New Classification Criteria and Database Code of Water Environment for Nature-Friendly River Work and Integrated Management of Watershed (자연친화적 하천사업 및 통합적 유역 관리를 위한 새로운 수환경 분류법 및 자료관리 프로그램의 개발)

  • Nature-friendly river project has became common practice in Japan. In order to make it available for the conservation and rehabilitation of desirable water environment, water criteria for water environmental assessment must be established. Especially, the criteria estimating the effects on ecosystem in and around river should be constructed. In this paper, classification method for water quality has been developed using biological indices and applied to observed data in Honmyo River, Nagasaki, Japan. Modified PI method (BI') has been suggested and those of three most abundant species resulted effective estimate for an overall water quality with comparatively simple procedure. Extensive database management code was prepared for the comprehensive ecological monitoring of river basin, which includes various biota. That system enables easy access of all the ecological data for a dissemination of a sound and sustainable water environment. The result of this study could improve knowledge base, serve making consensus for citizens, and help river management plans. In Japan, citizen's realization and action are the most critical factor for nature-friendly river restoration project.

Retrieval of Legal Information Through Discovery Layers: A Case Study Related to Indian Law Libraries

  • Purpose. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and evaluate discovery layer search tools for retrieval of legal information in Indian law libraries. This paper covers current practices in legal information retrieval with special reference to Indian academic law libraries, and analyses its importance in the domain of law.Design/Methodology/Approach. A web survey and observational study method are used to collect the data. Data related to the discovery tools were collected using email and further discussion held with the discovery layer/ tool /product developers and their representatives.Findings. Results show that most of the Indian law libraries are subscribing to bundles of legal information resources such as Hein Online, JSTOR, LexisNexis Academic, Manupatra, Westlaw India, SCC web, AIR Online (CDROM), and so on. International legal and academic resources are compatible with discovery tools because they support various standards related to online publishing and dissemination such as OAI/PMH, Open URL, MARC21, and Z39.50, but Indian legal resources such as Manupatra, Air, and SCC are not compatible with the discovery layers. The central index is one of the important components in a discovery search interface, and discovery layer services/tools could be useful for Indian law libraries also if they can include multiple legal and academic resources in their central index. But present practices and observations reveal that discovery layers are not providing facility to cover legal information resources. Therefore, in the present form, discovery tools are not very useful; they are an incomplete and half solution for Indian libraries because all available Indian legal resources available in the law libraries are not covered.Originality/Value. Very limited research or published literature is available in the area of discovery layers and their compatibility with legal information resources.

  • As following the development of the USN technology, sensor node used in sensor network has capability of quick data process and storage to support efficient network configuration is enabled. In addition, tree-based structure was transformed to cluster in the construction of sensor network. However, query processing based on existing tree structure could be inefficient under the cluster-based network. In this paper, we suggest energy efficient query processing mechanism using filtering through data attribute classification in cluster-based sensor network. The suggestion mechanism use advantage of cluster-based network so reduce energy of query processing and designed more intelligent query dissemination. And, we prove excellence of energy efficient side with MATLab.

Effects of Lumbar Mobilization for Lower Limb Strength in Healthy Individuals: A Protocol for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

  • Background: The effect of mobilization on lumbar back pain has been fully described in several clinical aspects, but evidence for muscle strength would be still less clear. Objective: To assess the effect of lumbar mobilization on lower limb strength in healthy individuals. Methods and Analysis: Healthy people aged 18-65 will be included regardless of race or sex. Original peer-reviewed primary reporting randomized controlled trials (RCTs) will be included. Electronic databases, such as MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, Pedro, CINAHL, ClinicalTrials.gov will be searched from inception until July 30. Only studies published in English will be included in this review. Two reviewers will complete the screening for eligibility independently, and the other two reviewers will also complete the risks of data extraction and bias assessment independently. Lower Limb strength will be assessed as primary outcome, and particular intervention or participant characteristics will be assessed as the secondary outcomes. Meta-analysis will be conducted using Review Manager 5.3.3, and evidence level will be assessed using the method for Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation. Outcomes will be presented as the weighted mean difference or standardized mean difference with 95% CI. If I2 ≤ 50%, P>.1, the fixed effect model will be used, otherwise, random-effects model will be used. Ethics and dissemination: This review might not be necessary ethical approval because it does not require individual patient's data; these findings will be published in conference presentations or peer-reviewed journal articles.   • Real time multimedia data services have been made possible by the rapid development of the computer and internet technology. Based on the technology, Many multimedia system developer try to use VOD(Video on Demand) and GVA technologies for distance education. However the system has mainly been developed to provide the video screen of good quality in real time and to compose contents efficiently. Not many researches and developments have been made for providing the users that is taking distance education with various types of service using VOD and GVA. Therefore In this paper we have designed and implemented an active on-demand multimedia service system to improve user-side service quality in distance education using VOD and GVA service. The on-demand multimedia service system can prominently help users to save the time and effort to search and select the studying data by this paper enables off-line search functions through E-mail and periodical current awareness service supported by PUSH technology, user oriented information booking supported by SDI service and feedback service.

