한국 여자 대학생의 Iron, Copper 및 Cobalt 평형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Intake-Balance of Iron, Copper and Cobalt of College Women in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 21~23세의 여자 대학생 8명을 대상으로 4주간 평상시와 같은 생활 양식과 적정 체중을 유지 시키면서 각 대상자들이 섭취한 모든 음식과 배설한 대변 및 소변을 수거하여 iron, copper 및 cobalt의 함량을 측정하여 1인 1일당 섭취량과 배설량을 측정하였다. Iron 섭취량은 원자 흡광광도계로 측정한 설측치와 식품 분석표에 의거하여 얻은 환산치와의 관계를 비교하였다. 그 성적을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1일 1인당 각 대상자별 평균 섭취량은 iron $13.85{\pm}1.10mg/day,\;copper\;1.44{\pm}0.14mg/day\;그리고\;cobalt는\;3.25{\pm}0.18mg/day$이었다. 1일 1인당 각 대상별 소변으로의 평균 배설량은 iron $1.38{\pm}0.27mg/day\;copper\;0.06{\pm}0.01mg/day\;그리고\;cobalt\;0.59{\pm}0.07mg/day$이었다. 1일 1인당 각 대상자별 대변으로의 평균 배설량은 iron $7.66{\pm}0.79mg/day\;copper\;0.59{\pm}0.11mg/day\;그리고\;cobalt\;0.94{\pm}0.16mg/day$이었다. Iron의 실측치는 $13.85{\pm}1.10mg/day$이었고 환산치는 $15.26{\pm}1.17mg/day$로 실측치가 환산치에 비하여 9% 낮았다.

저장기간에 따른 냉동 비빔밥 나물의 미생물학적, 관능적 특성 (The Microbiological and Sensorial Properties of frozen bibimbap namul during storage)

  • Namul cooked with the standard recipe was examined by research of microbiological test for three months and sensory evaluation of frozen namul after reheating. When the namul was freezed storage, in the microbiological test namul began to change on the 40th day, but there was no problem about stability of storage until 3 months. The overall qualities of taste, flavor, color and texture were examined by sensory evaluation of frozen namul after reheating. The pH was seemed to change slowly, its color was changed on the 20th day from the beginning of storage. Radish root represented substantial difference in texture and overall quality on the 20th day. The off-flavor of immature pumpkin stated on the 25th day. Later 10days nettle tree mushroom began to be changed in its taste, texture, overall quality and appearance, then on the 25th day it was seemed to have low preference. But oak mushroom kept its quality good for 25 days. Oyster mushroom was changed in color, appearance and overall quality on the 20th day. Bracken had low preference in taste, texture and moisture on the 25th day. The color of spinach was changed on the 15th day, and its taste on the 20th day. Soybean sprout was changed in taste, texture and overall quality on the 15th day, and overall quality marked low preference on the 25th day Root of bell flower was changed on the 25th day(p<0.05).

  • IBD's antibody level and morphological change of immune organ was examined in chicken. The results were as follows ; 1. Seventy percent at 42 day and 40% at 45 day of age chickens were reacted positively by the agar gel immunodiffusion test and 42 day and 45 day of age chickens indicated 1859, 1425 by the ELISA test, respectively. 2. In 2 and 5 day young broiler chickens, the level of maternal antibody was not proper. B/B ratio showed low level, but S/B ratio and BS were normal. 3. In layer, 100% of 8 and 86 day of age chicken and 70% at 40 day of age chicken had antibody aganist IBDV. The level of antibody was high as 2293 and 3336 in 8 and 86 day of age chicken, while was low as 1186 in 40 day of age chicken. B/B ratio showed low level and S/B ratio high level, but BS was normal.

Risk Assessment of Dioxin in Japan

  • In 1990, Tolerable Daily Intake (TDI) of 10 pg TCDD/kg/day for dioxins based on carcinogenicity and reproductive toxicity was determined by WHO/EURO, that resulted in the establishment of TDIs in other countries. In Japan, Ministry of Health and Welfare and Environment Agency, respectively established the TDI of 10 pg TCDD/kg/day and Health Risk Assessment Index of 5 pg TCDD/kg/day in 1996. Accumulation of new scientific data, especially by molecular toxicology since 1990, resulted in the reevaluation of TDI by WHO-ECEH and IPCS in May, 1998. At this meeting, it was stressed that \circled1 toxic effects of dioxin is mediated through Ah-receptor in both animals and humans, \circled2 use of ebody burdeni concept is better than the use of traditional NOAEL/UF approach, \circled3 inclusion of coplanar PCBs in the TDI by the use of new WHO-TEF. LOAELs (0.16~200 ng TCDD/kg/day) obtained from reproductive toxicity and immunotoxicity in rats, and neurobehavioral toxicity and induction of endometriosis in rhesus monkeys are calculated to be the body burden of 10~50 ng TCDD/kg that is 14~37 pg TEQ/kg/day as human daily intake. Finally TDI of 1~4 pg TEQ/kg/day was established by applying the UF of 10. In Japan, reproductive toxicity and immunotoxicity in rats were used to obtain LOAELs (100~200 ng TCDD/kg/day). Finally TDI of 4 pg TEQ/kg/day was established in June 1999 by applying the UF of 10 to human daily intake of 43.6 pg TEQ/kg/day which corresponds to the body burden of 86 ng TCDD/kg.

