Rh/CeO2 촉매의 N2O 분해반응 특성 및 효율증진 연구 (N2O Decomposition Characteristics and Efficiency Enhancement of Rh/CeO2 Catalyst)

  • 본 연구에서는 $N_2O$를 제거하기 위한 $N_2O$ 분해 촉매와 반응특성에 대한 연구를 수행하고자 한다. 다양한 지지체에 Rh를 활성금속으로 촉매를 제조하여 실험을 수행하였으며, $CeO_2$를 지지체로 하는 $Rh/CeO_2$ 촉매에서 가장 우수한 $N_2O$ 분해활성을 나타내었다. 특히 일정한 소성조건($500^{\circ}C$-4 hr)에서 $Rh/CeO_2$ 촉매를 제조하였을 때 가장 우수한 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 촉매의 특성이 $N_2O$ 분해 반응에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 $H_2-TPR$ 및 XPS 분석을 수행하였다. 실험결과, 촉매의 redox 특성증진과 $Ce^{3+}$의 비율이 증가함에 따른 촉매의 산소전달능력의 증진이 $N_2O$ 분해반응에 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, $N_2O$와 NO가 동시에 발생하는 조건에서 $N_2O$ 분해 반응특성과, $N_2O$와 NO를 동시에 처리 가능한 공정에 대하여 연구하고자 한다.

Probabilistic bearing capacity of strip footing on reinforced anisotropic soil slope

  • The probabilistic bearing capacity of a strip footing placed on the edge of a purely cohesive reinforced soil slope is computed by combining lower bound finite element limit analysis technique with random field method and Monte Carlo simulation technique. To simulate actual field condition, anisotropic random field model of undrained soil shear strength is generated by using the Cholesky-Decomposition method. With the inclusion of a single layer of reinforcement, dimensionless bearing capacity factor, N always increases in both deterministic and probabilistic analysis. As the coefficient of variation of the undrained soil shear strength increases, the mean N value in both unreinforced and reinforced slopes reduces for particular values of correlation length in horizontal and vertical directions. For smaller correlation lengths, the mean N value of unreinforced and reinforced slopes is always lower than the deterministic solutions. However, with the increment in the correlation lengths, this difference reduces and at a higher correlation length, both the deterministic and probabilistic mean values become almost equal. Providing reinforcement under footing subjected to eccentric load is found to be an efficient solution. However, both the deterministic and probabilistic bearing capacity for unreinforced and reinforced slopes reduces with the consideration of loading eccentricity.

탄소 부극에서 초기 충전온도별 부동태 피막 형성에 대한 연구 (Studies on Formation of Passivation Film on KMFC Anode with Initial Charge Temperature)

  • 리튬 이온 2차 전지의 부극으로 사용되는 탄소전극은 초기 충전시 전극 표면에 Solid Electrolyte Interphase (SEI)라고 불리는 부동태 피막을 형성한다. 초기 충전과정에서의 용매분해로 형성된 막은 충방전 용량에 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구에서는 Kawasaki Mesophase Fine Carbon 부극과 1 M $LiPF_6,EC:DEC$ (1:1, 부피비)에 $Li_2CO_3$를 첨가하여 전극/전해질 계면에서 초기충전 온도에 따라 형성되는 부동태 피막의 전기화학적 특성을 시간대 전압법, 순환 전압-전류법, 임피던스법을 이용하여 조사하였다. 관찰된 결과에 따르면, 용매분해 반응이 일어날 때 리튬 이온의 전도도에 따라 용매분해 전위가 달라졌으며, 저온으로 갈수록 $Li^+$ 이온의 전도성이 떨어져 분해 전위 차이가 나타남을 알았다. 또한 여러 온도조건에서 초기 충전시 형성된 피막의 저항은 온도별로 달라짐을 확인하였다.

  • The recent requirement for faster and more frequent solutions has encouraged the consideration of parallel implementations using decentralized processors. Distributed multi-processor environments can potentially greatly increase the available computational capacity and decrease the communication burden, allowing for faster Optimal Power Flow (OPF) solutions. This paper presents a mathematical approach to implementing distributed OPF using the alternating direction method (ADM) to parallelize the OPF. Several IEEE Reliability Test Systems were adopted to demonstrate the proposed algorithm.

Effect of Tris(trimethylsilyl) Phosphate Additive on the Electrochemical Performance of Nickel-rich Cathode Materials at High Temperature

  • $LiNi_xCo_yMn_zO_2$ cathode materials have been the focus of much attention because of their high specific capacity. However, because of the poor interfacial stability between cathodes and electrolytes, the cycling performance of these materials fades rapidly, especially at high temperatures. In the present paper, we propose the use of tris(trimethylsilyl) phosphate (TMSPO), which contains phosphate and silyl functional groups, as a functional additive in electrolytes. The addition of TMSPO resulted in the formation of cathode electrolyte interphase (CEI) layers on the surfaces of the cathodes and effectively suppressed electrolyte decomposition reactions, even at high temperatures. As a result, cells cycled with TMSPO exhibited remarkable capacity, which remained after 50 cycles (82.0%), compared to cells cycled without TMSPO (64.6%).

