고객 보상프로그램의 효율적 구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficiently Designing Customer Rewards Programs)

  • 본 연구는 보상프로그램의 구성에 관한 연구이다. 이를 위해 재무가치적 보상프로그램과 서비스 가치적 보상프로그램에 대한 관여수준별 선호도를 분석하였다. 또한 보상 프로그램의 평가모드(SE, JE)에 따라 선호도가 어떻게 달라지는지를 파악하였다. 실험결과 관여수준에 따라 보상프로그램에 대한 선호도는 일부 차이를 보이고 있으며 결합된 보상프로그램에 대한 선호도가 높게 나타나고 있었다. 여기서 특이한 점은 재무적 보상프로그램에 서비스 보상프로그램이 결합되는 경우에 고객들은 보상프로그램에 대해 보다 더 높은 선호도를 보이고 있어, 기존 재무보상 중심에서 벗어나 서비스 보상프로그램에 대한 관심을 제고시킬 필요가 있다. 이는 기존 기업들이 비용에 대한 부담을 갖고 있으면서도 비차별적이로 획일적인 보상프로그램을 진행하는 방식에서 새로운 보상프로그램을 구성하는 계기가 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

패션업체 고객 충성도 구축을 위한 로열티 프로그램 (A Study on Loyalty Program for Building Customer Loyalty of Fashion Firm)

  • The purposes of this study were to provide the apparel companies with a effective marketing strategy by identifying the present condition of loyalty programs and designing the type of reward and the timing of reward, and to investigate the effects of loyalty programs on customers' satisfaction and loyalty. The experimental study was conducted to examine the relationship between loyalty programs and performances. The experiment, which adopted a scenario methodology, was a 2(type of rewards)${\times}$2(timing of rewards) between subjects factorial design. The sample was based on 362 college students. The data analysis was completed on the basis of SPSS 12.0 package, using descriptive analysis, frequency, factor analysis, Cronbach's a, ANOVA, and regression analysis. The following results were found in this research. First the respondent's recognition of reward(benefit, reserve fund, experience) was not relatively high. Second, the interaction effect of type of rewards and timing of rewards on the loyalty programs' satisfaction(p<.01) and customer loyalty(p<.001) was significant, but that on customer satisfaction was not significant. Finally, loyalty programs' satisfaction positively affected customer satisfaction and loyalty. The implications of the research and directions for future researchers were discussed.

유통 업태별 고객보상프로그램 실태 조사 (The Study on Customer Loyalty Programs of Retailers)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate customer loyalty programs of diverse types of retailers. As offline retailers, department store and discount store retailers were examined, and as nonstore retailers, online store and TV home shopping retailers were investigated. Types of customer loyalty programs were analyzed based on Dowling and Uncles'(1997) loyalty program framework which included two schemes, types of reward(direct versus indirect rewards) and timing of reward(immediate versus delayed rewards). The study found that different types of retailers utilized different types of loyalty programs: Department store used all the type of rewards, discount store focused on direct/immediate rewards, online store retailers used direct/delayed rewards and/or direct/immediate rewards, and TV home shopping retailers focused on direct/delayed rewards. The study provided diverse managerial and academic implications.

로열티 포인트 사용행동과 고객생애가치(Customer Lifetime Value) 분석 (The Redemption Behavior of Loyalty Points and Customer Lifetime Value)

  • The main objective of this research is to investigate whether the RFM (recency-frequency-monetary value) information of a customer's redemption behavior of loyalty points can improve the prediction of future value of the customer. The conventional measurement of customer value has been primarily based on purchase transactions behavior although a customer's future behavior can be also influenced by other interactions between the customer and the firm such as redemption of rewards in a loyalty program. We theorize why a customer's redemption behavior can influence her future purchases and thereby the customer's total value based on operant learning theory, goal gradient hypothesis, and lock-in effect. Using a dataset from a major book store in Korea spanning three years between 2008 and 2010, we analyze both purchase transactions and redemption records of over 10,000 customers. The results show that the redemption-based RFM information does improve the prediction accuracy of the customer's future purchases. Based on this result, we also propose an improved estimate of customer lifetime value (CLV) by combining purchase transactions and loyalty points redemption data. Managerial implications will be also discussed for firms managing loyalty programs to maximize the total value customers.

