A survey was conducted of the total of 57 adults with disabilities from 60 years old to more than 20 years old residing in Jeju Island in which they were interviewed three times in May 2015. Supplementary data was provided by one of the male adults with disability who acts as a lecturer and helped to improve our awareness of the disabilities. The following conclusions were drawn from this research: First, as regards the effect of the economic activity of the disabled on their self-efficacy, their economic activity does not have any significant effect on their self-regulating efficacy and task difficulty preference, but does have an effect on their self-confidence. Third, according to the $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ verification on the differences in the self-efficacy of the disabled depending on their economic activity, employment (M=23.48, p<.04) and lecturer activities (M=22.06, p<.04) (had a greater effect?) than unemployment (M=18.93, p=<.04) but no difference between their employment and lecturer activities was found.
Cajanus indicus is a herb with medicinal properties and is traditionally used to treat various forms of liver disorders. Present study aimed to evaluate the effect of a 43 kD protein isolated from the leaves of this herb against chloroform induced hepatotoxicity. Male albino mice were intraperitoneally treated with 2mg/kg body weight of the protein for 5 days followed by oral application of chloroform (0.75ml/kg body weight) for 2 days. Different biochemical parameters related to physiology and pathophysiology of liver, such as, serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase and alkaline phosphatase were determined in the murine sera under various experimental conditions. Direct antioxidant role of the protein was also determined from its reaction with Diphenyl picryl hydraxyl radical, superoxide radical and hydrogen peroxide. To find out the mode of action of this protein against chloroform induced liver damage, levels of antioxidant enzymes catalase, superoxide dismutase and glutathione-S-transferase were measured from liver homogenates. Peroxidation of membrane lipids both in vivo and in vitro were also measured as malonaldialdehyde. Finally, histopathological analyses were done from liver sections of control, toxin treated and protein pre- and post-treated (along with the toxin) mice. Levels of serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase and alkaline phosphatase, which showed an elevation in chloroform induced hepatic damage, were brought down near to the normal levels with the protein pretreatment. On the contrary, the levels of anti-oxidant enzymes such as catalase, superoxide dismutase and glutathione-S-transferase that had gone down in mice orally fed with chloroform were significantly elevated in protein pretreated ones. Besides, chloroform induced lipid peroxidation was effectively reduced by protein treatment both in vivo and in vitro. In cell free system the protein effectively quenched diphenyl picryl hydrazyl radical and superoxide radical, though it could not catalyse the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide. Post treatment with the protein for 3 days after 2 days of chloroform administration showed similar results. Histopathological studies indicated that chloroform induced extensive tissue damage was less severe in the mice livers treated with the 43 kD protein prior and post to the toxin administration. Results from all these data suggest that the protein possesses both preventive and curative role against chloroform induced hepatotoxicity and probably acts by an anti-oxidative defense mechanism.

Obesity is an increasing worldwide health problem that is strongly related to the imbalance of food intake and energy metabolism. It was well-known that several substances in the hypothalamus regulate food intake and energy metabolism. We planned an integrative study to elucidate the mechanism of the development of obesity. Firstly, to find candidate genes with the marvelous effect, the different expression in the hypothalamus between ob/ob and 48-h fasting mice was investigated by using DNA microarray technology. As a result, we found 3 genes [peroxisome proliferator activated receptor, gamma, coactivator 1 alpha (Ppargc1a), calmodulin 1 (Calm1), and complexin 2 (Cplx2)] showing the different hypothalamic expression between ob/ob and 48-h fasting mice. Secondly, a genetic approach on PPARGC1A gene was performed, because PPARGC1A acts as a transcriptional coactivator and a metabolic regulator. Two hundred forty three obese female patients with body mass index (BMI)${\geq}$25 and 285 control female subjects with BMI 18 to<23 were recruited according to the Classification of Korean Society for the Study of Obesity. Among the coding single nucleotide polymorphisms (cSNPs) of PPARGC1A, 2 missense SNPs (rs8192678, Gly482Ser; rs3736265, Thr612Met) and 1 synonymous SNP (rs3755863, Thr528Thr) were selected, and analyzed by PCR-RFLP and pyrosequencing. For the analysis of genetic data, chi-square ($X^2$) test and EH program were used. The rs8192678 was significantly associated with obese women (P<0.0006; odds ratio, 1.5327; 95% confidence interval, 1.2006-1.9568). Haplotypes also showed significant association with obese women ($X^2$=33.28, P<0.0008). These results suggest that PPARGC1A might be related to the development of obesity.

