Although various criteria on the diagnosis of diabetic neuropathy are applied from trial to trial, being tailored in concert with its purpose, the utmost evidences of the diagnosis are subjective symptoms and objective signs of neurologic deficit. The application and interpretation of auxiliary electrophysiological test including nerve conduction study (NCS) should be made on the context of clinical pictures. The evaluation of the functions of small, thinly myelinated or unmyelinated nerve fibers has been increasingly stressed recently with the advent of newer techniques, e.g., measurement of intraepidermal fiber density, quantitative sensory testing, and autonomic function test. And the studies with those techniques have shed light to the nature of the evolution of diabetic neuropathy. The practical application of these techniques to the diagnosis of diabetic neuropathy in the individual patients, however, should be made cautiously due to several shortcomings: limited accessibility, wide overlapping zone between norm and abnormality with resultant unsatisfactory sensitivity and specificity, difficulty in performing subsequent tests, unproven quantitative correlation with clinical deficit, and invasiveness of some technique. NCS, as an extension of clinical examination, is still the most reliable electrophysiological test in evaluating neuropathy and gives the invaluable information about the nature of neuropathy, whereas the newer techniques need more refinement of the procedure and interpretation, and the accumulation of large scaled data of application to be considered as established diagnostic tools of peripheral neuropathy.
Purpose - This study centers on field surveys aimed at deriving the customer satisfaction factors of customer support centers that are positioned between suppliers and consumers in the supply chain. They consists of manufacturing, sales, distribution, consumption and collection, and that are in charge of core functions for suppliers' customer satisfaction management and consumers' satisfaction with consuming activities. Research design, data, and methodology - The customer satisfaction factors of customer support centers were derived through literature review and expert opinion surveys, and a questionnaire was developed through a process of the refinement of variables using pilot tests and 330 questionnaire sheets were distributed. The questionnaire sheets were collected and opinions in them were analyzed using fuzzy AHP methodology. Results - Three factors, which are turnover intentions, motivation, and job satisfaction, were derived as customer satisfaction factors of customer support centers, and the ranking relationships of these three factors were analyzed. In addition, the ranking relationships among six execution variables of turnover intentions, 10 execution variables of motivation, and 10 execution variables of job satisfaction were analyzed using fuzzy AHP methodology to obtain quite significant results. Based on the results of this study, three implications in the three strategic aspects and an implication in the academic aspects are presented. Conclusions - Motivation and job satisfaction, job satisfaction and turnover intentions, and motivation and turnover intentions are not formed by independent or different factors or environments. They are in the same context with each other (maintaining high correlations) and are in the relationships of virtuous circles in which they complement each other.
Traditional object decomposition techniques do not decompose spatial objects dynamically during spatial joins, because the object decomposition is very expensive. In this paper, we propose a modified object decomposition technique that can be applied in PBSM(Partition Based Spatial Merge-Join). In real-life data, there are much differences among the sizes of objects. We decompose only large objects with great effects on spatial joins. This technique decreases the decomposition cost of objects during spatial joins and enables efficient filter-refinement steps. Experiments show that the PBSM used with our proposed method performs significantly better than the traditional PBSM.

A project where the TPUs(Turbo Pump Units) for 10tf-thrust oxygen/methane LRE (Liquid Rocket Engine) are under development is being implemented to include an experimental combustion chamber developed. In the process of it, we introduced the power-balanced engine cycles in order to substantiate concepts of the engine using the combinations of the propellants. Accordingly, the main engine parameters of nominal operating mode are resulted from the 1-Dcalculations and it is found that the regulators are needed for controlling the expected pressure levels in the characteristics of propellant mixture ratio and thrust supposing the regulator is set to analogue-typed one which is easy to develop. The technical requirements like the nominal flow rate, its deviations expected and the pressure difference In need helped the several main characteristics of regulators to be determine in this stage. Here, a dozen of deviation values in the main parameters related to engineoperation are taken into independent consideration and accepted to the results for additional regimes of the regulators. Finally, we can determine the scheme and the primary dimensions along with the calculation design of the spring acceptable for general configuration which can definitely forwarded to the autonomous tests of the aggregates, The obtained data in further will be used for successive refinement of operating mode of the engine.

