인지 무선 애드혹 네트워크에서 경로 신뢰성을 고려한 효율적인 라우팅 기법 (An Efficient Routing Protocol Considering Path Reliability in Cognitive Radio Ad-hoc Networks)

  • 인지무선 애드혹 네트워크(Cognitive Radio Ad-hoc Networks)에서 요구기반 라우팅을 수행할 경우, 경로 탐색 과정에서 발생하는 경로탐색 메시지의 브로드캐스팅은 공통 제어 채널의 과부하를 유발하고 패킷 간의 충돌을 발생시킨다. 이런 현상은 경로탐색의 오버헤드를 증가 시키며, 정확하고 신뢰성있는 경로의 탐색에 제한을 받게 된다. 이로 인하여 신뢰성있는 채널을 찾는 경로가 제한되기 때문에 경로의 생존 시간이 단축되고 경로의 안정성이 감소된다. 본 논문에서는 인지무선 ad-hoc네트워크에서 주사용자의 출현 가능성과 주변 사용자의 상황을 고려하여 패킷 충돌을 감소시키고 경로의 생존시간을 향상 시키는 라우팅 알고리즘을 제안한다. 각 노드는 주기적인 센싱을 통해 주사용자의 사용패턴을 감지하고 채널의 사용 확률과 현재 채널 상태를 알고 있다. 또한 이웃 노드와 메시지 교환을 통해 공통된 채널과 해당 채널의 품질을 파악하여 노드 사이에 링크 레벨을 부여한다. 제안된 방법에서는 링크 레벨을 이용하여 경로 탐색 과정에서 발생하는 제어 메시지의 수를 감소시킨다. 또한 링크의 생존성과 품질을 홉 카운트에 따라 가중치를 부여하여 경로를 선택함으로써 경로의 생존 시간을 향상 시킬 수 있다. 성능 평가를 통해 기존의 방법 보다 제안된 방법을 이용하여 라우팅을 수행할 경우 제어 채널의 오버헤드가 감소되고 경로의 생존시간이 증가하는 것을 확인 할 수 있다.

  • Commonly, a live-line alarm can be used to measure the electric field strength of a high-voltage system to calculate its current, but it is hard to detect the electric field of shielded cables or concealed structures, such as underground distribution cables. Current sensors can detect the magnetic field in a single core wire, but they cannot determine the magnetic field about a double-core wire because the currents flow in opposite directions. Therefore, it is very difficult to detect certain current problems, such as a fault current in an extension line comprised of a double line. In this paper, to ultimately develop a sensor that can detect the current regardless of line conditions, we used a simulation to determine the concentration of the magnetic field dependent on the distribution of the external magnetic field and the path of each line's core.

  • Corrosion of metallic structures arises when an electric current flows from the metal into the electrolyte such as soil and water. The potential difference across the metal-electrolyte interface, the driving force for the corrosion current, can emerge due to a variety of temperature, pH, humidity and resistivity etc.. With respect to a given structure, a stray current is to be defined as a current flowing on a structure that is not part of the intended electrical circuit. Stray currents are caused by other cathodic protection installations, grounding systems and welding posts, referred to as steady state stray currents. But most often traction systems like railroads and tramlines are responsible for large dynamic stray currents. This type of stray current is generally results from the leakage of return currents from large DC traction systems that are grounded or have a bad earth-insulated return path. This paper investigates the reports, which is made for protecting the electrical corrosion by the DC traction stray current before the construction period.

Transverse seismic response of continuous steel-concrete composite bridges exhibiting dual load path

  • Multi-span steel-concrete composite (SCC) bridges are very sensitive to earthquake loading. Extensive damage may occur not only in the substructures (piers), which are expected to yield, but also in the other components (e.g., deck, abutments) involved in carrying the seismic loads. Current seismic codes allow the design of regular bridges by means of linear elastic analysis based on inelastic design spectra. In bridges with superstructure transverse motion restrained at the abutments, a dual load path behavior is observed. The sequential yielding of the piers can lead to a substantial change in the stiffness distribution. Thus, force distributions and displacement demand can significantly differ from linear elastic analysis predictions. The objectives of this study are assessing the influence of piers-deck stiffness ratio and of soil-structure interaction effects on the seismic behavior of continuous SCC bridges with dual load path, and evaluating the suitability of linear elastic analysis in predicting the actual seismic behavior of these bridges. Parametric analysis results are presented and discussed for a common bridge typology. The response dependence on the parameters is studied by nonlinear multi-record incremental dynamic analysis (IDA). Comparisons are made with linear time history analysis results. The results presented suggest that simplified linear elastic analysis based on inelastic design spectra could produce very inaccurate estimates of the structural behavior of SCC bridges with dual load path.

GPS 정보를 이용한 지능형 차량의 자율 경로추적 제어 (Autonomous Tracking Control of Intelligent Vehicle using GPS Information)

  • In the development of intelligent vehicles, path tracking of unmanned vehicle is a basis of autonomous driving and automatic navigation. It is very important to find the exact position of a vehicle for the path tracking, and it is possible to get the position information from GPS. However the information of GPS is not the current position but the past position because a vehicle is moving and GPS has a time delay. In this paper, therefore, the moving distance of a vehicle is estimated using a direction sensor and a velocity sensor to compensate the position error of GPS. In the steering control, optimal fuzzy rules for the path tracking can be found through the simulation of Simulink. Real driving experiments show the fuzzy rules are good for the steering control and the position error of GPS is well compensated by the proposed estimation method.

