3D 스캔과 FLACS를 활용한 화학플랜트 가스 누출의 계절별 위험성 및 피해영향 평가 (A Seasonal Risk Analysis and Damage Effects Assessment by Gas Leakage of Chemical Plant using 3D Scan and FLACS)

  • 현대 화학 플랜트는 공정 및 설비가 복잡화, 세분화됨으로써 대규모 잠재 위험성이 증가하는 실정이다. 내부 화학물질이 난류, 층류, 압력, 온도, 마찰 등으로 인해 여러 조건하에 운영될 때 과도한 응력이 발생하고 이러한 발생 응력이 누적되면서 피로 등의 문제로 화학 설비 및 장치가 손상되거나 파열될 가능성이 존재한다. 사고통계에 따르면 여름철 화학 사고의 발생 빈도는 다른 계절에 비해 높게 나타나며 최근 5년간 발생한 화학 사고에서 누출에 의한 사고는 유형별 사고 중 압도적인 비율을 차지한다. 화학물질의 누출은 폭발 및 환경오염을 포함한 큰 인명 및 경제적 피해를 일으킬 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 계절별로 화학 플랜트 배관 누출 시 위험성 및 피해영향 평가를 수행하기 위해 실제 프로필렌 누출사고 현장을 3D 스캐너를 활용하여 재구성하고 FLACS를 활용하여 계절별 최대농도, 끝점거리 및 확산 거동을 비교 분석함으로써 프로필렌의 계절별 누출 거동을 도출하였다. 그 결과 여름에 화학물질이 누출될 경우 다른 계절에 비해 위험성이 크게 나타나는 것을 확인하였으며 이를 통해 계절별 안전관리 대책 및 방안을 제시하였다.

Full-scale investigations into installation damage of nonwoven geotextiles

  • Due to the importance of soil reinforcement using geotextiles in geotechnical engineering, study and investigation into long-term performance, design life and survivability of geotextiles, especially due to installation damage are necessary and will affect their economy. During installation, spreading and compaction of backfill materials, geotextiles may encounter severe stresses which can be higher than they will experience in-service. This paper aims to investigate the installation damage of geotextiles, in order to obtain a good approach to the estimation of the material's strength reduction factor. A series of full-scale tests were conducted to simulate the installation process. The study includes four deliberately poorly-graded backfill materials, two kinds of subgrades with different CBR values, three nonwoven needle-punched geotextiles of classes 1, 2 and 3 (according to AASHTO M288-08) and two different relative densities for the backfill materials. Also, to determine how well or how poorly the geotextiles tolerated the imposed construction stresses, grab tensile tests and visual inspections were carried out on geotextile specimens (before and after installation). Visual inspections of the geotextiles revealed sedimentation of fine-grained particles in all specimens and local stretching of geotextiles by larger soil particles which exerted some damage. A regression model is proposed to reliably predict the installation damage reduction factor. The results, obtained by grab tensile tests and via the proposed models, indicated that the strength reduction factor due to installation damage was reduced as the median grain size and relative density of the backfill decreases, stress transferred to the geotextiles' level decreases and as the as-received grab tensile strength of geotextile and the subgrades' CBR value increase.

