  • In this article, the author have studied on main revisions and some recommendations of the Incoterms(R) 2010. Main revisions are as belows. 1. Two new Incoterms rules -DAT and DAP- have replaced the Incoterms 2000 rules DAF, DES, DEQ and DDU. 2. New classification of the Incoterms(R) 2010 are adopted. First class is Rules for any mode or modes of transport(EXW, FCA, CPT, CIP, DAT, DAP and DDP belong to this class.) and second class is rules for sea and inland waterway transport(FAS, FOB, CFR and CIF belong to this class.). 3. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules formally recognizes that they are available for application to both international and domestic sale contracts. 4. The Guidance Notes and Introduction are not part of the actual Incoterms(R) 2010 rules. 5. Under the FOB, CFR and CIF, all mention of the ship's rail as the point of delivery has been omitted in preference for the goods being delivered when they are "on board" the vessel. 6. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules include the obligation to 'procure goods shipped' as an alternative to the obligation to ship goods in the relevant Incoterms rules. 7. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules give electronic means of communication the same effect as paper communication. 8. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules have allocated obligations between the buyer and seller to obtain or to render assistance in obtaining security-related clearances. such as chain-of custody information. Some recommendations are as belows. 1. The parties must incorporate the Incoterms(R) 2010 rules into their contract of sale. 2. The parties must choose the appropriate Incoterms(R) 2010 rules. 3. Specify the place or port as precisely as possible in their contract of sale. 4. Remember that Incoterms(R) 2010 rules do not give the parties a complete contract of sale. 5. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules do not prohibit alteration of Incoterms rule, but there are dangers in so doings. In order to avoid any unwelcome surprises, the parties would need to make the intended effect of such alterations extremely clear in their contract.

  • A technology of GEO satellite communications starts from Koreasat program in Korea. Payload equipment of EQM Ku and Ka band transponders had been developed and space-qualified Ka band payload in COMS was successfully launched in June, 2010. For the purpose of military communications, Dehop-Rehop transponder was developed in Koreasat5 as ANASIS system and DAT(Digital Active Transponder) and DCAMP(Digital Channel AMPlifier) transponders are now under development. In this paper, from the study of military satellite communications trend, a direction of military communication satellite is suggested based on the current GEO SATCOM technologies in Korea. Considering the limit of frequency resources, a technology of battlefield adaptive transponder with medium capacity against high moveable jamming tactics would be efficient for the future military SATCOM system. Mid-sized military satellites with frequency hopping and mid-capacity transponders can be a solution of vitalizing the GEO satellite programs.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of application of urea and combination of urea and pig manure compost (PMC) on the occurrence of and the recovery from ammonium ($NH_4{^+}$) toxicity in Chinese cabbage. To identify $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity of the crop four levels of urea at 0, 160, 320, and $480kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ were applied, in addition, three levels of PMC at 10, 20, and $40M/T\;ha^{-1}$ was also applied with urea $320kg\;ha^{-1}$. For recovery $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity, six levels of sucrose were treated at the amount of 0, 600, 1,200, 1,800, 2,400, and $3,000kg\;C\;ha^{-1}$ at each level of combining treatments of urea and PMC. Our results showed that $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity was occurred at every urea application of $320kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ regardless of PMC applied to the soils because $NH_4{^+}$ contents in the soils were more than $155mg\;kg^{-1}$ which was found to be the critical level to damage crop growth at 2 days after transplanting (DAT) in this experiment, the more sucrose was applied up to $1,800kg\;C\;ha^{-1}$ for the plants damaged by ammonium toxicity occurred at $320kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$, the greater extents recover the plants from the toxicity. PMC showed the similar effect with sucrose on recovering Chinese cabbage plants from $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity at 30 DAT.

