  • The low magnetic field standard below 1 mT with resolution of 100 nT has been established for the calibration and testing of low field magnetometers. A precision single layered solenoid, which is made of quartz tube and bare copper wire, was constructed in order to generate a precise magnetic field. To improve the field homogeneity in the solenoid, three-current method was employed. The injected current and injection points on the solenoid were optimized by computer simulation. The magnetic field uncertainty in the solenoid was 0.1 % and 0.01 % in the range of ${\pm}5\;cm$ from the center for a single and three-current methods respectively. We also constructed a testing system for the dynamic properties of low field magnetometers.

  • The almost pole transformers are constructed with tank, cover, clamp etc., that contains the insulation oil, core, coil, terminals, bus and the other accessories. If some fault current will be flown by some trouble or accident, interior pressure of the transformer shall be very quickly rise, and mechanical components or insulation oil from the transformer enclosure shall be propelled or dropped from the tank. For the prevention of the above accident, recently the pole transformers should be done 'the Design Tests for Fault Current Capability' according to ANSI C57.12.20(1997) There are two tests method in this standard, Test Number I with a high current arcing fault, without internal fusible elements, shall be conducted on rack enclosure with its minimum designed air space. Test Number II with an internal fusible element, shall be conducted on each enclosure diameter utilizing the internal fusible elements. KEPCO recently request to be done the 'Design Tests for Fault Current Capability' for pole transformers according to KEPCO's standard ES141-$533{\sim}545$, PS141-$482{\sim}518$ and RS141-$611{\sim}628$ that is same with Test Number I of ANSI C57.12.20.

  • The effect of Si content in welding wires on th arc stability was investigate, in the region of short circuit transfer and spray transfer. In the region of short circuit transfer, with increasing Si content, average arcing time and average short circuit time were increased. Therefore, droplet transfer frequency was decreased, due to the increase of arcing time and peak current at the moment of arc-reiginition was increased, due to the increase of short circuit time. In the region of spray transfer, the fluctuations of arc current and arc voltage was the most stable in wire with Si content of about 00.60 wt.%.

  • We have developed an evaluation technique for ratio errors of current transformer (CT) comparator by using the precise standard capacitors. By applying this technique for equivalent circuit of CT comparator evaluation system, we can obtain the calculated and measured ratio errors in the CT comparator. Thus we can evaluate ratio errors of CT comparator by comparing the calculated and measured ratio errors. Because this method requires only the standard capacitors, it is simple and easy method to reliability and accuracy maintenance of CT comparator. The method was applied to CT comparator under test with the ratio error ranges of $0{\sim}{\pm}10%$. The ratio error of the CT comparator under test theoretically obtained in this method are consistent with that measured for same CT comparator under test by using wide ratio error CT within an estimated expanded uncertainty (k = 2) in the overall ratio error ranges.

  • This paper deals with the current phonological theory named the elementary theory Before manipulating this theory with highest depth, we need to discuss the distinctive feature theory which can be estimated as playing a central role in the standard generative trends. En the element-based phonological theory, the followings might act as tile main traits in differentiating it from other theories: the notion of phonological opposition is regarded as privative one, treating the univalent element as an analysing unit in a phonological process instead of distinctive features, and the nile convention in standard theory is replaced by the element. In chapter 2, a brief history of generative theory is to be described with respect to the merits and demerits of the distinctive feature theory. In chapter 3, After dealing with the current tendency and some prominent aspects of each element theory, a couple of problems thought to be confronted by the distinctive feature theory And the analysing method taken from the element-based theory which may be regarded currently as the alternative to the problems mentioned above will be discussed mainly, The government-based theory introduced by KLV(1985, 1988) may be the main target in discussing the current topic.

  • Calibration procedure of high-current measuring system has been promoted to ensure the traceability of national of international standard with the similar method of high-voltage measuring system. This paper introduces general procedure to establish the traceability and type & performance tests for current-voltage transformer, transmission system, recorder and evaluation procedure as the result of intercomparison tests performed 7 laboratories of Europe, and introduces briefly the test method of itemized list from type & performance tests. So we would apply the standard as the criteria that can be enforced temporarily in korea.

  • The electrical separation joint as a filter circuit distributes the track circuit frequency. The electrical separation joint is classified into the interval where reinforcing bars are insulated and not insulated through the length of track circuit. In case of incorrectly setting up the length of electrical separation joint, the amplitude of current on the track circuit is not over standard current which is the standard of current on the track circuit and it effects on the close frequency on track circuit. Then, it makes an accident or makes a train not receive information for train control. In this paper, the electrical separation joint model is suggested and parameters are numerically calculated in the model. Moreover, the length of electrical separation joint is analyzed and is demonstrated by uisng Matlab and PSpice program.

  • This paper presents the design considerations and analysis for an interleaved boundary conduction mode power factor correction buck converter. A thorough analysis of the harmonic content of the AC line current is presented to examine the allowable voltage gain (K value) for meeting the EN61000-3-2, Class D standard while maximizing efficiency. The results of the harmonic analysis are used to derive the required value of K and therefore the output voltage necessary to meet the class D requirements for a given AC line voltage. The discussed design consideration and harmonic current analysis are verified on a 300W universal line experimental prototype converter with an 80V output. The measured efficiencies remain above 96% down to 20% of the full load. The input current harmonics also meet the IEC61000-3-2 (class D) standard.

  • We are developing meander-shaped metallic magnetic calorimeters using micro-fabrication methods. A planar Nb coil in a meander shape was fabricated on a Si substrate. The coil was designed to have a persistent current using a metal heater evaporated on a part of the coil. A paramagnetic sensor, $5{\mu}m$ thick Au:Er foil, was glued on top of the meander structure with epoxy. The magnetization and heat capacity were measured at different temperatures, and applied field currents matched well with expected values. The detector showed an energy resolution of 4 keV FWHM for the 5.5 MeV alpha particles.

  • This paper describes a preliminary investigation of contracts with a view towards automating the process of contract match-making. A novel approach based on exploiting Standard Form Contracts(SFC) is described. The approach is shown to be implementable with current technology. A second approach based on Standard Contract Clauses(SCC) which overcomes some of the limitations of Standard Form Contracts, is briefly outlined. The flexibility offered by this approach however, is accompanied by a considerable increase in the complexity of contract match-making. Both Standard Form Contracts and Standard Contract Clauses based match-making point towards an exciting area of future research.