In order to illustrate the variation cf stratification and to know the effects of the temperature and the salinity on the stratification in the South Sea of Korea, the stratification parameter defined as potential energy anomaly (PEA, $V(J/m^3)$) introduced by Simpson and Hunter (1974) was used. The oceanographic data were obtained in August 1999 and February 2000 by National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI). V in August is generally high in offshore and low in near shore. However, in February, V in the near shore is higher than that cf the offshore due to the vertical temperature gradient between surface and bottom layer caused by the expansion of South Korean Coastal Waters (SKCW). In summer, the increase of the atmospheric heating acts on the stratification as the buoyancy forcing. In most cases, the effect cf the temperature on the stratification is stronger than that of the salinity. The temperature effect is predominantly due to the extent of the intrusion of Tsushima Warm Current into the study area. However, at stations where V is high the effect of the salinity is also significant. In winter, V is very low due to the decrease cf the buoyancy forcing, but some stations show the relatively high V due to the expansion of SKCW and salinity in winter unlike that in summer makes the stratification weak.
As we enter the era of big data, the value of personal information is becoming ever more important. However, personal information protection laws in Korea have several issues. Furthermore, existing research are limited in their ability to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of measures to improve personal information protection laws. Accordingly, this study analyzes improvements to be made in the current personal information protection laws based on existing research. A total of 39 research articles discussing the problems of the personal information protection law were selected and analyzed by applying the meta - analysis technique. According to the results, the various issues such as the meaning and scope of personal information, the role and obligations of relevant parties, provision of personal information to third parties, and redundant and imbalanced regulations in special acts in each field. that exist in the current personal information protection laws were confirmed. This study contributes to the improvement of inconsistency between information protection laws and related special laws in each field in practice. Academically, it will contribute to understanding the problems of th law from the macro perspective and suggesting the integrated improvement ways of the law.

Catalytic combustion of toluene was investigated on the Cu-Mn oxide catalysts prepared by the impregnation(Imp) and the deposition-precipitation(DP) methods. The mixing of copper and manganese has been found to enhance the activity of catalysts. It is then found that catalytic efficiency of the Cu-Mn oxide catalyst prepared by the DP method on combustion of toluene is much higher than that of the Cu-Mn oxide catalyst prepared by Imp method with the same chemical composition. The catalyst prepared by the deposition-precipitation method observed no change of toluene conversion at time on stream during 10 days and at the addition of water vapor. On the basis of catalyst characterization data, it has been suggested that the catalysts prepared by the DP method showed uniform distribution and smaller particle size on the surface of catalyst and then enhanced reduction capability of catalysts. Therefore, we think that the DP method leads on progressive capacity of catalyst and promotes stability of catalyst. It was also presumed that catalytic conversion of toluene on the Cu-Mn oxide catalyst depends on redox reaction and $Cu_{1.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$ spinel phase acts as the major active sites of catalyst.
In this article we examine a unique data set of intraday fair disclosure(FD) releases to shed light on market efficiency within the trading day. Specifically, this paper analyze the response of stock prices on fair disclosure disseminated in real-time through KIND(Korea Investor's Network for Disclosure) on Korea stock exchange during the period from January 2003 to September 2004. We find that the prices of stock experiences a statistically and economically significant increase beginning seconds after the fair disclosure is initially announced and lasting approximately two minutes. The stock price responds more strongly to fair disclosure on smaller firm but the response to fair disclosure on the largest firm stock is more gradual, lasting five minutes. We also examine the profitability of a short-term trading strategy based on dissemination of fair disclosure. After controlling for trading costs we find that trader who execute a trade following initial disclosure generate negative profits, but trader buying stock before initial disclosure realize statistically significant positive profit after two minute of disclosure. Summarizing overall results, our evidence supports that security prices on Korea stock exchange reflects all available information within two minutes and the Korea stock market is semi-strongly efficient enough that a trader cannot generate profits based on widely disseminated news unless he acts almost immediately.
