  • We introduce the warping crossing polynomial of an oriented knot diagram by using the warping degrees of crossing points of the diagram. Given a closed transversely intersected plane curve, we consider oriented knot diagrams obtained from the plane curve as states to take the sum of the warping crossing polynomials for all the states for the plane curve. As an application, we show that every closed transversely intersected plane curve with even crossing points has two independent canonical orientations and every based closed transversely intersected plane curve with odd crossing points has two independent canonical orientations.

  • This study analyzes the factors effecting on pedestrian crossing behavior in the unsignalized intersection. Pedestrian crossing behavior is the results of mental stress defined as a combination of environment perception, avoiding accidents, halting collision, and instant crossing decision. It is necessary to make walkable intersection in cities through relieving this stress influenced by personality, traffic condition, and roadway environment. The purpose of study is empirically to examine the crossing behavior such as crossing satisfaction, crossing trial frequency and waiting time based on various factors effecting on crossing intersection by video and questionnaire survey. The $x^2$-test is applied to analyze the characteristics of crossing trial frequency according to each factor. Also, the hazard rate model is established to find the factors effecting on waiting time for crossing. Finally, the direct and indirect effects on the pedestrian crossing satisfaction are presented as the results of LISREL.

  • The purpose of this study is the analysis of 'perpendicular crossing Dori' with a structural character of Ddeulzip in Andong cultural area. There are many structural methods to solve the problems of Ddeuljip which is connected space in the rectangular type. There are 'Slope Base', 'Woosangak' roof, 'Seosangak' roof, and '4 beam roof framing' Moreover, they have been used 'perpendicular crossing Dori'. Its characters are as follows ; 1. The 'perpendicular crossing Dori' structure is occurred in different depth of width and length space of 'ㄱ' typed plan. At that time the beam of width is crossed in the middle of the beam of length without the order under them. 2. The 'perpendicular crossing Dori' structure is the method of free depth of width in regular distance of column which is different from general usage of balcony order. 3. The 'perpendicular crossing Dori' structure is founded north-western area of Andong Cultural Area(Bonghwa, Andong, Youngju, and Yeacheun). The best old sample was in Andong(16C) and the next is Yeacheun(17C) and the last is Bonghwa(18C). 4. The frequency in use of roof type of 'perpendicular crossing Dori' structure is 64% of 'Seosangak' and 36% of 'Woosangak'. The sample of 'Woosangak' house of 'perpendicular crossing Dori' structure is concentrated in Bonghwa. 5. The best merit of the 'perpendicular crossing Dori' structure is usage of double swing window in front of Anbang, It is the spacial success which overcomes the structural limits. And it is the structural rationality.

  • Purpose: Obstacle crossing training is being used to improve the walking ability of stroke patients, but studies on which method is more effective when performing obstacle crossing training with an unaffected limb lead (OCT-ULL) and an affected limb lead (OCT-ALL) are not well known. As such, this study aims to compare the intervention effects of obstacle crossing training using unaffected limb leads (OCT-ULL) and obstacle crossing training using affected limb leads (OCT-ALL). Methods: In total, 25 patients with chronic stroke were studied and assigned randomly to the obstacle crossing training with unaffected limb leads (OCT-ULL) group or the obstacle crossing training with affected limb leads (OCT-ALL) group. A lower extremity strength test, balance and gait test, and fall efficacy test were conducted as preliminary tests, and all patients participated in the intervention for 30 minutes a day, five days a week for four weeks, and the same preliminary tests were conducted post-intervention. Results: Compared with the OCT-ALL group, the OCT-ULL group showed a significant improvement in the strength of the affected hip abductor muscle and in balance and gait, as well as in fall efficacy (p<.05). Conclusion: This study suggested that applying the OCT-ULL training method in the obstacle crossing training of stroke patients is more effective for improving balance and gait functions than OCT-ALL.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of leg crossing on reducing orthostatic hypotension and orthostatic hypotension symptoms in hemodialysis patients. Methods: A one-group pretest-posttest design was used. A total of 40 post-hemodialysis adult patients were enrolled, excluding the case of intradialysis hypotension, unbalance of standing with leg crossing, adding antihypertensive medications. Blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) were measured in supine and standing positions. After a week, BP and HR were measured in supine and standing with leg crossing position. Orthostatic hypotension symptoms were also measured by self-reported structured questionnaire in standing without leg crossing and with leg crossing position. Results: We found out that systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial pressure increased significantly in standing with crossing leg position applied (p=.006, p=.001, p=.006). However, presences of orthostatic hypotension symptoms were not significantly decreased in standing with leg crossing position (p=.500, p=.318, p=.306, p=.241, p=.356, p=.500, p=.241, p=.308). Conclusion: This study shows that leg crossing is effective for reducing orthostatic hypotension without additional cost or instruments. Leg crossing as one of the preventive interventions to reduce orthostatic hypotension is easier and simpler to be implemented in hemodialysis patients.

  • Turnout is a mechanical installation enabling railway trains to be guided from one track to another at a railway junction. A movable nose crossing frog is a device used at a railway turnout to eliminate the gap at the common crossing (High manganese, block, assembly crossing)which can cause impact damage, noise and vibration. Our government has a plan speed up of conventional line to 250km/h semi-high speed. We had already developed flexible turnout with fixed crossing(High manganese) and SFC fastening system can cover in the semi-high speed line In this study is about development of the movable nose crossing turnout available Semi-high speed line on concrete track. This paper describes about geometry, attack angle, bending stress at the nose, switching force, safety of continuous welded long rails. This movable nose crossing turnout is expected greatly increases passing speed of turnout in national railway.

  • We obtain probabilities at a crossing of two linearly time-dependent potentials that are constantly coupled to the other by solving a time-dependent Schrödinger equation. We find that the system which was initially localized at one state evolves to split into both states at the crossing. The probability splitting depends on the coupling strength $V_0$ such that the system stays at the initial state in its entirety when $V_0$ = 0 while it is divided equally in both states when $V_0 \rightarrow {\infty}$ . For a finite coupling the probability branching at the crossing is not even and thus a complete probability transfer at $t \rightarrow {\infty}$ is not achieved in the linear potential crossing problem. The Landau-Zener formula for transition probability at $t \rightarrow {\infty}$ is expressed in terms of the probabilities at the crossing.

  • Accidents at level crossing where railways and roads cross cause many casualties because of collision of cars etc and it also has a risk of the 2nd accident of trains. it is the most vulnerable point in the railway safety. Fundamental solution for accidents at level crossing is making the crossings cubic. but it can't be easily progressed because of environmental and financial difficulties. every kind of anti-accident measures are being strived for. one of the strived results is level crossing obstacle detector which automatically detects obstacles like defected cars etc in the middle of level crossing and transmits the information of obstacles to the approaching train. However present level crossing obstacle auto detector needs high expenses to be installed and has difficulties that lenses of beam transmitter, beam receiver should be cleaned in snowing winter. this document reviews level crossing obstacle auto detector using ultrasonic sensor to measure these difficulties.