항공사 마일리지 적립의도에 따른 FFPs 보상서비스 선호가치 분석 (Analysis on Preference Values for Reward Services of FFPs by Intention of Mileage Accumulation)

  • This paper focuses on frequent flyer programs (FFPs), which have long been used by most airlines as a powerful marketing tool. Since the preference for FFPs reward services and the customer perceived values of mileage points differ among FFPs members, airlines should design a customer-oriented reward service based on customer preference to motivate the use of mileage points. The intention for using mileage points is affected by various kinds of attributes such as reword items, consuming mileage points for rewards and time of usage. In this paper, we focus on evaluating customer perceived values of attributes of FFPs reward services. A conjoint analysis model is applied to get the preference value of each attribute. Some empirical experiments are conducted in relation to Korean customers. From the empirical survey, the preference values of attributes are evaluated for different scenarios with respect to the number of mileage points. With the preference values of attributes, we can find several implications for airlines regarding the development of various FFPs strategies.

온-오프라인 채널에서 운영하는 고객보상프로그램의 보상채널과 보상시점에 따른 효과 분석 -백화점과 온라인 종합몰을 중심으로- (The Effect of Reward Channel and Reward Time of Customer Loyalty Programs for On-offline Channels -Focusing on Department Stores and Online Shopping Stores-)

  • The study examined the main effect of the reward channel and reward time of customer loyalty programs for on-offline shopping channels; in addition, it investigated the interaction effect of the reward channels and merchandise as well as the interaction effect of the reward time and merchandise. An online apparel shopping web experiment was conducted with a 2 (reward channel: online channel reward vs. offline channel reward) ${\times}2$ (reward time: immediate vs. delayed) ${\times}2$ (merchandise: online channel product vs. offline channel products) between-subject factorial design. An online shopping channel was considered the core-shopping channel and a department store was considered the cross-shopping channel. Loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty and cross-channel loyalty were measured as dependent variables. A total of 845 shoppers (who had experiences in shopping in both channels) participated in the experiment. The results of the study revealed (1) the main effect of the reward channel on loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty and cross-channel loyalty [online>offline channel rewards], (2) the main effect of reward time on loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty and cross-channel loyalty [immediate>delayed reward], and (3) the interaction effect of the reward channel and merchandise on loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty, and cross-channel loyalty. (4) Finally the study found that loyalty program value affected cross-channel loyalty indirectly through core-channel loyalty. This study suggested diverse theoretical and managerial implications for multi-channel retailers.

A Study on the Role of Locomotion Orientation as an Antecedent of Salespeople' Selling Behavior

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the locomotion orientation on salespeople' sales performance with the mediating effect of selling behavior(adaptive selling behavior, SOCO). And we figure out the relationship between customer-oriented selling behavior and adaptive selling behavior because those relationships are not clear. The authors infer research hypotheses based on literature review. We have confirmed the reliability and validity test and those results can be acceptable. Hypotheses test were conducted with structural equation modeling, AMOS. All paths in the research model reasoned by authors have been supported statistically at the significant level. This study with the theoretical implications is as follows. First, this study is the first attempt to investigate the path between locomotion orientation and adaptive selling behavior and SOCO. Secondly, there is an empirical conflict between our study and Franke and Park(2006)'s study. Our study was contradictory to Franke and Park(2006)'s consequences. And so, figuring out clearly those causal paths remains. This study with practical implications are as follows. First of all, the salespeople' selling performance was affected by adaptive selling behavior, customer-oriented selling behavior, and sales-oriented activities, such as the importance of selling behavior once again proven. It is necessary to enhance the capabilities that can be transformed into action appropriate to the needs of customers each sales step-by-step in the process of salespeople for various system through education and incentives, and to interact with customers and understand their customers relative to salespeople will. In order to enhance adaptive selling behavior, the company needs to do educational program and monitoring system with the positional promotion when salespeople get the high adaptive selling behavior. Secondly, the locomotion orientation of the salespeople is to cause this selling behavior. Management style to increase locomotion orientation is needed, which means, salespeople' superior about something should be conducted. In order to stimulate the selling behavior of the salespeople, most supervisors should use some managerial tools such as feedback, engagement, and rewards.

Employee Expectation to Demonstrate Innovative Work Behaviour in Asia

  • The competitive nature of enterprises requires organizations to foster an environment that encourages employee innovation that leads to profitability and customer satisfaction. Organizational innovation is influenced by several factors with employee behaviour being one of the important factors. Employees contribute in the innovation process and thus, it is important for organizations to understand employee expectations to demonstrate innovative work behaviour in order to create and maintain an innovative work culture. In the present study, a conceptual model based on culture, reward and program, training, compensations, leadership and systems was tested to assess that impact on employee expectations leading to innovative work behaviour. The study was conducted in the context of city-state of Singapore due to its significant emphasis on promoting and nurturing employee innovation. The model was tested using empirical data collected through a survey of employees in Singapore. The results indicate that while culture, rewards and training programs have a direct relationship on employee expectations to demonstrate innovative work behaviour, when considered together, leadership and systems are significantly and positively associated with employee expectations. These factors are usually under the control of organizations and can be enhanced through systematic interventions, thereby providing practice managers an avenue to improve employee innovation behaviour. The other implications of the findings and future scope are discussed.