수유 초기 모유 중 타우린 함량과 영아의 섭취량 추정 (Taurine Level in Human Milk and Estimated Intake of Taurine by Breast -Fed Infants during the Early Period of Lactation)

  • Taurine is only supplied to the infants from the breast-fed or formula milks because the enzyme activities of taurine biosynthesis are limited in early stages of infants . The objectives of present study were to quantitate the contents of tarurine in human milk and to estimate the intake of taurine by breast-fed infants during early period of lactation. Thirty -three lactating women, volunteered and delivered in R hospital in Serou. were recruited. Milk samples were collected every day at B1-B5 day(from 1 to 5 day dafter start of milk secretion), 15th and 30th day postpartum. Taurine contents were determined by HPLC equipped with RF-detector. The intake of taurine by infants was estimated by multiplization with the infant milk intake reported in our laboratory. The content of taurine was 406$\pm$174nmol/ml at B1-B5 day, and then gradually decreased to 359$\pm$125nmol/ml at 15th day and to 304$\pm$94nmol/ml at 30th day postpartum. The estimated intake of taurine was almost same as 24-25mg/day at B1-B5 day, and 15th , 30th days postpartum . This results was due to the increase of the intake of milk by infants.

  • This study is performed to select irrigation design year from 10-year return period 7-month(April to October) precipitation amount and compare reference crop evapotranspiration at 13 regions by REF-ET model. 1. Seven-month growing season average reference crop evapotranspiration values showed low values of 4.1 ∼4.2mm /day by FAO-24 Corrected Penman method, and 3.6 ∼3.7mm/day by FAP-24 Blaney Criddle method in Chinjin and Ulsan, high values of 4.9mm/day by FAO-24 Corrected Penman method , 4.1mm/day by FAO -24 Blaney Criddle method in Mokpo and Pohang. 2. Estimated seven-month growing season average reference crop evapotranspirations are 4.6mm/day by FAO-24 Corrected Penman method, 3.9,mm/day by FAO-24 Balney Criddle method, 4.0mm/day 1985 Hargreaves method, respectively.

The Study of Evaluation for Stability of Serum Free PSA In Vitro

  • In the specimen of free PSA in the low concentration, the result in % bias from our institution and comparable evaluation institution was -33.7% which is exceeded % bias ${\pm}20%$ ; however, it was the domestically allowable limit recommended by the laboratory accreditation commission for specimen at the low concentration. In this paper, the cause was accredited by instability of free PSA substance within the specimen, and the specimen stability test was performed according to CLSI documents GP29-A2. After the low and high concentration specimen were made, and rapidly cooled down in a deep freezer with $-30^{\circ}C$, serum of two concentrations was measured for 10 consecutive days with 3 times a day by Architect i2000 and observed a change in the mean value. As the results of two groups, there were changes in the established target value, and a change level was evaluated by calculating it with % bias. The low concentration specimen had no significant reduction until the 4 day lapse in cold storage. However, % bias were reduced by -17.5% from the 5 day lapse, by 21.5% after the 7 day lapse, and by -26.9% after the 9 day lapse. The frozen specimen had only intra-day variation for 10 days. In the high concentration specimen, bias began to show as -12.2% from the 3 day lapse in cold storage. There was reduction by -28.9% from the 5 day lapse, by -39% after the 7 day lapse, and by -42.9% after the 9 day lapse. In the frozen specimen, there was only intra-day variation like the low concentration specimen in cold storage.

보육시설의 유아기 프로그램 평가 연구 (Evaluation of Early Childhood Programs in Korean Day Care Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and evaluate quality of early childhood programs in day care centers. The subjects were 283 day care centers in Korea. Quality of early childhood programs was evaluated by observation and interview, using questionnaire. The results showed that the quality of early childhood programs was moderate. There were significant differences in quality of early childhood programs by type of day care center ; the level of early childhood programs in national and private centers was high than in family day care. Future directions were presented for quality day care.

한국 보육시설의 영아기 프로그램 운영 평가 (Evaluation of Infant/Toddler Programs in Korean Day Care Centers)

  • This study investigated the quality of infant/toddler programs in 200 day care centers in Korea. The quality of infant/toddler programs was evaluated by observation and interview, using the questionnaire method. Results showed that the quality of the programs was moderate. There were significant differences in the quality of programs by type of day care center, i. e. the quality of infant/toddler programs in national and private day care centers was higher than in family day care. Future suggestions were presented for quality day care.

재래흑산양(在來黑山羊)의 흡충류(吸蟲類)(간질(肝蛭), 췌질(膵蛭), 쌍구흡충(雙口吸蟲))에 대(對)한 Nitroxynil(Trodax)의 구충효과(驅蟲效果) (Anthelmintic Efficiency of Nitroxynil against Fasciola hepatica, Eurythrema Pancreaticum and Paramphistomum sp. in Korean Native Goat)

  • The anthelmintic efficiency of nitroxynil(Trodax) at a dose rate of 10mg/kg was tested in naturally infected Korean native goat (Black goat) against Fasciola hepatica, Eurythrema pancreaticum, and Paramphistomum sp. The drug was administered with injection subcutaneouslly and the efficiency was measured by faecal examination microscopically. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. The anthelmintic efficiency of nitroxynil against Fasciola hepatica was shown 33.3% on day 7, 88.9% on day 14 and 94.4% on day 28 after the administration of the drug, respectively. The reduction rates of egg per gram of faeces (E. P. G.) against Fasciola hepatica in faecal examination were shown 86.8% on day 7, 97.7% on day 14, and 99.7% on day 28 postmedication. 2. The anthelmintic efficiency of nitroxynil against Paramphistomum sp. was shown 0% on day 7, 10.5% on day 14, and 36.8% on day 28 after the administration of drug. The reduction rates of E. P. G. against the parasite were shown 13.2% on day 14, and 39.4% on day 28 postmedication. 3. The anthelmintic efficiency of nitroxynil against Eurythrema pancreaticum was shown 0% on day 7, 16.6% on day 14, and 25% on day 28 after the administration of the drug.