There has been discussions and investigation on the nexus between religion and citizen's supports for suicide attacks and terrorist groups conducting such acts. In terms of the relationship, there were two potent hypotheses attempting to explain the process and mechanism of the relationship: religious belief hypothesis and coalitional commitment hypothesis. previous studies examined these hypotheses have been carried out across different cultural, religious, and political contexts. Until today, however, there are still lack of concrete evidence, which is generated from empirical studies, supportive evidence for any of these hypotheses. Therefor this study aims to investigate the association between religion and popular support for suicide attacks by using a survey data collected from three middle east countries, Egypt, Morocco, and Pakistan. In analysis, a step-wised regression analysis conducted with a set of variety of variables considered to be related with the association. This study found that variables reflecting religious belief hypothesis, such as prayer to God, religious devotion were unrelated to support for suicide attacks. Yet, prayer time predicted reduced supports for suicide attacks. Further, attendance at religious services, thought to enhance coalitional commitment, predicted support for suicide attacks. Yet, it showed negative association with support for suicide attacks. These findings suggest that regular attendance at religious services and regular prayer have combined effects reducing on the willing to support for suicide martyrdom. However, this study findings affirmatively support for neigher religious belief hypothesis nor coalitional commitment hypothesis. Instead, it suggests the needs for further research examination on the relationship as well as corrections of these hypotheses. Finally, Implications for the research findings for preventing suicide attacks are discussed.
The purposes of this dissertation are to demonstrate that DSC theromoanaytical methods of vulcanization can provide useful informations on the vulcanization characteristics of industrial formulations and also provides the potential basis for a rapid and complete method of sulfur and vulcanizing accelerator analysis for quality control. The influences of those factors such as heating rate, scan temperature, vucanizing accelerator's type and concentration upon vulcanization exotherm in NR and NBR compounds in the presence of vulcanizing accelerators such as TMTD,MBTS,DPG,TMTM,CBS, and MBT were evaluated by means of DSC. In order to examine the credibility in the DSC method, the same samples which were used for DSC method were studied to compare the DSC results with the ODR (Oscillating Disk Rheometer) data. The results obtained were as follows 1. In the DSC dynamic experiments, the observed enthalpy results from vulcanization depends upon the heating rate; In the range of 2 to $20^{\circ}C/min$ of heating rate, as the heating rate was increased the enthalpy change was also increased. However, over the heating rate of $30^{\circ}C/min$ it was observed that the enthalpy change was decreased as the heating rate was further increased. Without regard to the change of enthalpy, tremendous instantaneous heat evolving was observed in the range of high heating rates. 2. For the samples which are added with various vulcanizing accelerators, the activation energies of vulcanization were as follows; 3. Regarding to the influences of vulcanizining accelerator's types upon the characteristics of vulcanization exotherm, NR and NBR compounds in the presence of thiuramsulphide compounds type accelerators such as TMTD, TMTM, were exhibited sharper and higher vulclanization exotherm than others. From the resuts of DSC thermograms which was distributed in even shape in the broad temperature range, it was clearly shown that the guanidine compounds type accelerator such as DPG acts as a delayed acting accelerator. 4. In the comparison of DSC and ODR results, the dependency of temperature in the cure rate and the observed conversions show good agreements between two results. 5. In the same curatives, by the comparison of glass transition temperatures, it was possible to predict relative values of maximum torques. Consequently, from the present studies, it is shown that the DSC thermoanalytical method can provide an alternate new method for rapid and complete quality control analysis of rubber industry.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of children's academic stress on school adaptation and to verify whether ego-resilience plays a mediating role in the relationship between academic stress and school adaptation. Based on the data from the 12th year of the Korean Children's Panel (2019), the general characteristics of the main subjects and the mean, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis of the main variables were confirmed through basic statistical analysis, and correlation analysis was conducted between variables. In addition, to examine whether ego-resilience mediated the effect of academic stress on school adaptation, a three-step regression analysis was conducted following the procedure of Baron and Kenny. The results of this study were as follows. First, it was found that children's academic stress, school adaptation, and ego resilience were all significantly correlated. The higher the academic stress, the lower the ego-resilience and school adaptability. Second, it was confirmed that ego-resilience has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between children's academic stress and school adjustment. Ego resilience in the academic stress situation means that it acts as an important mediating factor to flexibly adapt to school life by objectively grasping and coping with the stress situation. Therefore, we need to recognize the need for flexible and resilient individual characteristics so that children can reduce academic stress and adapt well to school life, and seek active interest and intervention plans.
