We report a case of pyoderma gangrenosum in rheumoid arthritis patient. A 50-year-old woman admitted to our hospital due to painful pretibial ulcerative skin lesions. She had been treated as rheumatoid arthritis for 8 years. At admission, body temperature was $36.5^{\circ}C$ and other vital sign was unremarkable. Physical examination revealed right pretibial ulceration, multiple pustules on left pretibial area and both palms. Laboratory studies revealed WBC count 7,600/uL (neutrophils 60.3%, eosinophil 3.2%), hemoglobin 11.4 g/dL, platelet count 319,000/uL, ESR 65 mm/hour. Other lab findings were also unremarkable. Skin biopsy was done, which showed dense dermal infiltrate of neutrophils and wound culture were negative. By 8 weeks after systemic high dose corticosteroid (1 mg/kg/day), cyclosporine A (5 mg/kg/day), sulfasalazine 2 g therapy, symptoms and skin ulceration were being improved. Without skin relapse, she is followed up our hospital with low dose corticosteroid and sulfasalazine.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop and activate the methods of using the arsenic compounds as the anti-cancer medicine. Methods: We investigated some literatures on the using methods, the effects for anti-cancer, and the toxicity of the arsenic compounds. Results: The results are summarized as follows. 1. As is the one of the nitrogen familIy(5A familly). 2. The Arsenic compounds which have been used as the one of the oriental medicine are the Arsenicum Sulbimatum($As_2O_3$) and the Realgar(AsS). 3. As+ 3 is more toxic than the other arsenic compounds. The fatal amount is 100-300 mg. So, it is used 1-5 mg/day as a medicine. 4. The Arsenicwn Sulbimatum($As_2O_3$) and the Realgar(AsS) are used after the heat treatment or the boiling with the acetic acid. 5. The gastrointestinal tract, vessel, and respiration are affected by the acute toxicity of the arsenic compounds. 6. The arsenic compounds are good for the dermatosis and the malignant cancer, especially the acute promyelocytic leukcrnia(APL). we should study the reason of these and the different effect in concentration, also develop new methods of using the the arsenic compounds as getting rid of their toxicity.

The objective of this study was to analyze the factors regarding work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in fruit-growers and offer the fundamental data for work improvement. The 587 fruit-growers (409 males and 178 females) working with 5 kinds of fruit: apple, pear, peach, grape, and mandarin participated in a questionnaire survey regarding MSDs and health condition in 2004 and 2005. The results are as follows: 1. Smoking rate was highest in apple growers. 2. Drinking rates were highest in male peach growers and in female grape growers. 3. Regular exercise rates were higher in pear and mandarin growers. 4. Physical and mental fatigue was higher in females than in males in most cases. 5. The prevalence rate of medically diagnosed diseases was highest for osteoarthritis (16.4%), herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP, 13.5%), and chronic gastritis/gastric ulcer (10.5%). As well as, the prevalence of dermatosis was higher in pear and mandarin growers. 6. The prevalence rate of musculoskeletal symptoms among the various pain areas was highest for lower back, shoulders, and knees. The prevalence rate was also high for lower back, shoulder, and knee pain in apple and grape growers. 7. The significant indexes used determining the musculoskeletal symptoms were BMI, working period, and regular exercise. These results can be practically used for work improvement for the fruit-growers to prevent MSDs.
