  • Voltage controlled current regulated PWM(pulse width modulation) of VSI (voltage source inverter) is proposed. Adopting one degree of freedom, the voltage, the current controller shows much more improvement than conventional ones not using this method. The voltage controller or this proposal needs load's parameters, torque value, rotational speed. This voltage controller is located at converter part which links AC source and DC bus. With this proposed method, duty ratio of the inverter's switching is nearly unity for all speed and torque range. Hence, this method gets many advantages such as reducing current ripple, thermal loss, and noises and improving control performances. Theoretical approach to this voltage-current controller is performed, and the results are presented.

  • This proposes an online loss minimization algorithm for series PI(SPI) based interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive to yield high efficiency and high dynamic performance over wide speed range. The loss minimization algorithm is developed based on the motor model. In order to minimize the controllable electrical losses of the motor and thereby maximize the operating efficiency, the d-axis armature current is controlled optimally according to the operating speed and load conditions. For vector control purpose, a SPI is used as a speed controller which enables the utilization of the reluctance torque to achieve high dynamic performance as well as to operate the motor over a wide speed range. Also, this paper proposes current control of model reference adaptive fuzzy controller(MFC), and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) controller. The proposed efficiency optimization control, SPI, MFC, ANN in this paper is applied to IPMSM drive system, the validity of this paper is proved by analyzing response characteristics in variety operating conditions.

초고속 단상 BLDC 전동기의 고역률 전력 제어 방법 (High Power Factor Control of High-speed Single-phase BLDC Motor)

  • This paper presents a power control method of high-speed single-phase BLDC motor. Most electric appliances require a power factor corrector (PFC) to mitigate grid current harmonics. However, the reactive components and power semiconductors in the PFC increase system cost and dimension. In this paper, a new motor drive system for a high-speed single-phase BLDC motor is proposed, which can decrease grid current harmonics without PFC by directly manipulating motor power and eliminating bulky electrolytic dc-link capacitor. Given that the proposed motor power control method does not require motor current controller, no current sensor is necessary. Moreover, the proposed algorithms can be easily implemented using a low-cost micro-controller. The effectiveness of the proposed power control method is verified by experiments.

  • Generally, the current controller is located inner the whole controller, so the characteristic of the current controller is important in controlling performance of the upper controller. A current control loop in motor control is designed so that it is 10 times faster than the speed control loop of the upper controller. Thus, the current controller with complex control algorithm is not proper. In this paper, the improved current controller using a conventional digital PI controller and feedforward controller for the brushless BC motor is designed.

  • A nonlinear adaptive speed controller is designed for induction motors. Only the measurement of the stator current is used to design the controller and the observers. The sliding mode cascade observer is introduced to estimate the stator current and its time derivatives. The open-loop observer are designed to estimate the rotor flux and its time derivatives. The adaptive observer is also designed to estimate the rotor resistance. Sequentially, the rotor speed can be calculated using these estimated values. It is shown that the estimation errors of the corresponding states and the parameter converge to the specified residual set. It is also shown that the speed controller using these estimates is performed well. The experimental results are represented to investigate the validity of the proposed observer and controller.

Application to Speed Control of Brushless DC Motor Using Mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ PID Controller with Genetic Algorithm

  • This paper proposes a mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ optimal PID controller with a genetic algorithm based on the dynamic model of a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor and applies it to speed control. In the dynamic model of the BLDC motor with perturbation, the proposed controller guarantees arobust and optimal tracking performance to the desired speed of the BLDC motor. A genetic algorithm was used to obtain parameters for the PID controller that satisfy the mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ constraint. To implement the proposed controller, a control system based on PIC18F4431 was developed. Numerical and experimental results are shown to prove that the performance of the proposed controller was better than that of the optimal PID controller.

  • 본 연구에서 개발하고자 하는 기기의 모델은 마이크로 컨트롤을 이용하여 모터속도를 제어 할 수 있는 출력 전자 변속기로써, 자동제어 방식을 사용하여 Switching frequency를 1,000MHz까지 가능한 형태로 변환하는 자동 변속장치이다. 연속출력전류는 5A, 11A, 18A, 25A, 35A, 50A이며, 사용되는 전압은 9V에서 최대 18V까지 가능하도록 설계하였다. Micro-controller 의 software와 hardware의 블록 다아이그램을 고안하였으며, 전력손실을 막기 위해 자동적으로 3.7V에서 Auto Cut-Off기능이 있도록 구성하였다.

  • The maximum output torque developed by the machine is dependent on the allowable current rating and maximum voltage that the inverter can supply to the machine. Therefore, to use the inverter capacity fully, it is desirable to use the control scheme considering the voltage and current limit condition, which can yield the maximum torque per ampere over the entire speed range. This controller is controlled speed and current using hybrid PI(HBPI) controller and estimation of speed using ANN. Also, this paper is proposed control of maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) of induction motor. This strategy is proposed which is simple in structure and has the honest goal of minimizing the stator current magnitude for given load torque. The performance of the proposed induction motor drive with maximum torque control using HBPI controller is verified by analysis results at dynamic operation conditions.

  • In this paper, an auto-tuning method for fuzzy controller based on the neural network is presented. The backpropagated error of neural emulator offers the path which reforms the fuzzy controller's membership functions and fuzzy rule, and used for speed control of induction motor. For the torque control method, an indirect vector control scheme with slip calculation is used because of its stable characteristics regardless of speed. Motor input current is regulated by a current controlled voltage source PWM inverter using space voltage vector technique. Also, the scheme of current control fuzzy controller is synchronous reference frame with decoupling term. DSP(TMS320C31) is used to achieve the high speed calculation of the space voltage vector PWM and to build the self-learning fuzz. control algorithm. An IPM is used to simplify hardware design.

The paper is proposed maximum torque control of induction motor drive using adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and artificial neural network(ANN). The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d, q axis current $_i_{ds}$, $i_{qs}$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to induction motor drive system controlled adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and ANN controller, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail. Also, this paper is proposed the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and ANN controller.
