천연 암반 심해수 공급이 흰쥐의 면역반응 및 항산화 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Supply of Natural Water from Deep Sea Rock on the Immune Response and Antioxidant Activity in Rats)

  • 본 연구에서는 천연 암반심해수를 가축 음용수로 개발하고자 2.3% 염분을 함유하고, 칼륨(K), 마그네슘(Mg), 칼슘(Ca), 나트륨(Na), 철(Fe), 망간(Mn), 아연(Zn), 구리(Cu) 등의 광물질을 함유한 암반심해수를 0.5% 및 1%로 희석하여 흰쥐에 공급하며 면역 반응과 항산화 활성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 공시동물로 Sprague Dawley종의 수컷 흰쥐 24마리를 6마리 씩 대조군과 3개의 처리군으로 임의 배치하고, 대조군은 정제수를 급여하였고 처리군은 각각 0.5% 암반심해수, 1% 암반심해수, 지장수를 공급하여 4주 동안 사육하였다. 실험 결과, 1%의 암반수의 경우가 증체량 및 사료섭취량, 사료효율이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 총음수량은 대조군 보다 0.5% 암반심해수의 경우는 49%, 1% 암반심해수는 22.8%, 지장수는 40.5% 가량 더 많은 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 각 조직무게의 경우, 지장수군의 신장주위지방과 정소상체지방은 각각 32%, 25% 적은 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). B 세포와 T 세포 자극능은 처리군중에서 0.5% 암반심해수 급여군이 가장 높아 대조군보다 44.7%와 207% 증가한 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 또 0.5% 암반심해수가 혈청 내 triglyceride는 4%, Free fatty acid는 4%, LDL- cholesterol은 45.9% 감소시키는 등 지질성분 변화에 가장 긍정적인 효과를 나타내었다. 항산화 활성의 경우 TBARS의 양은 0.5% 암반심해수는 21.8%, 1% 암반심해수는 34.7%, 지장수는 20.8% 정도 감소하였다. catalase 활성은 0.5% 암반심해수가 약 2.9배, 지장수가 약 1.6배 증가하였으며, Cu/Zn SOD 활성은 0.5% 암반심해수,가 약 1.5배, 1% 암반심해수가 약 1.7배 ,지장수가 약 1.2배 증가하였으며, MnSOD 활성은 모든 처리군이 대조군에 비해 약간 증가하였다. 이상의 결과로부터 가축에 0.5% 암반심해수의 급여는 LDL 콜레스테롤의 농도가 감소되고, 면역 활성 및 항산화효소 활성이 높아지는 등 고급 축산물생산의 음용수로 유익할 것으로 고찰되었다.

문경지역 심부지하수의 수리화학 및 환경동위원소 연구 (Hydrochemistry and Environmental Isotope Studies of the Deep Groundwater in the Munkyeong Area)

  • The hydrogeochemical and isotopic studies on deep groundwater (below a 550 m depth from the ground surface) in the Munkyeong area, Kyeongbuk province were carried out. Two types of deep groundwater (${CO_2}$-rich groundwater and alkali groundwater) occur together in the Munkywong area. ${CO_2}$-rich groundwater (Ca-${HCO_3}$ type) is characterized by low pH (5.8~6.5) and high TDS (up to 2,682 mg/L.), while alkali groundwater (Na-${HCO_3}$ type) shows a high pH (9.1~10.4) and relatively low TDS (72~116 mg/L). ${CO_2}$-rich water may have evolved by ${CO_2}$ added at depth during groundwater circulation. This process leads to the dissolution of surrounding rocks and Ca, Na, Mg, K and ${HCO_3}$ concentrations are eniched. The low $Pco_2$ ($10^{-6.4}$atm) of alkali groundwaters seems to result from the dissolution of silicate minerals without a supply of ${CO_2}$. The ${\delta}^{18}O$ and ${\delta}^D$values and tritium data indicate that two types of deep groundwater were both derived from pre-thermonuclear meteoric water and have evolved through prolonged water-rock interaction. The carbon isotope data show that dissolved carbon in the ${CO_2}$-rich water was possibly derived from deep-seated ${CO_2}$ gas, although further studies are needed. The ${\delta}^{34}S$ values of dissolved sulfate show that sulfate reduction occurred at great depths. The application of various chemical geothermometers on ${CO_2}$-rich groundwater shows that the calculated deep reservoir temperature is about 130~$l75^{\circ}C$. Based on the geological setting, water chemistry and environmental isotope data, each of the two types of deep groundwater represent distinct hydrologic and hydrogeochemical evolution at depth and their movement is controlled by the local fracture system.