  • This experiment was conducted to find the most suitable crop establishment method and weed management practices for transplanted aman rice in Bangladesh. Rice variety Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) dhan44 was used as planting materials where three crop establishment methods ($T_1$: direct wet seeding by drum seeder; $T_2$: hand broadcasting; $T_3$: transplanting) and four weeding options ($W_1$: Hand weeding (HW); $W_2$: BRRI weeder+HW; $W_3$: Herbicide+HW; and $W_4$: no weeding) were tested. Among the crop establishment methods, the highest grain yield ($5.12t\;ha^{-1}$) was obtained with the $T_3$, while the highest benefit cost ratio (BCR) of 2.08 was found in $T_2$. In case of the weed management method, $W_1$ showed superior results on the plant $density/m^2$ (139.66) at 60 days after transplanting (DAT), grain yield ($4.97t\;ha^{-1}$), and BCR (2.03). On the other hand, the highest plant dry matter (36.20 g) at 60 DAT and the highest yield ($6.10t\;ha^{-1}$) were obtained in a $T_3W_1$ combination. The results of this study show that the productivity of rice during aman season could be most significantly increased with the use of transplanting ($T_3$) alone, hand weeding ($W_1$) alone, or a combination of the two methods ($T_3W_1$).

  • The telecommunication technology in the 21st century has come up to the standard which could transmit various spatial information by means of on-line and the printing technology using computers has been on a par with presswork in quality. In addition, map users also would like to get various spatial information through on-line directly or indirectly. None the less, the supply system of national base map in our country has maintained the off-line sales method. It is owing to this reason that the nation's supply system has shown a high degree of inefficiency from the viewpoint of the inventory control, rapidity, and economical efficiency as compared with the on-line sales system in the developed countries. This study tried to analyze some problems of the present supply system in order to build up the foundation of the efficient map supply system and also developed the system such as On-demand maps, on-line paying and sales, inventory control, meta dat establishment, and security module, etc. This study tried to analyze some problems of the present supply system in order to build up the foundation of the efficient map supply system and also developed the system such as On-demand maps, on-line paying and sales, inventory control, meta dat establishment, and security module, etc.

  • It is very well known that the conventional polyamide (PA) thin film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis (RO) membranes have excellent permselective properties, but their chlorine tolerance is not good enough. In this study, to improve such chlorine tolerance, microporous membranes containing hydrophilic functional groups such as -COOH were used as a support to prepare PA TFC RO membranes, employing the conventional interfacial polymerization method. Meta-phenylene diamine (MPD) and 2,6-diamine toluene (2,6-DAT) were used as diamine monomers and tri-mesoyl chloride (TMC) as an acid monomer. The membranes prepared were characterized using various instrumental analytical methods and permeation test set-up. The flux obtained from the membranes prepared so was more than $1.0m^3/m^2day$ at 800 psi of operating pressure, while the salt rejection was over 99.0%. The chlorine tolerance of them was also found to be better than that of the membrane prepared by using conventional polysulfone support without hydrophilic functional groups.

  • The effect of biofertilizer (compound of microbial inoculants or groups of micro-organisms) on growth and yield of rice was investigated. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications and 7 treatments namely: $RF=N-P_2O_{5-}K_2O$ (11-5.5-4.8 kg $10a^{-1}$); half of the recommended fertilizer rate, $HRF=N-P_2O_5-K_2O$ (5.5-2.75-2.4 kg $10a^{-1}$); HRF+Bio 250=HRF combined with 250 kg biofertilizer $10a^{-1}$; HRF+Bio 500=HRF combined with 500 kg biofertilizer $10a^{-1}$; Bio 250=250 kg biofertilizer $10a^{-1}$; Bio 500=500 kg biofertilizer $10a^{-1}$; and NF = No Fertilizer. Results showed that the recorded values of plant height, tiller number and chlorophyll content at 40 to 60 days after transplanting (DAT) in HRF+Bio 500 were significantly higher than those recorded in the RF treatment. Similar observations between these two treatments were only recorded from 60 DAT onwards. Yield components were also superior in HRF+Bio 500 treatment and comparable to that of RF. The highest grain yield obtained in HRF+Bio 500 treatment (785.8 kg $10a^{-1}$) was statistically similar to that of RF (739.8 kg $10a^{-1}$) but significantly higher than that of NF (506.7 kg $10a^{-1}$). Finally, head grain recovery (90.9) was low while chalkiness (0.03) was high at HRF+Bio 500 treatment as compared with RF, which were (96.1) and (0.3), respectively. Results showed that combined treatment of HRF and 500 kg biofertilizer $10a^{-1}$ has similar effects on the growth and yield of rice with that of RF.