항공자유화정책상 상용고객우대제도의 제휴성과와 국제경쟁에 관한 연구 (Open Skies Policy : A Study on the Alliance Performance and International Competition of FFP)

  • 국제운송에 있어서 항공자유화 정책(open skies police)은 하늘의 자유 또는 하늘의 개방이란 의미를 내포하고 있다. 규범적으로 여러 형태의 운송권을 타 국가에 허용하는 개방 정책이나 국제 항공운송에 있어서 자유경쟁 정책이다. 미국의 경우, 1978년 항공규제완화 이후 경쟁력을 갖춘 대형 항공사들이 시장 기회가 많은 국제 항공시장에서 경쟁할 수 있도록 하기위해 네델란드와 항공자유화 협정을 체결한 것을 시작으로 많은 국가들이 항공자 유화 협정을 맺고 있으며, 우리나라의 경우는 20여개국과 항공자유화 협정을 체결하고 있는 상태이다. 상용고객우대제도(Frequent Flyer Program : FFP)는 미국 정부의 항공법 규제 완화 이후 항공 운임 전략의 일환으로 포괄적 마케팅 제휴의 한 부분이다. 자사 항공편을 이용하는 고객을 회원제로 관리하는 제도로서, 승객들의 탑승이나 기타 이용 실적에 따라 마일리지를 부여하여 누적된 마일리지가 일정한 기준에 도달하면 다양한 유형적 보상을 실시하는 개념이다. 상용고객 우대제도는 초창기에는 고객확보를 위한 마케팅 중심으로 형성되었으나, 항공사간의 치열한 경쟁으로 인해 경영이 점점 더 어려워지고 있는 상황에서 항공사들은 상용고객우대제도를 항공사 경영성과를 높이는 마케팅의 중요한 전략의 수단으로 활용하고 있다. 따라서 항공사들은 충성고객을 확보하기 위해 고객의 니즈를 효과적으로 파악할 필요가 있다고 판단한다. 항공사 상용고객우대제도에 따른 성과가 국제 경쟁에 미치는 영향은 다양하게 나타날 수 있다. 첫째, 노선망을 확대를 통해 항공 시장을 확보할 수 있다. 둘째, 운항빈도를 증대시킴에 따라 고객에게 항공 상품의 공급 능력을 증대시키게 될 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 새로운 시장에 우선적으로 진입함으로써 경쟁 항공사를 견제하는 효과가 나타날 것 이라고 생각한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 항공사 상용고객우대제도에 대한 실증적 연구는 매우 미비하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 상용고객우대제도의 전략적 제휴 유형을 검토한 후 이의 제휴 성과와 국제경쟁에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 주요 국가들의 항공사 전략적 제휴는 항공자유화 정책상 세계적인 추세이다. 우리나라의 경우에도 국적 항공사들의 발전과 경쟁력 확보를 위해서는 보다 더 현실적인 항공자유화 협정이 진행되어야 할 것이다. 본 논문은 항공자유화 정책 상 항공사 상용고객우대제도의 제휴 성과와 국제경쟁에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구에서는 5개 글로벌 제휴 그룹(star, oneworld, wings, qualiflyer, skyteam)을 대상으로 선정하여 제휴 그룹의 항공사가 보유한 자원구조와 정보기술수준이 제휴 유형에 미치는 성과에 대한 실증 연구를 실시하고자 하였으며 가설 검정을 위해 일원분산분석과 회귀분석을 사용하였다. 규모가 큰 대형항공사 이거나 중소 규모의 지역 항공사일지라도 세계적인 네트워크 와 조직력을 갖춘 제휴 그룹에 참여하는 항공사는 높은 성과와 국제 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있다고 판단한다. 항공사 승객의 경우, 회원 가입항공사의 호텔과 렌트카, 면세점, 여행사 등의 제휴 네트워크를 활용하여 항공사 탑승 이외의 마일리지 획득하는 것외에도 관련된 서비스 혜택에 대한 관심과 선호도가 높으므로, 우리나라의 항공사들은 항공사간 제휴뿐 만 아니라 호텔 등 타 산업과의 다각적으로 제휴를 통해 공격적 마케팅을 실행해야 한다.