공주시 유구읍 명곡리지역 천부 및 심부지하수의 지화학적 수질특성과 오염 (Geochemical Water Quality and Contamination of Shallow and Deep Groundwaters in Myunggok-ri, Kongju)

  • The water-rock interaction and anthropogenic contamination affecting to geochemical composition of shallow and deep groundwaters were investigated in the agricultural area of Myunggok-ri, Kongju. The shallow groundwater is classified into the chemical types of $Ca-HCO_3$ and $Ca-Cl(SO_4)$ and shows weak acid having an average pH 6.2. Deep groundwater shows the uncontaminated composition of the chemical types of $Na-HCO_3$ and Na $(Ca)-HCO_3$ with pH of 8.4~8.8. The grouping approach of chemical data of waters shows the distinguished trend between water composition influenced anthrophogenic input and water composition mainly determined by natural process such as water-rock interaction. The main anthropogenic inputs affecting chemical composition of shallow groundwater are the contaminants such as $K^+$, $NO_3{^-}$, $Cl^-$ having average values of 4.4 mg/l, 22 mg/l, 13.7 mg/l, respectively. The contaminants were probably derived from fertilizer, sweage, septic tank, and stable, etc. The hydrogen and oxygen isotopic compositions indicate that five deep groundwaters were recharged from different altitudes, and that shallow and deep groundwaters were originated from meteoric water. Tritium contents of waters suggest that deep groundwater was recharged before or just after 1950s, and that shallow groundwater is much younger than deep groundwater. The results of this study may serve as a basic data for the future study of shallow groundwater as a drinking water in agricultural area, in Korea.

열적 수직 구조의 장기 변화로부터 유추한 동해 심층수 형성 모드의 변환: 1차원 모델 연구 (Mode Change of Deep Water Formation Deduced from Slow Variation of Thermal Structure: One-dimensional Model Study)

  • Recently, it has been observed in the East Sea that temperature increases below the thermocline, and dissolved oxygen increase in the intermediate layer but decrease below it. The layer of minimum dissolved oxygen deepens and the bottom homogeneous layer in oxygen becomes thinner. It emerges very probably that these changes are induced by the mode change of deep water formation associated with global warming. To further support this hypothesis, a one-dimensional model experiment is performed. First, a thermal profile is obtained by injecting a cold and high oxygen deep water into the bottom layer, say the bottom mode. Then, two thermal profiles are obtained from the bottom mode profile by assuming that either all the deep water introduce into the intermediate layer has been initiated, say the intermediate mode, or that only a part of the deep water has been initiated into the intermediate layer, say the intermediate-bottom mode. The results, from the intermediate-bottom mode experiment are closest to the observed results. They show quite well the tendency for oxygen to increase in the intermediate layer and the simultaneous thinning of the bottom homogeneous layer in oxygen. Therefore, it can be said that the recently observed slow variation of the thermal structure might be associated with changes in the deep water formation from the bottom mode to the intermediate-bottom mode.

Surface Water Mapping of Remote Sensing Data Using Pre-Trained Fully Convolutional Network

  • Surface water mapping has been widely used in various remote sensing applications. Water indices have been commonly used to distinguish water bodies from land; however, determining the optimal threshold and discriminating water bodies from similar objects such as shadows and snow is difficult. Deep learning algorithms have greatly advanced image segmentation and classification. In particular, FCN (Fully Convolutional Network) is state-of-the-art in per-pixel image segmentation and are used in most benchmarks such as PASCAL VOC2012 and Microsoft COCO (Common Objects in Context). However, these data sets are designed for daily scenarios and a few studies have conducted on applications of FCN using large scale remotely sensed data set. This paper aims to fine-tune the pre-trained FCN network using the CRMS (Coastwide Reference Monitoring System) data set for surface water mapping. The CRMS provides color infrared aerial photos and ground truth maps for the monitoring and restoration of wetlands in Louisiana, USA. To effectively learn the characteristics of surface water, we used pre-trained the DeepWaterMap network, which classifies water, land, snow, ice, clouds, and shadows using Landsat satellite images. Furthermore, the DeepWaterMap network was fine-tuned for the CRMS data set using two classes: water and land. The fine-tuned network finally classifies surface water without any additional learning process. The experimental results show that the proposed method enables high-quality surface mapping from CRMS data set and show the suitability of pre-trained FCN networks using remote sensing data for surface water mapping.

  • 동해 해양심층수의 자원적 안정성을 평가하기 위하여 2001년 3월부터 2002년 2월까지 조사한 해양조사 및 수질분석이 수행되었다. 해양심층수 시범개발해역 및 강원북부 주변해역에 대한 해양자원적 수질특성의 시공간적 변동이 분석 및 비교되었다. 특히, 자원성이 인증된 해양심층수의 안정적 공급을 위해 필요한 취수 수심의 결정을 위해 월별 수온 및 염분의 연직분포에 대한 조사해석 및 수질분석 이 이루어져 고찰되었다.

