  • The purpose of this study is to investigate specific crowding areas resulted from diverse physical factors of multi-plex theaters in a fire evacuation, and more accurately predict the evacuation route of people. To achieve these purpose, the architectural characteristics of three multi-plex theaters in Jinju have been chosen, and the evacuation experiments through the computer simulation called Simulex were carried out for each on the these theaters. The conclusions from this study are as follows: (1) Crowding usually happens cross areas between theater inside and corridors, and Crowding rate depending on the number of cross areas. (2) It is necessary to design the escape routes being employed ordinary times. And the egress routes planning should be integrated into space programming at the early stage of building design.

  • One of main findings of the competitiveness relation is rapid increase of Chinese influence on the southeast Asian market. While Japanese market share is decreasing, Chinese market share is continuously increasing in the market. It is the same regardless of types of production phases. Analysis based on gravity model shows that in general Chinese exports is crowding out Korean and Japanese export to the market. The magnitude of the effects on Korean exports is larger than on Japanese exports. Also, It is found that the directions of the effect of Chinese exports on Korean and Japanese exports are different by production phrases. For all processed goods, increase of Chinese exports decreases both Korean and Japanese exports to the market. However, for some final goods such as transport equipment and food & beverages for household, Chinese exports is increasing Korean and Japanese exports to the market.

  • Class I malocclusion without skeletal problem results from tooth size/arch-size discrepancies, either evidenced by crowding, or spacing problems. Treatment method can be chosen according to dentition, the amount of arch discrepancy, patient compliance, or patient demands. We report of clear aligner and spring aligner that can be applicated in cases of permanent dentition with minimal arch discrepancy in anterior segment. There are some limits of application, but these are very useful appliances in the selective case. When crowding exists, definitive analysis and diagnosis should be made before starting treatment because certain amount of space must be obtained somewhere in the dentition to resolve the crowding. Therefore, appliance should be applied when lacking space is small. Also, in cases with spacing arch circumference is reduced after alignment so no problem in intermaxilla occlusal relationship must be confirmed. In case with crowding, judicious removal of interproximal enamel is indicated.

  • Extracting mandibular incisors for orthodontic treatment may adversely affect the occlusion. However, when properly used, extraction of mandibular inciors is a selection for the correction of the malocclusion. Generally, treatment for crowding needs to select between nonextraction and four premolar extraction. Approaches for crowded mandibular incisors include distal movement of posterior teeth, lateral movement of canines, labial movement of incisors, interproximal enamel reduction, removal of premolars, removal of one or two incisors, and various combinations of the above. Extraction of incisors is used in case of crowding, anterior tooth size discrepancy, absent of maxillary lateral incisors, and ectopic eruption. But severe overjet. overbite, and space are the contraindication of it. A patient had severe crowding on upper anterior teeth, impacted upper left lateral incisor, palatal ectopic eruption of upper right incisor and severe crowding on lower anterior teeth. Lower lateral incisors are extracted for space availability and facial esthetics. We report the case of orthodontic treatment of upper and lower anterior crowding through extraction of lateral incisor.

  • A girl aged 18 years and 1 month, had a Angle's Class III malocclusion, characterized by .anterior crossbite, anterior crowding, and constriction from right lower 2nd premolar to right lower 2nd molar. This patient underwent sealing and (equation omitted) extraction, and multibanded system was placed. After 14 months, anterior crossbite and crowding was corrected, an bothdental arches were improved. After 6 months from debanding, band space disappeared and any relapse was not detected.

  • The purposes of this study were to clarify the effect of tooth size and arch size upon the crowding. 175 upper casts were measured and following conclusions were made. 1. Tooth size, intermolar width, 2nd premolar width of crowded group were not significantly different from those of noncrowded groups. 2. Intercanine width, arch length of noncrowded group were significantly larger than crowded group. 3. Multiple regression equations were derived by using tooth size, arch perimeter, arch length, intermolar width.

  • In order to suppress the current crowding in light emitting diodes (LEDs) grown on sapphire substrate, the effect of nonuniform contact resistivity between TME layer and p-GaN layer on the LED surface was theoretically investigated. The analysis results showed that current crowding occurring around p-electrode could be considerably improved, which in turn would be helpful to improve the electrostatic discharge (ESD) characteristic.

  • This study investigates the effects of third molar on the occlusal plane in Angle's class El malocclusion with possibilities of posterior crowding and the interrelationships of occlusal plane inclinations to other skeletal patterns. Above investigations might showed that considerations should be given to third molars with possibilities of posterior crowding in establishing diagnosis and treatment plans for Angle's class III malocclusion patients. The following conclusions were obtained 1. In events of third molars causing possible posterior crowding, maxillary third molars showed more mesial inclinations than second molars, and compared to those with third molar missing cases, first molars were more mesially inclined and displaced more inferiorly from the palatal plane and OP-MP was increase , thus the occlusal plane was less steep. 2. In events of third molars causing possible posterior crowding, the anglulation between AB line and mandibular plane was decreased and ANB showed negative values. Thus chin points were more protruded, ramus were more anteriorly displaced, and increase in lower facial height, genial angle, effective mandibular length and mandibular plane angle were observed. This in all caused more vertical opening and more severe skeletal disturbance. 3. OP-MP was increased as the maxillary first molars were more inferiorly displaced from the palatal plane. As this angle was increased mandibular planes were more inferiorly inclined and LFH, genial angle, effective mandibular length were more increased and mandibular ramus was more anteriorly placed. 4. As the maxillary first molars were more inferiorly placed from the palatal plane, more increased OP-MP/PP-MP ratio made the occlusal plane less steep. As OP-MP/PP-MP was increased, mandibular ramus was more anteriorly placed and made longer, and facial angle and effective mandibular length were increased.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze a causal model determining social carrying capacity(SCC) in natural parks, to answer the research question: What is the mechanism for determining SCC in natural parks (NP)\ulcorner After reviewing the literature on SCC and recreation activities in Korean natural parks, we constructed a conceptual framework and formulated the hypothesis of this research. We obtained data through a questionnaire which surveyed 487 visitors at 6 of the 73 NP in Korea during 2001, based on a stratified sampling method. We analyzed the data using descriptive statistical methods, the mean difference test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and path analysis method. We found that 1) The direct effect of resources, activity space(AS), visitor's expectation(VE), encounter, crowding, damage of resources(DR), maintenance condition of resources and facility(MCRF) to SCC are 3.45, 3.62, 2.75, 2.72, 1.32, and 4.77 times more important than that of crowding, respectively, while the indirect effect of resources, AS, VE, encounter, and DR to SCC is 13.03, 11.19, 3.34, 1.3, 2.05, 1.10, 0.05 and 2.30 times more important then that of crowding, respectively, 2) Causal effects of resources, facility, AS, VE, number of visitors(NV), encounter, crowding, VM, DR, and MCRF to SCC turned out to have 0.3523, 0.3321, 0.1751, 0.1465, 0.0307, 0.0762, 0.0604, -0.0510, -0.1177 and 0.2165, respectively, and 3) The causal effect of activity base(AB) and activity atmosphere(AA) to SCC turned out to have 2.57 and 1.1 times higher than that of MCRF, respectively. The research results suggest that 1) this conceptual framework is highly useful for the development of substantive theory and methodology; 2) management issues of AA and MCRF turned out to have 0.81 times in SCC that of AB, i.e, SCC can be significantly improved from control of AA and MCRF; and 3) supply of excellent resources and convenient facilities is needed to increase social carrying capacity. It is recommended that more empirical studies be performed in the future according to the season, visitor characteristics, and AS by NP.
