On the motivation by an integrative study of multi-omics data, we are interested in estimating the structure of the sparse cross correlation matrix of two high-dimensional random vectors. We rewrite the problem as a multiple testing problem and propose a new method to estimate the sparse structure of the cross correlation matrix. To do so, we test the correlation coefficients simultaneously and threshold the correlation coefficients by controlling FRD at a predetermined level α. Further, we apply the proposed method and an alternative adaptive thresholding procedure by Cai and Liu (2016) to the integrative analysis of the protein expression data (X) and the mRNA expression data (Y) in TCGA breast cancer cohort. By varying the FDR level α, we show that the new procedure is consistently more efficient in estimating the sparse structure of cross correlation matrix than the alternative one.

The cross-flow turbine is one of the most famous and widely used hydraulic power systems for a long time. The cross-flow turbine is especially popular in many countries and remote regions where off-grided because of its many benefits such as low cost, high efficiency at low head, simple structure, and easy maintenance. However, most modern turbines, including the cross-flow turbine, are unsuitable for the ultra-low head situation, known as less than 3m water head or zero head with over 0.5m/s flow velocity. In this study, we demonstrated a 20kW class inverted-type cross-flow turbine's performance. First, we reevaluated our previous studies and introduced how to design the inverted-type cross-flow turbine. Secondly, we fabricated the 20kW class inverted-type cross-flow turbine for the performance test. And then, we designed a testbed and installed the turbine system in the demonstration facility. In the end, we compare the demonstration with its previous CFD results. The comparing result shows that both CFD and real model fitted on guide vane angle at 10 degrees. At the demonstration, we achieved 42% turbine efficiency at runner speed 125 RPM.
This study was performed to investigate whethere there is cross-reactivity between Dirofilaria immitis and three intestinal nematodes of dogs. In ELISA, D. immitis- infected dog sera obtained at the 4th molting stage (9-11 weeks) and microfilaremic stage (25-30 weeks) were shown to be highly reactive with crude extract of T. canis. In immunoblotting, some antigenic fractions, 44, 57 88, 100 kDa of crude extract of T. canis, were found to be positive reaction with sera of dogs infected with D. immitis. However, little or no cross-reaction were observed between sera of D. immitis-infected dogs and crude extract antigen of T. vulpis or A. caninum. These result suggest that there are partial cross reaction between sera of D. immitis-infected dogs and the antigen of T. canis.
In this study, with the view to using effectively small and medium diameter Korean domestic woods as structural materials, cross-laminated woods were manufactured by using six species of Korean domestic softwoods and hardwoods, and bending creep properties were investigated for each species. The creep curves showed the shape of the exponential function plot, and the creep curves after 1 hour were able to estimate by fitting it to the power law. The initial and creep compliances of cross-laminated woods showed the higher values in wood species with a low density than in that with a high density. And by cross-laminating, the initial and creep compliances perpendicular to the grain considerably decreased, the extent of the decrease was found to be greater in creep deformation than in initial deformation. The creep anisotropies of cross-laminated woods were considerably decreased by cross-laminating. The relative creep of $C_{\bot}$ type composed of perpendicular-direction lamina in the faces decreased 0.59 - 0.64 times compared to that of $P_{\bot}$ type composed of perpendicular-direction laminae in all layers, and that for $C_{\parallel}$ type composed of parallel-direction laminae in the faces increased 1.5 - 1.6 times compared to that of $P_{\parallel}$ type composed of parallel-direction laminae in all layers.

Statistical analysis program solve the problem of the difficulties on the data analysis in field denetics and breeding Therefore the user whoever want to analysis of data on genetics and breeding easily conduct the work saving time and suffering.
Cross-border M&A brings positive benefits to corporations and social economic development which can not been given by any investment ways, having greatly reduced the investment risks and costs to enter the host country market, resulting in the rapid development of the Cross-border M&A in china. This study examines the factors affecting firm performance of Cross-border merger and acquisition on Chinese manufacturing industry. This study chooses a sample of 31 Cross-border M&A in the manufacturing industry in China and the relevant data were collected during the period 2001 to 2007. The data were analyzed using a multiple regression analysis to identify the factors that affect Firm performance. It is found that the Firm performance is significantly affected by the oversea investment experience, cultural distance between countries, cost in M&A transaction and the number of transaction shares.

