Diabetic retinopathy is a threatening complication of diabetes, caused by damaged blood vessels of light sensitive areas of retina. DR leads to total or partial blindness if left untreated. DR does not give any symptoms at early stages so earlier detection of DR is a big challenge for proper treatment of diseases. With advancement of technology various computer-aided diagnostic programs using image processing and machine learning approaches are designed for early detection of DR so that proper treatment can be provided to the patients for preventing its harmful effects. Now a day machine learning techniques are widely applied for image processing. These techniques also provide amazing result in this field also. In this paper we discuss various machine learning and deep learning based techniques developed for automatic detection of Diabetic Retinopathy.

Machine-learning systems have proven their worth in various industries, including healthcare and banking, by assisting in the extraction of valuable inferences. Information in these crucial sectors is traditionally stored in databases distributed across multiple environments, making accessing and extracting data from them a tough job. To this issue, we must add that these data sources contain sensitive information, implying that the data cannot be shared outside of the head. Using cryptographic techniques, Privacy-Preserving Machine Learning (PPML) helps solve this challenge, enabling information discovery while maintaining data privacy. In this paper, we talk about how to keep your data mining private. Because Data mining has a wide variety of uses, including business intelligence, medical diagnostic systems, image processing, web search, and scientific discoveries, and we discuss privacy-preserving in deep learning because deep learning (DL) exhibits exceptional exactitude in picture detection, Speech recognition, and natural language processing recognition as when compared to other fields of machine learning so that it detects the existence of any error that may occur to the data or access to systems and add data by unauthorized persons.

In Deep Learning method, it is well known that it requires large amount of data to train the deep neural network. And it also requires the labeling of each data to fully train the neural network, which means that experts should spend lots of time to provide the labeling. To alleviate the problem of time-consuming labeling process, some methods have been suggested such as weak-supervised method, one-shot learning, self-supervised, suggestive learning, and so on. In this manuscript, those methods are analyzed and its possible future direction of the research is suggested.

With the recent advancements of deep learning, companies such as smart home, healthcare, and intelligent transportation systems are utilizing its functionality to provide high-quality services for vehicle detection, emergency situation detection, and controlling energy consumption. To provide reliable services in such sensitive systems, deep learning models are required to have high accuracy. In order to develop a deep learning model for analyzing previously mentioned services, developers should utilize the state of the art deep learning models that have already been verified for higher accuracy. The developers can verify the accuracy of the referenced model by validating the model on the dataset. For this validation, the developer needs structural information to document and apply deep learning models, including metadata such as learning dataset, network architecture, and development environments. In this paper, we propose a description language that represents the network architecture of the deep learning model along with its metadata that are necessary to develop a deep learning model. Through the proposed description language, developers can easily verify the accuracy of the referenced deep learning model. Our experiments demonstrate the application scenario of a deep learning description document that focuses on the license plate recognition for the detection of illegally parked vehicles.

This paper discusses extended Kalman filter method for solving learning problems of multilayered neural networks. A lot of learning algorithms for deep layered network are sincerely suffered from complex computation and slow convergence because of a very large number of free parameters. We consider an efficient learning algorithm for deep neural network. Extended Kalman filter method is applied to parameter estimation of neural network to improve convergence and computation complexity. We discuss how an efficient algorithm should be developed for neural network learning by using Extended Kalman filter.

Steganalysis & steganography have witnessed immense progress over the past few years by the advancement of deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN). In this paper, we analyzed current research states from the latest image steganography and steganalysis frameworks based on deep learning. Our objective is to provide for future researchers the work being done on deep learning-based image steganography & steganalysis and highlights the strengths and weakness of existing up-to-date techniques. The result of this study opens new approaches for upcoming research and may serve as source of hypothesis for further significant research on deep learning-based image steganography and steganalysis. Finally, technical challenges of current methods and several promising directions on deep learning steganography and steganalysis are suggested to illustrate how these challenges can be transferred into prolific future research avenues.

Recently, deep learning technology has become those methods as de facto standards in the area of medical data representation. But, deep learning inherently requires a large amount of training data, which poses a challenge for its direct application in the medical field where acquiring large-scale data is not straightforward. Additionally, brain signal modalities also suffer from these problems owing to the high variability. Research has focused on designing deep neural network structures capable of effectively extracting spectro-spatio-temporal characteristics of brain signals, or employing self-supervised learning methods to pre-learn the neurophysiological features of brain signals. This paper analyzes methodologies used to handle small-scale data in emerging fields such as brain-computer interfaces and brain signal-based state prediction, presenting future directions for these technologies. At first, this paper examines deep neural network structures for representing brain signals, then analyzes self-supervised learning methodologies aimed at efficiently learning the characteristics of brain signals. Finally, the paper discusses key insights and future directions for deep learning-based brain signal analysis.
Deep learning has recently demonstrated conspicuous efficacy across diverse domains than traditional machine learning techniques, as the most popular approach for pattern recognition. The classification problems for tabular data, however, are remain for the area of traditional machine learning. This paper introduces a novel network module designed to tabular data into high-dimensional tensors. The module is integrated into conventional deep learning networks and subsequently applied to the classification of structured data. The proposed method undergoes training and validation on four datasets, culminating in an average accuracy of 90.22%. Notably, this performance surpasses that of the contemporary deep learning model, TabNet, by 2.55%p. The proposed approach acquires significance by virtue of its capacity to harness diverse network architectures, renowned for their superior performance in the domain of computer vision, for the analysis of tabular data.

Facial action units (AUs) have recently drawn increased attention because they can be used to recognize facial expressions. A variety of methods have been designed for frontal-view AU detection, but few have been able to handle multi-view face images. In this paper we propose a method for multi-view facial AU detection using a fused multilayer, multi-task, and multi-label deep learning network. The network can complete two tasks: AU detection and facial view detection. AU detection is a multi-label problem and facial view detection is a single-label problem. A residual network and multilayer fusion are applied to obtain more representative features. Our method is effective and performs well. The F1 score on FERA 2017 is 13.1% higher than the baseline. The facial view recognition accuracy is 0.991. This shows that our multi-task, multi-label model could achieve good performance on the two tasks.

Wind speed data constitute important weather information for aircrafts flying at low altitudes, such as drones. Currently, the accuracy of low altitude wind predictions is much lower than that of high-altitude wind predictions. Deep neural networks are proposed in this study as a method to improve wind speed forecast information. Deep neural networks mimic the learning process of the interactions among neurons in the brain, and it is used in various fields, such as recognition of image, sound, and texts, image and natural language processing, and pattern recognition in time-series. In this study, the deep neural network model is constructed using the wind prediction values generated by the numerical model as an input to improve the wind speed forecasts. Using the ground wind speed forecast data collected at the Boseong Meteorological Observation Tower, wind speed forecast values obtained by the numerical model are compared with those obtained by the model proposed in this study for the verification of the validity and compatibility of the proposed model.