열화 시간 변화에 따른 폴리카보네이트 필름의 유전 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dielectric Properties of Polycarbonate Film Due to Variation of Degradation Time)

  • In this study, the capacity and FTIR of polycarbonate film that was degraded for 2, 4, and 8 h in a thermostat at $180^{\circ}C$ was measured. The results of this study are as follows. It was found that the capacity decreased with increasing degradation time and frequency. This findings suggest that the attraction between molecules and amorphous polycarbonate increased because it contains the ketone group (-C=O-) and the chain of dioxides group (-O-R-O-). Measurement by FTIR found that the time of thermal degradation has a smaller impact because the transmutation or variation of the material does not occur. Measurement by SEM magnified 1,000 times found that a longer thermal degradation time results in thermal decomposition of the specimen's particles.

System identification and reliability assessment of an industrial chimney under wind loading

  • This study presents the reliability assessment of a 100.5 m tall reinforced concrete chimney at a glass factory under wind loading by using vibration-based identified modal values. Ambient vibration measurements were recorded and modal values such as frequencies, shapes and damping ratios were identified by using Enhanced Frequency Domain Decomposition (EFDD) method. Afterwards, Finite Element Model (FEM) of the chimney was verified based on identified modal parameters. Reliability assessment of the chimney under wind loading was performed by obtaining the exceedance probability of demand to capacity distribution. Demand distribution of the chimney was developed under repetitive seeds of multivariate stochastic wind fields generated along the height of chimney. Capacity distribution of the chimney was developed by Monte Carlo simulation. Finally, it was found that reliability of the chimney is lower than code suggested limit values.

Ni-페라이트 분말을 이용한 CO2 분해 특성 (CO2 decomposition characteristics of Ni-ferrite powder)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 연소 배기가스로부터 포집된 이산화탄소를 다시 일산화탄소 또는 탄소로 전환하여 산업에 다시 활용하고자 하는 탄소순환형 기술개발이다. 이산화탄소는 화학적으로 안정한 분자로써 쉽게 분해되지 않기 때문에 낮은 온도에서 반응이 일어날 수 있는 적합한 금속계 산화물(활성화제)의 선택이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Ni-Fe 전이금속산화물을 사용하여 $CO_2$를 CO나 C로 전환하고자 하였다. 시료는 고상법과 수열합성을 이용해 제조된 분말을 사용하여 각각 이산화탄소 분해특성 연구를 수행하였다. 이산화탄소의 분해 특성을 관찰하기 위해 TPR/TPO와 TGA 장치를 사용하였다. TPR/TPO를 이용한 수소의 환원면적은 NiO의 함량이 15wt%일 때 높게 나타났고, $CO_2$에 의한 흡착분해 곡선면적은 NiO의 함량이 5wt%일 때 우수한 성능을 나타내었다. 그러나 TGA를 이용한 실험결과에서는 고상법에 의해 제조된 시료 중 NiO의 함량이 2.5wt%일 때 수소에 의한 흡착환원이 28.47wt% 발생하였고, $CO_2$에 의한 산화량의 경우 26.95wt%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 그리고 이산화탄소의 분해효율이 94.66%로 우수한 산화 환원 특성을 나타내었다.

A simple approach for quality evaluation of non-slender, cast-in-place piles

  • This study proposes a conceptual framework of in-situ vibration tests and analyses for quality appraisal of non-slender, cast-in-place piles with irregular cross-section configuration. It evaluates a frequency index from vibration recordings to a series of impulse loadings that is related to total soil-resistance forces around a pile, so as to assess if the pile achieves the design requirement in terms of bearing capacity. In particular, in-situ pile-vibration tests in sequential are carried out, in which dropping a weight from different heights generates series impulse loadings with low-to-high amplitudes. The high-amplitude impulse is designed in way that the load will generate equivalent static load that is equal to or larger than the designed bearing capacity of the pile. This study then uses empirical mode decomposition and Hilbert spectral analysis for processing the nonstationary, short-period recordings, so as to single out with accuracy the frequency index. Comparison of the frequency indices identified from the recordings to the series loadings with the design-based one would tell if the total soil resistance force remains linear or nonlinear and subsequently for the quality appraisal of the pile. As an example, this study investigates six data sets collected from the in-situ tests of two piles in Taipu water pump project, Jiangshu Province of China. It concludes that the two piles have the actual axial load capacity higher than the designed bearing capacity. The true bearing capacity of the piles under investigation can be estimated with accuracy if the amplitude of impact loadings is further increased and the analyses are calibrated with the static testing results.

SCM 환경에서의 협력 생산을 고려한 통합 생산 계획에 관한 연구 (Integrated production planning in supply chain management environment considering manufacturing partners)

  • This paper presents a production planning algorithm for minimizing the costs of production and subcontracting in SCM (supply chain management) environment. In our SCM environment, the several local plants that aye dispersed geographically produce parts and products. In this environment, we have to decide the production volumes of both parts and products considering the BOM (bill-of-material) structure to meet the fixed order quantity or forecasted demand quantity. Each plant produces the specified parts of product with finite production capacity. There exist subcontracting decisions relevant to the production capacity of each plant except the core process plant, and when we use the subcontractor's capacities we should be charged for the fixed subcontracting fees. The objective of this study is to solve the production planning problem, which minimizes the total costs of production, inventory, setup, and subcontracting under constraints of production and subcontracting capacity. For this problem, an integrated production planning model based on the multi-level capacitated lot sizing problem was formulated, and efficient decomposition algorithm was proposed. The experimental investigation shows that the proposed heuristic generates quite good solutions at very low computational costs.
