  • The purpose of the study was to examine the adolescents' awareness and practice of Dietary Action Guide for Adolescence, which was developed by the Ministry of Health & Welfare. Subjects were middle and high school students, selected one class each from all of the 16 provinces in Korea, which were 32 schools and 998 students all together. The subjects were asked to self-evaluate the degree of awareness and practice of Dietary Action Guide using the 5 point-Likert scale from July to September, 2010. On average, 55.1% of the students responded that they were aware of the Dietary Action Guide and 49.4% answered that they put Guidelines into practice. The average score of awareness and practice were $3.54{\pm}0.24$ and $3.42{\pm}0.33$, respectively. The awareness score was higher than those of practice score in all the questions in the 6 categories. Awareness score of female students was higher than those of male students but there was no difference by residence area. Awareness and practice of the nutrition education-experienced were higher than those of the inexperienced. Practice score was higher among middle school-students compared to high school students, which reflected the opportunity of taking nutrition related classes. This finding shows that nutrition education for adolescents is important to change their dietary behaviors regardless of gender, residence area and school level.

In the comparison, according to parental education level and family income, highly educated parents and high-income parents were more aware of both emotional abuse and neglect. Second, most of the parents agreed on the causes of child abuse presented in the survey except the cause of having an unexpected child. Third, most parents agreed on the necessity of parent education programs for child abuse prevention. The discussion for the results and strategies for child abuse prevention was provided.

  • The purpose of this study was to test the reliability and validity of the SART(Situation Awareness Rating Technique) tool to measure the situational awareness of patients with acute coronary syndrome. The translated SART was tested on 118 hospitalized patients with acute coronary syndrome to verify the reliability and validity of the tool. The analysis was conducted with Cronbach's alpha, exploratory & confirmatory factor analysis. Study findings found that the tool's reliability and model fit index improved when the two problematic items, namely, Situation Awareness 1 (Instability of Situation) and Situation Awareness 7 (Spare Mental Capacity) were removed. According to the results, the revised K-SART is deemed to be an appropriate method for assessing the degree of situational awareness of patients with acute coronary syndrome in decision making about treatment-seeking.

For the purpose of the study, 392 university students in Seoul, Chungcheong and Jeolla were selected. With the collected data, factorial analysis, t-test, frequency analysis, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis were performed through SPSS 21.0. First, according to personal characteristic and watching degree, there were differences in military image and security awareness. There were significant differences in rationality, coherence, familiarity, violence, authority among sub factors of military image and in perspective about policy towards North Korea, persepectives about North Korea, military threats of North Korea, security will among sub factors of security awareness. Second, military image of university students who watched 'Real Man' had an influence on security awareness. Military image had an meaningful influence on perspective about North Korea, military threats of North Korea, security will among sub factors of security awareness.

  • This research surveyed 324 college students majored dental hygiene in Gwangju and Chonnam province to analyze their awareness and degree of practice about infection control. Through the study for recognition about infectious disease related with the grade, the sophomore students are the group who is the most aware. In addition, the study shows students who experienced teeth cleaning have high degree of awareness (p<0.05). The research of perception about infectious disease based on experiences for vaccinations and education about infection prevention says hepatitis B has the highest rate when it comes to level of occurrence risk and tuberculosis and acquired immune deficiency syndrome are the lowest (p<0.05). According to the research, the group who had vaccination, knowledge about infection prevention and experience for scaling shows high practice rate for hand washing according to whether students receive protective inoculation or not. Depending on what the result were, since student learned about infection control has high degree of recognition and practice about infection management if we could emphasize the importance to students through regulative education about infection control and then increase the degree of practice, it would make big contributions to the effective infection control.

However those answers might need more precise information for each occasion. In addition, for the distinction between occupational therapy and other kinds(physical therapy, speech therapy, art therapy, play therapy, music therapy), 40.5% answered with "yes in some degree," but 19% with "no." Regarding the eligibility requirement for occupational therapist, 55% answered with "qualified with a licence." Conclusion : Active promotion will be required more focusing on the subject of occupational therapy, the meaning of occupation, the purpose and working places of occupational therapy, the difference from other therapies, and the qualification of occupational therapist.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the awareness of sexual harassment and the coping behavior of recipients of sexual harassment. This study also assesses the factors that influence the coping behavior of nursing students during clinical practice. Methods: For this descriptive study, data were collected from November 15 to December 15, 2017. Participants included 221 nursing students recruited from nursing colleges located in three different areas. Results: 22% of the participants answered that they had experienced sexual harassment. Regarding the type of attacker, the majority of attacker was patient (83.7%). The sexual harassment awareness level was $4.22{\pm}0.40$, the degree of coping for those who experienced sexual harassment was $2.99{\pm}0.38$. Among the coping behaviors, mitigation ($3.48{\pm}0.39$) was the highest. The factors influencing the coping behavior of recipients of sexual harassment were sexual harassment awareness (${\beta}=0.24$, p=.016) and satisfaction with preventive education (${\beta}=0.45$, p<.001). Conclusion: In order to make a safe clinical practice environment, it is necessary to develop a practical sexual harassment prevention program, as well as a reporting and support system for the nursing students. Such a program will help students clearly recognize the sexual harassment situation and increase their abilities to cope with sexual harassment appropriately.

  • Much controversy has been generated over whether the ecological restoration project in Korea is faithful to the basic approach of ecological restoration compared to projects aimed at creating parks or green spaces. This study was aimed at understanding the level of awareness of practitioners in the planting design method, which is recognized as relatively important in landscape architecture and ecological restoration. The proficiency of practitioners in planting design techniques for ecological restoration projects was investigated and analyzed in seven areas: overall planting design awareness, plant species selection method, planting tree sizes, planting density, use of native species, vegetation climatic zone, soil environment, and weed control. There was no statistically significant difference between the group who thought they were experts in the field of ecological restoration and the group who thought they were experts in the field of parks and green spaces. Moreover, there was no statistically significant difference between the degree of work performance, that is, the group whose main industry was ecological restoration, the group that performed relatively more ecological restoration work, and the group that rarely performed it. Therefore, to apply desirable ecological restoration techniques in the future and to clearly differentiate between the approach in the field of parks and green spaces, the appropriate tree size or planting density selected in the ecological restoration planting design stage must be chosen. To this end, the awareness of expert groups must be improved and related laws, systems, and guidelines must be revised.