  • Objective The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between the Cold-damage Six-meridian disease of Qibo (岐伯六經病證) and Sasang Constitutional Symptomatology (四象體質病證), presented in Discourse on the Origin of Eastern Medicine (醫源論) of Longevity and Life Preservation in Eastern Medicine (Donguisusebowon, 東醫壽世保元). Method The process of development from Cold-damage Six-meridian disease of Qibo (岐伯六經病證) to Six Meridians Physical Symptoms and Medicines (六經形證用藥) in the chapter Cold(寒門) of the Treasure Mirror of Eastern Medicine (Donguibogam, 東醫寶鑑) was investigated. And the correlation between Six Meridians Physical Symptoms and Medicines (六經形證用藥) and Sasang Constitutional Symptomatology (四象體質病證) was considered. Results and Conclusions 1. The Cold-damage Six-meridian disease of Qibo (岐伯六經病證) in the chapter Heat Treatise (熱論篇) of Basic Questions (素問) had evolved into Six Meridians Physical Symptoms and Medicines (六經形證用藥) in the chapter Cold(寒門) of the Treasure Mirror of Eastern Medicine (Donguibogam, 東醫寶鑑) through Book for Life Saving (Huorenshu, 活人書), a work of Zhu Gong (朱肱), Six Books on Cold Damage disease (Shanghanliushu, 傷寒六書), a work of Tao Hua (陶華) and Introduction to Medicine (YixueRumen, 醫學入門), a work of Li Chan (李梴). 2. The correlation between the Cold-damage Six-meridian disease of Qibo (岐伯六經病證) and Sasang Constitutional Symptomatology (四象體質病證) can be analyzed and understood through Six Meridians Physical Symptoms and Medicines (六經形證用藥) in the chapter Cold(寒門) of the Treasure Mirror of Eastern Medicine (Donguibogam, 東醫寶鑑). 3. Greater Yang meridian disease of Qibo (岐伯) is related to Soyangin early stage of Lesser-Yang Wind-Injury symptomatology and Soyangin early stage of Chest-Heat symptomatology, Yang Brightness meridian disease and Greater Yin meridian disease to Taeeumin Liver-Heat symptomatology, Lesser Yin meridian disease to Soyangin Chest-Heat symptomatology, Lesser Yang meridian disease to Soyangin early stage of Lesser-Yang Wind-Injury symptomatology and Reverting Yin meridian disease to Soeumin Reverting Yin symptomatology of Greater Yang disease.

  • 복합재료 중에서 SMC(sheet molding compound) 복합재료는 자동차의 차체 성형에 주로 쓰이고 있다. 자동차 산업에서는 차량 사고를 고려하여야 하므로 재료의 충돌 거동 및 특성에 관한 연구는 필수적이다. 충돌은 짧은 시간에 일어나기 때문에 육안으로 확인이 어렵다. 따라서 충돌 거동을 확인하기 위해서는 유한요소 모델을 이용한 충돌 손상 해석이 필요하다. 충돌 손상 해석을 위해서는 SMC 복합재료의 손상 모델에 대한 파라메터가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 SMC 복합재료의 손상 모델에 대한 파라메터를 획득하기 위해 인공신경망 기법을 적용하였다. LS-DYNA에서 파라메터에 따른 결과를 이용하여 대체 모델을 구성하였다. 자유 낙하 충돌 실험에서 얻은 흡수 에너지와 인공신경망 모델을 이용한 흡수 에너지를 비교하여 최적화된 파라메터를 획득하였다. 획득한 파라메터를 유한요소 모델에 적용해 결과를 비교하여 파라메터의 신뢰성을 검증하였다.

영상 기반 항만시설물 손상 위치 추정 및 외관조사망도 작성 (Estimation of Image-based Damage Location and Generation of Exterior Damage Map for Port Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 영상 기반 자동화된 항만시설물 점검을 위한 손상 위치 정보 추정 기법을 제안하였다. 3D 모델링 과정을 거치지 않고 특징 탐지 기술 및 이상치 제거 기술을 활용하여 호모그래피 행렬을 계산하고 손상 정보만 저장함으로써 메모리 효율을 높였다. 항만시설물에 특화된 손상 위치 정보 추정 알고리즘 개발을 위해 항만시설물 이미지를 이용하여 제작한 참값 좌표쌍을 통해 알고리즘을 최적화하였다. 이를 샘플 및 실제 콘크리트 벽체에 적용하여 구한 위치 오차는 각각 (X: 6.5cm, Y: 1.3cm), (X: 12.7cm, Y: 6.4cm)로 나타났다. 또한, 실제 콘크리트벽체를 대상으로 알고리즘을 적용하여 외관조사망도 형태로 표출함으로써 제안 기법의 현장 활용 가능성을 보였다.

