매끄러운 하상위 난류의 내부 영역 유속 분포 공식 (An Inner Region Velocity-Profile Formula of Turbulent Flows on Smooth Bed)

  • 난류의 내부 영역의 유속은 단순한 공식으로 표현하기 매우 어려운 형태를 가지고 있다. 이 속도 분포를 기술하는 여러 가지 공식들이 제안된 바 있지만, 모든 공식들은 많은 항들을 가지거나 적분형 또는 음함수꼴을 가지고 있다. 이것은 이 식들이 적용하기 힘들거나, 매개 변수들을 추정하기 어렵다는 것을 의미한다. 이 연구에서는 매끄러운 바닥 위를 흐르는 난류 내부 영역의 유속 분포를 표현할 수 있는 간단한 형태의 새로운 공식을 제안하였다. 이 공식은 전통적인 대수 법칙에 감쇄 함수를 곱한 형태이다. 단 하나의 추가적인 매개 변수를 도입하여, 전체 내부 영역의 유속 분포를 적절하게 표현할 수 있었다. 이 공식은 벽법칙이 성립하는 바닥 근처의 유속과 대수 법칙이 성립되는 중복 영역의 유속 분포까지를 적절하게 나타낼 수 있다. 또한, 추가된 매개 변수인 감쇄 계수는 쉽게 추정할 수 있다. 이 변수는 Reynolds 수의 변화에 민감하지 않으며, 공식에 의하여 계산된 유속 분포도 또한 이 매개 변수의 변화에 대해서 민감하지 않다.

  • A railway catenary system which supplies a train with electric power is an important system in determining the maximum speed of an electric train. However, a pantograph could be separated from a contact wire because of reciprocal action between a pantograph with constant upward force and a catenary system. The contact loss of a pantograph-catenary system is mainly affected by the dynamic characteristics of damping and wave propagation velocity of contact wire. For increasing speed of an electrical train, it is necessary to establish the techniques to identify the modal parameter of a catenary system through experiment. However, it is difficult to decouple each mode and to extract respect ive damping rat io since a catenary system has an extremely high modal density. For this reason, mode decoupling process to identify modal parameters is a principal technique in analyzing a catenary system. In this paper, the damping extract ion method for a catenary system using the continuous wavelet transform is discussed.

Simplified procedure for seismic analysis of base-isolated structures

  • Base isolation is an effective method for protecting structures against earthquake hazard. It elongates the period of vibration and introduces supplemental damping to the structural system. The stiffness, damping and displacement are coupled forcing the code seismic design procedure to be unnecessarily complicated. In addition, the force reduction factor -a key parameter in the design procedurehas not been well addressed by seismic design codes at the high levels of damping due to the pronounced difference between pseudo and actual accelerations. In this study, a comparison has been conducted to evaluate eight different methods, in the literature, for calculating the force reduction factor due to damping. Accordingly, a simplified seismic analysis procedure has been proposed based on the well documented N2 method. Comprehensive analysis has been performed for base-isolated structure models for direct application and verification of the proposed procedure. The results have been compared with those of the European code EC8, the nonlinear time history analysis and investigations in the literature, where good agreement has been reported. In addition, a discussion has been elaborated for the resulted response of the base-isolated structure models with respect to the dynamic characteristics of the base isolation system.

기공을 포함한 피로손상 알루미늄 6061-T6의 초음파 특성평가 (Ultrasonic linear and nonlinear properties of fatigued aluminium 6061-T6 with voids)

  • 알루미늄 6061-T6는 $Mg_2Si$${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$로 구성되며, 피로 손상도가 증가하면 ${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$주변에서 기공이 발생하고 성장하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 우선 알루미늄 6061-T6 시편에 대한 SEM 촬영을 통해 이러한 현상을 확인하였다. 이후, 피로 손상도에 따라 이 시편의 전위댐핑 (dislocation damping), 정합변형률 (coherency strain), 및 기공 (void)이 감쇠계수와 비선형인자에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 관찰하였다. 그 결과 비선형인자는 피로 손상도가 증가에 따라 증가하다가 피로수명 75% 이후에서는 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 이는 전위댐핑과 정합변형률이 증가할수록 비선형인자는 증가하지만, 기공이 증가하면 초음파의 산란이 커져 비선형인자가 감소하는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 따라서, 피로에 따라 조직변화가 복잡하게 나타나는 재료의 열화 평가에 있어서는 비선형인자를 주의하여 활용하여야 한다는 결론을 얻었다.

This algorithm are consist of a recurrent incremental credit assignment (ICRA) neural network and a genetic algorithm. The ICRA neural network evaluates each member of a generation of model and genetic algorithm produces new generation of model. We manufactured electro-hydraulic servo system and the hybrid neural-genetic multimodel parameter estimation algorithm is applied to the task to find the parameter values(mass, damping coefficient, bulk modulus, spring coefficient) which minimize total square error.

  • The styling of automobile wheels and their effect on vehicle appearance has increased in importance in recent years. The wheel designer has been given the task of insuring that a wheel design meets its engineering objectives without affecting the styling theme. The wheel and tire system is considered as a vehicle component whose dynamic modal information of the tire/wheel system are employed in the modal synthesis model of the vehicle. The vibration characteristics of a automobile wheel play an important role to judge a ride comfort and quality for a automobile. In this paper, the vibration characteristics of a Al-alloy and steel wheel for automobile are studied. Natural frequency, damping and mode shape are determined experimentally by frequency response function method. Results show that wheel material property, size and design are parameter for shift of natural frequency and damping.

  • This paper proposes new series and parallel Sin+Cos PSS(power system stabilizer) for the purpose to improve the existing PSS1A's performance. The purpose of PSS is used to enhance damping of power system oscillations through injection of auxiliary signal for an excitation control terminal. The Proposed series and Parallel Sin+Cos PSS is connected adding the Sin+Cos terms additionally with serial and with parallel connection in a conventional PSS1A. The proposed controller is aim to considering of a damping of oscillation when it changes parameter fluctuations or operational load variations in a power system. The object of electric power system is KEPCO system and the voltage of power transmission line is a 154kV and a 345kV. The PSCAD/EMTDC package is used to authorize the effect of the proposed controller. Simulations were shown by and compared with the waveforms for frequency, voltage and electric power.
