In this paper we study the no-wait or no-idle permutation flowshop scheduling problem with an increasing and decreasing series of dominating machines. The objective is to minimize one of the five regular performance criteria, namely, total weighted completion time, maximum lateness, maximum tardiness, number of tardy jobs and makespan. We establish that these five cases are solvable by presenting a polynomial-time solution algorithm for each case.

In this paper, we prove the discrete Hardy inequality through the continuous case for decreasing functions using elementary properties of calculus. Also, we prove the Carleman's inequality through limiting the discrete Hardy inequality with applications of Taylor series.

Spinal epidural lipomatosis (SEL) is a rare condition of pathological overgrowth of fat tissue in the vertebral canal. SEL leads to back pain, radiculopathy or paraparesis. Glucocorticoids seem to play a major role in the development of SEL. SEL is best diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging. The treatment of SEL is directed at reducing the body weight and decreasing the excess glucocorticoid. In severe cases, decompressive laminectomy with removal of the excess epidural fat might become necessary to alleviate the neurological symptoms caused by spinal cord compression.

The present study has numerically investigated the effects of fuel-side dilution and pressure on flame structure and extinction scalar dissipation rate of turbulent syngas nonpremixedd flames. Numerical results indicate that for highly diluted case, peak temperature is decreased and stoichiometric mixture fraction is increased. By decreasing the pressure and the nitrgen dilution levelcreased, the extinction scalar dissipation rate is increased.

This study aimed at investigating the effects of CPAP therapy on hypernasality in flaccid dysarthria. The subject was a flaccid dysarthric patient with hypernasality. An A-B-A experimental research design was used. The therapy program was conducted 16 sessions. During CPAP therapy, the subjects was required to repeat single-word utterances in the form VNCV. The results showed some improvement in decreasing hypernasality.

Korean rice industry is facing new challenge. Nowadays, rice price is ever rising since last year. Difference between domestic price and international price is also ever decreasing and korean rice has chance to win over foreign rice because of better quality and low price. Now is the time to discuss on tariffication of rice import. Even if Korea follows modality of DDA, Korean rice market does not give in to foreign rice. On the other hand, Korean policy makers should make efforts to find way for grain sovereignty.

1. Purpose : Clinically I have studied efficacy of herb treatment and development of herb growth palpation about handicapped children for growth. 2. Methods : 165 patients who visited hospital from January, 2000 to January 2001 3. Results : Average growth of children who visited hospital was less than 4cm but boys have grown 9.8cm/year and girls grown 7.8cm/year at average after treatment by herb. 4. Conclusion : In case of decreasing growth to have get less growth hormone, it has confirmed positive effectiveness by herb treatment even if it is normal.

The machinery ventilation system in case of using the window nature ventilation is difficult due to strong outdoor wind pressure is common ventilation measure. increasing height and decreasing economical efficiency problem because of ventilation duct installation is rising and a measure is urgent. The purpose of this study is analysis required height according to each ventilation system and development of ventilation duct system to reducing height and model testing.

We approximate a locally unique solution of a nonlinear operator equation containing a non-differentiable operator in a Banach space setting using Newton's method. Sufficient conditions for the semilocal convergence of Newton's method in this case have been given by several authors using mainly increasing sequences [1]-[6]. Here, we use center as well as Lipschitz conditions and decreasing majorizing sequences to obtain new sufficient convergence conditions weaker than before in many interesting cases. Numerical examples where our results apply to solve equations but earlier ones cannot [2], [5], [6] are also provided in this study.

In Korea, the number of railroad accidents is decreasing, but the scale of railroad accidents tend to be growing large. On considering the opening of the high speed railway in 2004, the problem of railroad safety is very important. The purpose of this study is to make plans for improving railroad safety of Korea. To make this plan, we generally analyzed the future railway traffic, and reviewed annual statistics of railroad accidents trend and case studies of foreign railway accidents.