Purpose : Energy bars are increasingly popular among active individuals, yet their timing and nutrient combinations' impact on exercise adaptation remains unclear. This study aims to address this knowledge gap by investigating whether the combination of pre- and post-workout supplementation can synergistically enhance fitness and alleviate fatigue in trained CrossFit participants. Investigate if combining pre- and post-workout supplements can enhance fitness and blood lactate management in trained CrossFit participants, potentially improving exercise performance for this group. Methods : In a randomized crossover study, 20 trained CrossFit individuals (11 males, 9 females) completed thrice-weekly 60-minute CrossFit sessions for 3 weeks, with a one-week washout period. Participants were randomly assigned to either a chocolate bar group (CH, 45 g, 225 kcal) or an energy bar group (ES, 48 g, 238 kcal, with protein, caffeine, taurine, and BCAAs). For one week, participants consumed two bars of their assigned supplement five minutes before and after workouts. After a washout period, they switched supplements. Blood lactate levels and a visual analog scale (VAS) were assessed before, immediately after, and 30 minutes post-workout. Fitness tests (hand grip, broad jump, sit-ups) were conducted at baseline and 30 minutes post-final workout. Data were analyzed using two-way repeated measures ANOVA (p<.05), 95 % confidence intervals, and magnitude inferences. Results : Hand grip strength (t=-5.60, p=.000), broad jump (t=-3.43, p=.003) and sit up (t=-3.94, p=.001) were significantly increased in the ES group. Compared to CH group, there was a significant time and group interactions for blood lactate level (F=5.51, p=.008) and VAS(F=31.67, p=.000) in the ES group. Conclusion : Pre- and post-workout energy bar supplementation may have a beneficial effect on blood lactate clearance and fitness in trained CrossFit individual. The combination of proprietary supplements taken may provide benefits for removing the blood lactate during high-intensity functional exercise.

Introduction: To correct the facial asymmetry by mandibular jaw surgery, it is important to know the anatomy of the mandible including the mandibular canal positioning of patients with facial asymmetry. This study was performed to evaluate the differences in the cross-sectional surface in the body of the mandible between the deviated side and opposite side in patients with facial asymmetry. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 37 adult patients composed of 2 groups, the asymmetry group (n=20) and non-asymmetry group (n=17). Using the cross-sectional computed tomography (CT) images, the distance from the buccal aspect of the mandibular canal to the outer aspect of the buccal cortex, distance from the buccal aspect of the mandibular canal to the inner aspect of the buccal cortex, distance from the inferior aspect of the mandibular canal to the inferior border of the mandible, thickness of the mandible, and cross-sectional surface area of the mandible were measured in each side of the mandible Results: The cross-sectional area of the mandible including the mandibular canal positioning in the deviated side was not statistically different from the opposite side in the asymmetry group. Only the distance from the inferior aspect of the mandibular canal to the inferior border of the mandible in the ramus area of the deviated side was significantly longer than opposite side. On the other hand, the bucco-lingual width of the asymmetry group was thinner than the non-asymmetry group. Conclusion: The cross-sectional area including the mandibular canal of the mandible did not appear to be modified by the facial asymmetry.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate the appropriateness of the cross table lateral cervical X-ray used in the emergency department for severely traumatized Korean patients. Methods: Patients visiting our institution from May 2011 to May 2012, who had injury severity score (ISS) > 15 and who received a cervical X-ray in the emergency department, were included in this study. Data including demographics, ISS score, GCS score, and place where the x-ray was taken were collected to evaluate their relationship with appropriate coverage of the cervical X-ray. The appropriateness of a cervical cross lateral view X-ray was evaluated using exposure of the basion, and the opisthion, as well as the distal level of exposure. Results: Fifty-two patients were included in this study. The identification rate of the basion was 79.2%, and the identification rate of the opisthion was 88.7%. Complete exposure of C7/T1 was accomplished in 3.8% of the patients. The ISS was higher for X-ray taken in the trauma bay, but the range of exposure showed no difference between the places where the X-rays taken. Patients who had exposure of C 5/6 or more had lower body weight and body mass index (BMI) compared with unexposed patients. Conclusion: In severely traumatized Korean patients, the adequacy of the cross table lateral cervical X-ray was inappropriate in most cases. No difference was observed in the exposure range between the places where the X-rays were taken, and patients with less exposure showed higher body weight and higher BMI.
Many countries in the world have regulated cross-border supply in basic telecommunications services based on GATS exception rule for telecommunications because of anti-competition behavior control, domestic consumer protection, tax levy, national security, etc. Korea partially regulates cross-border supply in telecommunications service through the WTO and the domestic law and regulation. However, WTO and FTA negotiations, cross-border supply regulation are strongly demanded to deregulation. Therefore, it is required to review the effectiveness of cross-border supply regulation to prepare the counter plan for that regulation. Thus, the major countries of the telecommunication services regulation regarding the cross-border supply are reviewed. In addition, it is retrieved some implications for Korean regulation policy by reviewing the actual regulation of many countries cases.