  • Telematics is expected to be one of the fastest growing businesses in information technology area. It may create a new emerging market in industry related to automotive, telecommunications, and information services. Especially vehicle navigation service is considered as a killer application among telematics service applications. The current vehicle navigation service typically recommends a single path that is based on the traveling time or distance from the origin to the destination. The system provides two options for users to choose either via highway or via any road. Since the traffics and road conditions of big cities are very complicated and dynamic, the demand of multi-path guidance system is increasing in telematics market. The multi-path guidance system should allow drivers to choose a path based on their individual preferences such as traveling time, distance, or route familiarity. Using the Lawler's algorithm, it is possible to find multiple paths; however, due to the lengthy computational time, it is not suitable for the real-time services. This study suggests a computationally feasible and efficient heuristic multiple paths finding algorithm that is reliable for the real-time vehicle navigation services.

비용 인지 RRT 경로 계획 알고리즘 (A Cost-Aware RRT Planning Algorithm)

  • In this paper, we propose a cost-aware Rapidly-exploring Random Tree (RRT) path planning algorithm for mobile robots. A mobile robot is presented with a cost map of the field of interest and assigned to move from one location to another. As a robot moves, the robot is penalized by the cost at its current location according to the cost map. The overall cost of the robot is determined by the trajectory of the robot. The goal of the proposed cost-aware RRT algorithm is to find a trajectory with the minimal cost. The cost map of the field can represent environmental parameters, such as temperature, humidity, chemical concentration, wireless signal strength, and stealthiness. For example, if the cost map represents packet drop rates at different locations, the minimum cost path between two locations is the path with the best possible communication, which is desirable when a robot operates under the environment with weak wireless signals. The proposed cost-aware RRT algorithm extends the basic RRT algorithm by considering the cost map when extending a motion segment. We show that the proposed algorithm gives an outstanding performance compared to the basic RRT method. We also demonstrate that the use of rejection sampling can give better results through extensive simulation.

고정익 항공기의 자율 곡예비행 (Autonomous Aerobatic Flight for Fixed Wing Aircraft)

  • 고정익 항공기가 3차원의 복잡한 경로를 추종하기 위해 필요한 비교적 간단하며 효과적인 유도 제어 방법을 제시한다. 소개되는 방법은 비선형 경로 추종 유도 기법을 외부 루프로 사용한다. 외부 루프는 원하는 경로와 함께 항공기의 현재 위치와 속도를 바탕으로 비행 경로를 변화하기 위한 가속도 명령을 생성한다. 가속도 명령은 중력과 벡터적으로 결합되어 Specific Force Acceleration을 만든다. 이렇게 생성된 Specific Force Acceleration은 내부 루프를 위한 명령으로 쓰이는데, 이는 항공기가 가속도 자체보다는 Specific Force Acceleration을 더 직접적으로 제어할 수 있기 때문이다. 나아가 배면 비행이나 Slow Roll, Knife-Edge 등과 같은 옆미끄럼짐 기동을 하기 위해 필요한 롤 자세 제어 기법도 제시한다. 마지막으로 표준이 되는 여러 가지 곡예비행 경로들에 대한 시뮬레이션을 수행함으로써 제시된 기법의 성능을 검증한다.

Energy-efficient Multicast Algorithm for Survivable WDM Networks

  • In recent years, multicast services such as high-definition television (HDTV), video conferencing, interactive distance learning, and distributed games have increased exponentially, and wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) networks are considered to be a promising technology due to their support for multicast applications. Multicast survivability in WDM networks has been the focus of extensive attention since a single-link failure in an optical network may result in a massive loss of data. But the improvement of network survivability increases energy consumption due to more resource allocation for protection. In this paper, an energy-efficient multicast algorithm (EEMA) is proposed to reduce energy consumption in WDM networks. Two cost functions are defined based on the link state to determine both working and protection paths for a multicast request in WDM networks. To increase the number of sleeping links, the link cost function of the working path aims to integrate new working path into the links with more working paths. Sleeping links indicate the links in sleep mode, which do not have any working path. To increase bandwidth utilization by sharing spare capacity, the cost function of the protection path is defined to use sleeping fibers for establishing new protection paths. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated in terms of energy consumption, and also the blocking probability is evaluated under various traffic environments through OPNET. Simulation results show that our algorithm reduces energy consumption while maintaining the quality of service.

POMDP와 Exploration Bonus를 이용한 지역적이고 적응적인 QoS 라우팅 기법 (A Localized Adaptive QoS Routing Scheme Using POMDP and Exploration Bonus Techniques)

  • 본 논문에서는 Localized Aptive QoS 라우팅을 위해 POMDP(Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes)와 Exploration Bonus 기법을 사용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 또한, POMDP 문제를 해결하기 위해 Dynamic Programming을 사용하여 최적의 행동을 찾는 연산이 매우 복잡하고 어렵기 때문에 CEA(Certainty Equivalency Approximation) 기법을 통한 기댓값 사용으로 문제를 단순하였으며, Exploration Bonus 방식을 사용해 현재 경로보다 나은 경로를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 다중 경로 탐색 알고리즘(SEMA)을 제안했다. 더욱이 탐색의 횟수와 간격을 정의하기 위해 $\phi$와 k 성능 파라미터들을 사용하여 이들을 통해 탐색의 횟수 변화를 통한 서비스 성공률과 성공 시 사용된 평균 홉 수에 대한 성능을 살펴보았다. 결과적으로 $\phi$ 값이 증가함에 따라 현재의 경로보다 더 나은 경로를 찾게 되며, k 값이 증가할수록 탐색이 증가함을 볼 수 있다.
