전자계해석을 이용한 고효율 몰드변압기 손실 평가기술 연구 (A study on Loss Evaluation Technology of High Efficiency Mold Transformers using Electromagnetic Field Simulation)

  • In this paper, a series of electromagnetic analyses carried out for a high efficiency 22.9/0.38kV mold transformer are presented. The simulations were performed in order to calculate the losses which eventually verify the performance(efficiency) of the designed product. Here, losses include core loss, stray losses of non-current carrying metallic structural parts(core plate and clamp), ohmic loss and eddy current loss of current carrying metallic parts(busbars, leads, terminals and windings). The obtained results of the simulations were compared to the test results and showed high level of accuracy. The loss evaluation technology will allow designers avoid any potential over-design or under-design of the high efficiency products, reducing the manufacture cost and development period compared to the conventional experience-based design procedures.

Design of compact klystron amplifier using Field-emitter-arrays (FEA)-based cathode

  • There has been an interest to develop an efficient, compact microwave device using field-emitter-arrays (FEA)-based cathode. Toe valuate the optimum device-efficiency in a compact size, the propagation properties of the premodulated electron beam for the FEA-based cathode is studied in detail by the computer simulation using a PIC code, MAGIC. For the premodulated electron beam whose phase of the energy leads the phase of the current by $\pi$/2, the amplitude of the downstream current modulation can be kept as high as the initial modulation level. Using the beam parameters with the beam voltage of 6kV and the current of 2.0A, 30% of efficiency is predicted when the quality factor of 800 is chosen. the device length is reduced about twice compared with that of the conventional device. The design of practical planar cathode is carried out to meet the minimum diameter of the electron beam as 0.5 mm.

  • This paper presents experimental results of transient impedance characteristics investigated on the site of a large-scale grounding system using impulse current. The ground potential rise was measured while injecting an impulse current and the transient impedance was determined. As a results, the transient impedance was significantly greater than the stationary grounding resistance due to high inductance of ground conductors and leads.

  • In this paper, the new dual trench gate Emitter Switched Thyristor (DTG-EST) is proposed for improving snap-back effect which leads to a lot of serious problems of device applications. And the parasitic thyristor that is inherent in the conventional EST is completely eliminated in this structure, allowing higher maximum controllable current densities for ESTs. The conventional EST exhibits snap-back with the anode voltage and current density 2.73V and $35A/cm^2$, respectively. But the proposed DTG-EST exhibits snap-back with the anode voltage and current density 0.96V and $100A/cm^2$, respectively.

  • Properties of flashover in polymer insulators are very important under pollution environments. It is necessary to analyse flashover characteristics whether insulators are still safe or not. A lot of precious information can be got out of polluted polymer insulators through leakage current measurement. The behavior of partial arc discharge leads to flashover directly. It is possible to measure partial arc discharge as leakage current pulses analysis. The shape of histogram reflects degree of pollution, wetting and voltage stress level. It can be expressed by Weibull distribution function.

  • This paper proposes the control algorithm for maximum efficiency drive of PWM inverter - induction motor system with high dynamic performance. If the induction motor is driven under light load with rated magnetizing current, the Iron loss is excessively large compared with the codder loss which results in doer motor efficiency. Maximum efficiency drive of an induction motor can be achieved by controlling the magnetizing current to satisfy the optimal ratio that leads the total motor loss to be a minimum value at a given speed. The proposed control algorithm essentially uses vector control technique and adopts voltage decoupling control strategy to prevent the degradation of dynamic performance due to reduced magnetizing current. To verify the proposed method, digital simulations and experiments are carried out for a squirrel-cage induction motor with the rating of 2.2[kW].

  • This paper proposed a new control method which is capable of controlling circulating current considering current capacity of switching device. In the unbalanced voltage conditions, active power and reactive power have double line frequency. Thus, in order to provide active power without ripple, it is necessary to inject the negative sequence current components. However, when the negative current components is injected, it increases the total current flowing in the Arm, and in the Sub-module(SM) the current more than rated is impressed, which leads to destroy the system. Also, in impressing the circulating current reference of each arm, conventional control method impressed applicable $i_{dck}/3$ in the case of balanced voltage conditions. In the case of unbalanced conditions, as arm circulating current of three phase show difference due to the power impressed to each arm, reference of each arm is not identical. In this study, in the case of unbalanced voltage, within permitted current, the control method to decrease the ripple of active power is proposed, through circulating current control and current limitations. This control method has the advantage that calculates the maximum active power possible to generate capacity and impressed the current reference for that much. Also, in impressing circulating current reference, a new control method proposes to impress the reference from calculating active power of each phase. The proposed control method is verified through the simulation results, using the PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • 본 논문은 부스트 PFC (Power Factor Correction) 컨버터의 경부하시, 컨버터의 인덕터 전류 왜곡을 수학적으로 분석하고 원인을 정의한다. 경부하시 평균 전류 모드제어에서 인덕터 전류가 불연속적으로 도통하게 되어 부정확한 인덕터 전류 평균값이 전류 제어에 반영된다. 예측 전류 모드제어에서는 인덕터 전류에 비해 전류 리플이 상대적으로 커져 전류 왜곡이 심해진다. 또한 모델 예측 전류제어의 경우 인덕터 전류의 첨두치 부근에서 스위치가 OFF된다. 인덕터 전류 왜곡은 total harmonic distortion 증가와 역률 감소를 유발하기 때문에 반드시 해결되어야 한다. 본 논문은 수학적 분석을 기반으로 부스트 PFC 컨버터의 경부하시 전류 왜곡을 완화할 수 있는 설계 절차를 선정한다. 마지막으로 hardware-in-the-loop simulation을 사용하여 경부하시 제어 방법들을 비교분석했다.

Sn-37%Pb solder를 도금한 Cu 박판의 점 용접성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Spot Weldability of Sn-37%Pb Coated Cu-sheet)

  • 동(CU)은 전기전자부품에 널리 사용되어 왔는데, 특히 점 저항용접된 동은 콘덴서나 저항의 리드부분에 사용되고 있다. 그러나 일반적으로 동은 전기 저항이 낮아 저항용접이 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 동의 점 용접성을 개선하기 위하여, 상대적으로 전기 저항이 높은 Sn-37%Pb 솔더를 동 표면에 도금하였다. 실험변수로, 가 압력은 100kgf에서 200kgf, 용접시간은 20ms에서 50ms, 용접전류는 100A에서 2500A까지 변화시켰다. 실험결과, 솔더 도금된 동박판은 용접전류 400~2200A, 가압력 100~200kgf, 용접시간 20~50ms범위에서 저항용접이 가능하였다. 점 용접부의 인장전단 강도는 임계 전류값까지는 용접전류가 증가함에 따라 증가하고, 임계 전류값 이후부터는 용접전류에 따라 인장전단 강도가 감소하였다.

Temperature dependency of magnetic field drifts of HTS pancake coils for NMR/MRI applications

  • We had proposed a winding method so called "Wind-and-Flip", which enables a persistent current operation of an HTS pancake coil without any electrical joint. In order to improve the magnetic field drift characteristics, a prototype HTS coil with the technique was fabricated, and tested under various temperatures. Because the coil doesn't have any electric terminals for current leads, an HTS background magnet was used to induce the persistent current in the coil by field cooling process. A conduction cooling system with a GM cryocooler was prepared to keep the operating temperatures of the prototype coil much below the 77 K. We investigated the magnetic field drift characteristics under the various operating temperatures by measuring the center magnetic field with a cryogenic Hall sensor. The persistent current mode operation at 20 ~ 50K showed a strong possibility of the winding technique for the application such as MRI or NMR.