해양소재를 이용한 마스크팩의 유용성 : 피부재생효과 (Usefullness of Mask Pack Sheets Including Marine Materials: Skin Regeneration Effect)

  • Minerals from marine materials such as deep ocean water and Dead Sea water have been used since ancient times. We made a mask pack sheet including deep ocean water and salt from the Dead Sea and evaluated the function of the mask pack sheet through animal study. Three full-thickness skin defects were made on the backs of Sprague-Dawley rats. The wounds were left untreated in group Con, and mask pack sheets including deep ocean water or deep ocean water and Dead Sea water were used as treatment for 20 min on the skin of animals in groups DP and DDP, respectively. We analyzed the gross, histological and biochemical findings. Groups DDP and DP showed decreases in wound size, as compared to group Con at 7 days after wound infliction. The histological findings revealed that wound healing had progressed further in groups DP and DDP than in group Con, with more rapid collagen deposition and regression of neutrophils. Also, the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and transforming growth factor ${\beta}1$ were increased in groups DDP and DP compared with those in group Con at 3 days after wound infliction. Mask sheet packs including deep ocean water and Dead Sea salt affected wound healing by reducing the inflammatory phase and stimulated wound contracture by facilitating the deposition of collagen.

인삼과 토마토의 기능성 성분 증진을 위한 동해 해양심층수의 이용 (Use of East Deep Sea Water for the Increase of Functional Components of Ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) and Tomato (Lycopersicon eculentum L.))

  • 해양심층수의 처리에서 처리농도가 높아짐에 따라 대조구보다 작물의 생육이 떨어짐으로 과실의 생육과 수량은 감소한다. 평균 생체중은 전체적으로 양액 내 해양심층수의 농도가 높을수록 감소하는 경향이었다. 특히 1화방에 비하여 2화방의 생계중이 처리농도가 높아질수록 현저히 감소하였다. 과실의 고형물 함량은 심층수의 농도가 높을수록 증가하는 경향이었다. 제 1화방의 경우 10mM과 20mM 처리구에서 가장 많이 증가하였으나, 제 2화방의 경우 30mM과 40mM 처리구가 가장 많이 증가하였다. 토마토 과실을 구성하는 당은 glucose와 fructose가 대부분이었고 sucrose는 미량만 검출되었다. 과실 내 fructose와 glucose의 함량이 처리농도가 높을수록 줄어드는 이유는 심층수에 의해 생긴 염 스트레스에 의해 잎의 생육이 저하된 것에 기인한 것으로 보인다. 이 실험에서는 20mM 처리구의 라이코펜 함량이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났으며 무처리구와 나머지 처리구의 함량은 크게 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 심층수 처리는 염 스트레스로 작용하여 에틸렌 형성을 유도 및 촉진시켜 과실의 성숙이 빨라진 것으로 생각되었다. 해양심층수의 처리는 가용성 고형물 함량과 lycopene 함량을 높임으로써 토마토 과실의 품질에 효과가 있으나 생체중의 감소로 인한 생산량 감소가 생긴다. 이에 적정처리 농도인 20mM로 처리하였을 때 고품질의 과실 생산이 가능함과 동시에 생산량 감소를 최소화할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. 전체 ginsenosides 중 Re의 농도가 전 처리구에서 모두 가장 높은 함량을 차지하였으며, ginsenosides의 총함량은 EC 8 처리구를 제외한 전 처리구에서 대조구 보다 높게 나타났다. PT/PD의 값은 EC 8 처리구가 1.31로 가장 낮았고, EC 6 처리구가 2.52로 가장 높았으며, 나머지 처리구는 큰 차이가 없었다.

튀김유의 재사용에 의한 품질 특성: 전통 튀김기와 수유식 개량 튀김기의 비교 (Physicochemical Analysis in the Reuse of Deep-Frying Oil: Comparison of Traditional Fryer and Modified Fryer)

  • The property of deep frying oil is one of the important factors in fried food quality. The purpose of this study is to identify the quality of deep frying oil in continuous usages for 4 days by two types of fryers: traditional deep-fat fryer and modified oil-water fryer. After frying pork cutlets, the frying oil was kept not only for several physical analyses such as color, viscosity, and water content but also for the quality analyses of frying oil, such as free fatty acid, double bond changes and oxidative rancidity formation. The oil fried in a traditional deep-fat fryer was significantly increased in terms of physical values including moisture content, viscosity, and color, compared to those of the modified fryer, continuously for 4 days. The oil fried by a traditional deep-fat fryer exhibited a significant increase in its free fatty acid content compared to that fried by a modified oil-water fryer, while the iodine value was significantly decreased in the oil fried by a traditional deep-fat fryer when compared to control oil and oil fried by the modified oil-water fryer. In the peroxide value as an indicator of primary oxidation products, the oil fried by both fryers was significantly increased till the second day but decreased in value after the third day because of unstable hydroperoxide decomposition. The p-anicidine value is used as an indicator of secondary oxidation products, the oil fried in a traditional deep-fat fryer was significantly increased in value compared to that of a modified oil-water fryer.

  • Various merchandises have appeared in recent markets of mineral water, beverage, food and cosmetics etc. These are almost manufactured by adding raw seawater, desalinated water, brine or salt from Deep Ocean Water(DOW), and it intimated desalination and mineral extraction are key techniques for DOW business. This study aims to verify the functional performance of mineral-controlled water produced by the basic methods which were proposed by authors for industrial purposes. This water revealed the possibility of the radical scavenging effects and moisturizing capability.