This paper describes an algorithm that improves 3D reconstruction result using a multi-sensor fusion disparity map. We can project LRF (Laser Range Finder) 3D points onto image pixel coordinatesusing extrinsic calibration matrixes of a camera-LRF (${\Phi}$, ${\Delta}$) and a camera calibration matrix (K). The LRF disparity map can be generated by interpolating projected LRF points. In the stereo reconstruction, we can compensate invalid points caused by repeated pattern and textureless region using the LRF disparity map. The result disparity map of compensation process is the multi-sensor fusion disparity map. We can refine the multi-sensor 3D reconstruction based on stereo vision and LRF using the multi-sensor fusion disparity map. The refinement algorithm of multi-sensor based 3D reconstruction is specified in four subsections dealing with virtual LRF stereo image generation, LRF disparity map generation, multi-sensor fusion disparity map generation, and 3D reconstruction process. It has been tested by synchronized stereo image pair and LRF 3D scan data.
Rapid advances of computational power and method have made it practical to apply the time-consuming calculations with all-atom force fields and sophisticated potential energies into refining NMR structure. Added to the all-atom force field, generalized-Born implicit solvent model (GBIS) contributes substantially to improving the qualities of the resulting NMR structures. GBIS approximates the effects that explicit solvents bring about even with fairly reduced computational times. Although GBIS is employed in the final stage of NMR structure calculation with experimental restraints, the effects by GBIS on structures have been reported notable. However, the detailed effect is little studied in a quantitative way. In this study, we report GBIS refinements of ubiquitin and GB1 structures by six GBIS models of AMBER package with experimental distance and backbone torsion angle restraints. Of GBIS models tested, the calculations with igb=7 option generated the closest structures to those determined by X-ray both in ubiquitin and GB1 from the viewpoints of root-mean-square deviations. Those with igb=5 yielded the second best results. Our data suggest that the degrees of improvements vary under different GBIS models and the proper selection of GBIS model can lead to better results.
The modern era of water quality modeling in the United States began in the 1960s. Pushed by advances in computer technology as well as environmental sciences, water quality modeling evolved through five broad periods: (1) initial model development with mainframe computers (1960s - mid 1970s), (2) model refinement and generalization with minicomputers (mid 1970s - mid 1980s), (3) model standardization and support with microcomputers (mid 1980s - mid 1990s), (4) better model access and performance with faster desktop computers running Windows and local area networks linked to the Internet (mid 1990s - early 2000s), and (5) model integration and widespread use of the Internet (early 2000s - present). Improved computer technology continues to drive improvements in water quality models, including more detailed environmental analysis (spatially and temporally), better user interfaces and GIS software, more accessibility to environmental data from on-line repositories, and more robust modeling frameworks linking hydrodynamics, water quality, watershed and atmospheric models. Driven by regulatory needs and advancing technology, water quality modeling will continue to improve to better address more complicated water bodies and pollutant types, and more complicated management questions. This manuscript describes historical trends in water quality model development in the United States, reviews current efforts, and projects promising future directions.

Prions cause neurodegenerative diseases in animals and humans. The scrapie prion protein (PrPSc) is the major-possibly only-component of the infectious prion and is generated from the cellular isoform (PrPC) by a conformational change. Limited proteolysis of PrPSc produces an polypeptide comprised primarily of residues 90 to 231, which retains infectivity. The three-dimensional structure of rPrP(90-231), a recombinant protein resembling PrPC with the Syrian hamster (SHa) sequence, was solved using multidimensional NMR. Low-resolution structures of rPrP(90-231), synthetic peptides up to 56 residues, a longer (29-231, full-length) protein with SHa sequence, and a short here further structure refinement of rPrP(90-231) and dynamic features of the protein. Consideration of these features in the context of published data suggests regions of conformational heterogeneity, structural elements involved in the PrPC\longrightarrowPrPSc transformation, and possible structural features related to a species barrier to transmission of prion diseases.

Interferometry SAR (InSAR) is a technique to generate topographic map from complex data pairs observed by antennas at different locations. However, to obtain topographic information using InSAR is difficult task because it requires series of complicated process including phase unwrapping and precise recovery of the SAR geometry. Especially, accuracy of the DEM (Digital Elevation Model) produced by repeat pass single SAR pair could be influenced by atmospheric effect. Recently, a new InSAR technique to improve accuracy of DEM has been introduced that utilizes low resolution DEM with a number of SAR image pairs. The coarse DEM plays an important role in reducing phase unwrapping error caused by layover and satellite orbit error. In this study, we implemented DInSAR (Differential InSAR) method which combines low resolution DEMs and ERS tandem pair images. GTOPO30 DEM with 1km resolution, SRTM-3 DEM with 100m resolution, and DEM with 10m resolution derived from 1:25,000 digital vector map were used to investigate feasibility of DInSAR. The accuracy of the DEMs generated both by InSAR and DInSAR was evaluated.
This paper treats an adaptive finite-element method for the viscous compressible flow governed by Navier-Stokes equations in two dimensions. The numerical algorithm is the two-step Taylor-Galerkin mettled using unstructured triangular grids. To increase accuracy and stability, combined moving node method and grid refinement method have been used for grid adaption. Validation of the present algorithm has been made by comparing the present computational results with the existing experimental data and other numerical solutions. Four benchmark problems are solved for demonstration of the present numerical approach. They include a subsonic flow over a flat plate, the Carter flat plate problem, a laminar shock-boundary layer interaction. and finally a laminar flow around NACA0012 airfoil at zero angle of attack and free stream Mach number of 0.85. The results indicates that the present adaptive triangular grid method is accurate and useful for laminar viscous flow calculations.