  • The insecticides MIPC, BPMC, carbofuran and diazinon were treated to the brown planthopper (BPH) , Nilaparvata lugens STAL, at the dose levels of $LD_{10}\;and\;LD_{50}$(by topical application)/at the rate of 40kg/ha (product base) (by dusting or broadcasting on potted rice). The BPH population in the first generation was significantly decreased in the topical treatments compared to the untreatment. The number of BPH offsprings was relatively greater at the dose level of $LD_{10}\;than\;of\;LD_{50}$. The number of nymphs, however, were greatly varied with the insecticides. The offsprings from the BPH treated with the rate of 40kg/ha showed longer nymphal periods and higher adult emergence, but except diazinon treatment, rather less egg-numbers were observed. The BPH population density was significantly decreased in general up to 38 days after treatment(DAT) in the treated pots. Among the insecticides tested, however, only diazinon induced greater number of insects at the 54 DAT compared to the untreated pots.

  • Ground-based remote sensing can be used as one of the non-destructive, fast, and real-time diagnostic tools for predicting yield, biomass, and nitrogen stress during growing season. The objectives of this study were: 1) to assess biomass and nitrogen (N) status of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) plants under N stress using ground-based remote sensors; and 2) to evaluate the feasibility of spectral reflectance indices for estimating an application rate of N and predicting yield of tobacco. Dry weight (DW), N content, and N uptake at the 40th and 50th day after transplanting (DAT) were positively correlated with chlorophyll content and normalized difference vegetation indexes (NDVIs) from all sensors (P<0.01). Especially, Green NDVI (GNDVI) by spectroradiometer and Crop Circle-passive sensors were highly correlated with DW, N content and N uptake. The yield of tobacco was positively correlated with canopy reflectance indices measured at each growth stage (P<0.01). The regression of GNDVI by spectroradiometer on yield showed positively quadratic curve and explained about 90% for the variability of measured yield. The sufficiency index (SI) calculated from data/maximum value of GNDVI at the $40^{th}$ DAT ranged from 0.72 to 1.0 and showed the same positively quadratic regression with N application rate explaining 84% for the variability of N rate. These results suggest that use of reflectance indices measured with ground-based remote sensors may assist in determining application rate of fertilizer N at the critical season and estimating yield in mid-season.

  • An excess application of N fertilizer causes physiological and morphological disorder known as ammonium ($NH_4{^+}$) toxicity in Chinese cabbage and it has been to be an issue for appropriate N fertilizer management. Hence, the pot experiment was conducted in order to evaluate the alleviating effect of the application of the easily decomposable carbohydrate on $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity in Chinese cabbage. Four levels of urea at 0, 160, 320, and $640kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$, represented as T1, T2, T3, and T4, respectively, were applied. In order to evaluate the alleviating effect of the application of the easily decomposable carbohydrate (sucrose) at T3 and T4 where $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity had occurred, five levels of sucrose were applied to meet C/N ratios of 0, 2, 4, 6, and 10, respectively. Our results showed that the $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity was observed at T3 and T4 at 5 days after treatment (DAT). $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity contributed to decrease fresh weight, length of leaves, length of root, and number of leaves significantly (p<0.05). The application of sucrose as a source of mitigating $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity had a good performance at T3 with the alleviating effect as 73 % and reduced in $NH_4{^+}-N$ content in soil at 29 DAT. In the maximum N rate of T4, however, sucrose application recovered it as 32 % only compared to T2 even though the same C/N ratio was treated. Consequently, sucrose as the easily decomposable carbohydrate played crucial role to reduce $NH_4{^+}$ concentration in soil and finally alleviated $NH_4{^+}$ toxicity in plant.