Decision-making of alternative pylon shapes of a benchmark cable-stayed bridge using seismic risk assessment

  • One of the main applications of seismic risk assessment is that an specific design could be selected for a bridge from different alternatives by considering damage losses alongside primary construction costs. Therefore, in this paper, the focus is on selecting the shape of pylon, which is a changeable component in the design of a cable-stayed bridge, as a double criterion decision-making problem. Different shapes of pylons include H, A, Y, and diamond shape, and the two criterion are construction costs and probable earthquake losses. In this research, decision-making is performed by using developed seismic risk assessment process as a powerful method. Considering the existing uncertainties in seismic risk assessment process, the combined incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) and uniform design (UD) based fragility assessment method is proposed, in which the UD method is utilized to provide the logical capacity models of the structure, and the IDA method is employed to give the probabilistic seismic demand model of structure. Using the aforementioned models and by defining damage states, the fragility curves of the bridge system are obtained for the different pylon shapes usage. Finally, by combining the fragility curves with damage losses and implementing the proposed cost-loss-benefit (CLB) method, the seismic risk assessment process is developed with financial-comparative approach. Thus, the optimal shape of the pylon can be determined using double criterion decision-making. The final results of decision-making study indicate that the optimal pylon shapes for the studied span of cable-stayed bridge are, respectively, H shape, diamond shape, Y shape, and A shape.

수소 Tube Trailer 저장시설에서의 수소가스 누출에 따른 사고피해예측에 관한 연구 (A Study of Damage Assessment Caused by Hydrogen Gas Leak in Tube Trailer Storage Facilities)

  • 산업현장에서 폭발성가스의 사용이 꾸준이 증가 함에 따라 작업자는 물론 일반지역주민들에까지 사고로 인한 생명에 위험을 처하기도 한다. 수소사용공정에서의 사고피해는 공정자체에 국한 되는 것이 아니라 대형화재나 폭발로 이어져 다수의 사상자를 유발시키므로 사고의 유형과 원인을 규명하고 피해규모를 예측하여 이에 대한 안전대책을 수립, 운영하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 MLCC(Multi Layer Ceramic Capacitor) 소성공정의 수소저장 사용시설에서 화재 폭발시 위험범위를 예측하였다. 실제 사고데이터의 분석결과 사고발생빈도가 가장 많은 배관누출에 대하여 사고 피해예측 시나리오 모델로 선정, 적용하였다. 10 mm Hole에서 120 Bar의 압력으로 수소가스 누출시 Jet fire가 발생되며 Radiation Level 4($kw/m^2$)의 경우 최대 12.45 m까지 복사열의 영향을 주었다. 또한 사고피해 예측을 통한 안전성확보와 개선방안을 제시하였다.

  • The assessment of catastrophic accidents such as BLEVE, vapor cloud explosion, and toxic material releases in the chemical process industries(CPI) shall be carried out according to the Requirement of PSM/SMS enforced by Korea Government Agencies, but reasonable models are not proposed for the practical application. The traditional models, TNT Equivalency Model, are well-known and helpful for the assessment of vapor cloud explosion. However, the estimated-damage-area using the traditional model has much more deviations comparing to the real damage caused by vapor cloud explosion suffered before. These are why an expert system for the assessment of vapor cloud explosion has been developed, which is based on theoretical, statistical and experimental data, and it would be helpful for CPI to evaluate the damage-area in case of vapor cloud explosion.

  • Ion shower doping using a source gas of $PH_3/H_2$ was conducted on excimer-laser-annealed (ELA) Poly-Si. As-implanted damage is accumulated more and more with the increase of an acceleration voltage and a doping time. In this study we found that dopant-activation is relatively a rapid kinetic-process while damage-recovery is not.

  • According to the epidemiological studies in chromium workers, hexavalent chromium is associated with the risk of lung cancer. Cellular oxidative damages by reactive oxygen species produced by hexavalent chromium exposure may play an important role in the carcinogenesis process. We investigated the availabilities of malondialdehyde measurement for the assessments of oxidative damages from chromium exposure with an experimental inhalation study in vivo. Lipid peroxidation, one kind of cellular oxidative damage, was measured in blood plasma of the rats which inhaled the hexavalent chromium mist for 1, 2 and 3 weeks. The concentrations of malondialdehyde (MDA), the metabolite of lipid peroxidation, in all exposed groups were higher than those of controls with dose-dependant manner. The levels of MDA were also correlated with urine chromium levels of the rats. Therefore, MDA as an indicator of lipid peroxidation could be proper biologic marker for the assessment of the oxidative damage from chromium exposure, which might be involved in carcinogenesis.
