  • A method is proposed for the simultaneous optimization of several response functions that depend on the same set of controllable variables and are adequately represented by a response surface model (polynomial regression model) with the same degree and with constraint that the individual responses have the target values. First, the multiple responses data are checked for linear dependencies among the responses by eigenvalue analysis. Thus a set of responses with no linear functional relationships is used in developing a function that measures the distance estimated responses from the target values. We choose the optimal condition that minimizes this measure. Also, under the different degree of importance two step procedures are proposed.

  • Structured modeling provides a formal mathematical framework, language, and computer-based environment for conceiving, representing, and manipulating a wide variety of model. It provides a natural framework for integrated modeling owing to its explicit representation power for computational dependencies among submodles. Nevertheless, it doesn't seem to offer a systematic way of composing a structured model from submodels. In order to develop a systematic way, this paper discusses three key issues : (1) Genus structure for model composition, (2) Storage of structured models, and (3) Integration of structured models. To formalize and visualize the approach, a programming module is developed to implemented the step-by-step integration.

  • Semiconducting Barium Titanate shows resistivity anomaly near the transition temperature 120.deg. C. Its transition temperature decreases about 6-7.deg. C per 1 mole % SnO$_{2}$, which is likely to compose (BaSb) (TiSn) $O_{3}$ structure by making Sn$^{+4}$ ions occupy Ti$^{+4}$ ion sites. Grain boundories, whose existance is the cause of having high resistivity in Semiconducting BaTiO$_{3}$ disappear due to the spontaneous polarization below the transition temperature, and it is believed that the phase transition makes semiconducting BaTiO$_{3}$ have resistivity anomaly at certain temperature. Temperature and frequency dependencies of resistivity are also investigated for practical application.ion.

  • In this paper, a modified RBF(Radial Basis Function) network structure is suggested for the prediction of a time-series with non-linear, non-stationary characteristics. Coventional RBF network predicting time series by using past outputs sense the trajectory of the time series and react when there exists strong relation between input and hidden activation function's RBF center. But this response is highly sensitive to level and trend of time serieses. In order to overcome such dependencies, hidden activation functions are modified to react to the increments of input variable and multiplied by increment(or dectement) for prediction. When the suggested structure is applied to prediction of Macyey-Glass chaotic time series, Lorenz equation, and Rossler equation, improved performances are obtained.

  • Magnetic and transport properties in the ceramic specimen of L $a_{0.7}$S $r_{0.3}$Fe $O_3$ with orthohombic structure has been investigated. Weak ferromagnetism has been observed in a ceramic sample of L $a_{0.7}$S $r_{0.3}$Fe $O_3$. Large dielectric relaxation of Debye type is observed in paramagnetic states within the temperature range of 130K~200K. From the temperature dependence of the characteristic frequency, we concluded that the elementary process of the dispersion is related to holes hopping between F $e^{3+}$ and F $e^{4+}$ ions. The temperature dependencies of thermoelectric power and Dc conductivity suggest that the charge carrier responsible for the conduction are strongly localized. These experimental results have been interpreted in terms of a hopping process involving small polaron.n.laron.n.

  • The demand for Mobile Web Services has increased to overcome the issue of Mobile Application's platform dependencies and device resource's limitations. The method to improve productivity of the development and operation of the Mobile Web Services is to provide a low-coupling between Mobile Webs. In this paper, we propose the Recommendation Technique of dynamic Mobile Web integration to reduce the coupling. The Mobile Web Recommendation Technique is proposed based on XPDL.

  • Based on the facts that AZ31 magnesium alloy can be blow formed just like superplastic aluminum alloys and that most superplastic alloys fail by cavitation, the present study was undertaken to investigate the cavitation behavior of a fine-grained AZ31 sheet during blow forming at the elevated temperature. Other points of interest included the much lower strain rate and temperature dependencies of the magnesium alloy compared with conventional superplastic alloys. It was also aimed to find if cavitation in the AZ31 alloy can be suppressed by hydrostatic pressure, as is the case in most superplastic alloys. Interestingly, the application of hydrostatic pressure did not increase the blow formability of AZ31 sheet, even though it reduced the degree of cavitation. A possible reason for this behavior is discussed.

  • In this paper molecular dynamics simulations were employed to investigate the structural and dynamic properties of hydrogen ions impacted on the Ni (100) surface with the $45^{\circ}$ incident angle. The initial kinetic energies of the hydrogen ion range from 100 to 1,600 eV. Together with the trajectory visualization of hydrogen ions, we computed scattering and penetration yields, mean energies and angles, and probability and energy distributions as a function of longitudinal and azimuthal directions. In the case of lower energy scattering ions, the multiple collision effects were found to be important to the third layers or lower. For higher energy penetrating ions, compared with the normal incident angle, it was significant the effective channeling effects through the Ni layers and the angle dependencies were indicated both in the longitudinal and the azimuthal angle directions.

  • Using an exchange standard, we can design an open architecture for the interchange of decision models and data. XML (eXtensible Markup Language) provides a general framework for creating such a standard. Although XML -based model representation languages such as OOSML were proposed, they are partly limited in expression capability, flexibility, generality, etc. This paper proposes a new method for expressing and sharing decision models and data based on XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language), which is a XML language specialized in business reporting. We have developed a XBRL taxonomy for decision models with the concepts and relationships of a representative modeling framework, SM (Structured Modeling). The method allows for expressing data as well as decision models in a consistent and flexible manner. Diverse dependencies between components of SM models can also be affluently expressed.