Data Dissemination Protocol Considering Target Mobility in Ubiquitous Sensor Network (유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크 환경에서 감지대상의 이동성을 고려한 데이터 전달 프로토콜)

  • This paper proposes DDTM for USN having end-point mobility. The existing network protocols did not consider target's and sink's mobility. So it requires flooding and path update whenever targets or sinks move. This can lead to drain battery of sensors excessively and decrease lifetime of USN. DDTM is the protocol based on TTDD considering sink's mobility. TTDD provides sink's mobility efficiently by using the grid structure, but it requires the high energy because of reconstructing the grid structure whenever targets move. In this way, the proposed protocol can decrease a consumption of energy, since it reuses the existing grid structure of TTDD, if the target moves in local cell. We compare DDTM with TTDD under the total message and the energy consumption by using a discrete analytical model for cost analysis. Analytical results demonstrated that our proposed protocol can provide the higher efficiency on target's mobility.

  • The concept of Cloud computing has been introduced in the IT field over 10 years and industry has been expanding constantly. However, compare to the maturity of global market, Korea cloud computing industry is only in the early stage. Even the Korea has advantages in technology infrastructure; the pace of Korea cloud computing market growth is taking a serious downturn. Under these circumstances, it is needed to be discussing that strategy for expanding the cloud computing market size and for sustaining global competitiveness of local companies. Previous studies on plans for Korea cloud computing market has been conducted since 2009 and most of them are tend to examined in demand perspective. Thus, this study aims at identifying the priority of business challenges for making better performance in the market with service provider aspects. To analyze the important factors in the providing cloud computing service, ANP methodology was applied in this study. The network model including five clusters, security, stability, performance, consumer, and institution, was defined through literature review and expert survey was conducted to collect data. As a result of ANP analysis, 'Securing service reliability' was analyzed as the most important factor and followed by 'Preparing the range of legal liability', 'Preventing personal information leakage' and 'Preventing confidential information data leakage.' The priority of result indicates that service provider needs to focus on to make the secured service environment. This study has significance on analyzing the priority of business challenges in the service provider perspective. This study will provide useful guidelines to for establishing strategies in cloud computing market.

Energy-Efficient Routing for Data Collection in Sensor Networks (센서 네트워크에서의 데이타 수집을 위한 라우팅 기법)

  • Once a continuous query, which is commonly used in sensor networks, is issued, the query is executed many times with a certain interval and the results of those query executions are collected to the base station. Since this comes many communication messages continuously, it is important to reduce communication cost for collecting data to the base station. In sensor networks, in-network processing reduces the number of message transmissions by partially aggregating results of an aggregate query in intermediate nodes, or merging the results in one message, resulting in reduction of communication cost. In this paper, we propose a routing tree for sensor nodes that qualify the given query predicate, called the query specific routing tree(QSRT). The idea of the QSRT is to maximize in-network processing opportunity. A QSRT is created seperately for each query during dissemination of the query. It is constructed in such a way that during the collection of query results partial aggregation and packet merging of intermediate results can be fully utilized. Our experimental results show that our proposed method can reduce message transmissions more than 18% compared to the existing one.

  • AIS is the most important navigation equipment for the identification of other ships, etc. However, the AIS overload problem has been raised recently due to an increase in AIS equipped vessels. The government is planning to introduce the wireless LTE network at 100 km offshore as part of the SMART-Navigation project. Continuous development and dissemination of the services available through such platforms will be necessary to achieve major goals such as marine accident prevention and environmental protection. In this study, we applied a WAVE communication system, which could be the basis for the development of such services. As a result, reliable data transmission was confirmed for a range of communication of approx. 5 miles, although the service was limited to 1 km in road traffic. Therefore, it is expected that WAVE communication technology will be used to prevent marine accidents through such efforts as collision avoidance and the transfer of marine safety information between ships.

Motivation Versus Intention of Sharing Fake News Among Social Media Users during the Pandemic - A SEM Model

  • Are intentions important in deciding the outcome of an action such as sharing misinformation among social media users during the pandemic? What is their role and how far they are important for the very act of fake sharing news? The social media users' actions on the social platform are determined by what they plan to do themselves; however, their motivation has an immense role to play in the dissemination of fake news on social media. The study proposes a conceptual model for understanding how select factors affect fake news sharing motivation and intentions of social media users. The study scrutinizes the relationship between content and context, fear of missing out (FoMO), news verification and news sharing gratification on the motivation and intention of social media users of networked Asian society. Empirical Data were drawn from social media users (N = 243) from India, using an online questionnaire based on prior studies and structural equation modeling (SEM) approach was used to analyze the data collected. Results indicate that news content, news verification, and news sharing gratification have a direct and positive relationship with sharing motivation. On the other hand, news context and content, FoMO and news sharing gratification have a positive significant relationship with sharing intention. Likewise, it was discovered that news verification will decrease sharing intention of the social media users. However, news context, that is the pandemic in the case of the present study and FoMO were not identified as determinant variables for sharing motivation among social media users. The research limitations and further scope were discussed.
