주희의 격물치지설(格物致知說)에 대한 고찰 - 『대학혹문(大學或問)』 전오장(傳五章)과 '대학혹문어류(大學或問語類)'의 비판적 이해를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Zhu Xi's theory of "gewu zhizhi" - focusing on critical understandings of Zhu Xi in the Daxue huowen chapter V and Daxue huowen yulei)

  • 본 연구는 "대학장구", "대학혹문", 그리고 "주자어류"의 '대학혹문어류'를 중심으로, 선배 학자들의 격물치지설에 대한 주희의 비판적 이해를 고찰하였다. 주희는 "대학혹문"과 '대학혹문어류'에서 사마광, 정이의 제자(여대림, 사량좌, 양시, 윤돈), 호상학자(호안국, 호굉), 이동의 격물치지설을 비교적 자세히 서술하고, 이를 비판적으로 이해하면서 정이의 격물치지설을 토대로 자기 학설을 체계화 하였다. 이처럼 주희는 선배 유학자들의 격물치지설을 비판하면서, 외물에 대한 강한 긍정을 토대로 외물에 대한 이치의 누적을 통해 마침내 하나로 관통하는 방법이 격물치지의 핵심임을 주장하였다. '격물보전장'과 관련한 주희의 이러한 기획은 주희 자신이 입론한 격물치지의 의미가 결국 정이의 격물치지설과 부합하며 유학 전통에 확고히 기반하고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

고온 초전도 케이블의 전류 분포 및 전기절연 특성 (The Characteristics of Current Distribution and Electrical Insulation on High-Tc Superconducting Cable)

  • It is important to control layer current distributions of coaxial multi-layer HTS cables, because a homogeneous layer current distribution decreases AC loss and can supply the largest operational current. We have extended the theory that treat the operational current more than the critical current by considering V-I nonlinear characteristics of HTS tapes including flux flow resistance and contacting resistance between the cable and terminals. It is important to investigate the current distribution under the condition of operational current more than the critical current of cable, because the cable has experiences of fault current. In order to verify the extended theory, we have fabricated a two layers cable with the same twisting layer pitch. It was observed that almost all the operational current less than the critical current flowed on the outer layer because of its lower inductance. In case of operational current more than critical currents of layers, the flux flow resistances affect strongly current waveform and thereby the currents of layers were determined by the flux flow resistances. And we investigated breakdown characteristics in $LN_{2}$/paper composite insulation system for the application to a HTS cable. In this experiment, we got some information out of that the electrical characteristics of the insulation materials depends on the condition of butt gap.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the stability of water tower with a relatively small footing. The water tower is modeled that the column carrying a container is supported by a rotational spring at the base and is of constant cross-section, with a weight per unit length of column axis. The column model is based on the Bernoulli-Euler beam theory. The Runge-Kutta method and Determinant Search method are used to perform the integration of the governing differential equation and to determine the critical values(critical own weight. and critical buckling load), respectively. The critical buckling loads are calculated over a range of system parameters: the rotational stiffness parameter, the dimensionless radius of container and the own weight parameter of the column. The relation between the rotational stiffness parameter and the critical own weight parameter of the column is analyzed.

자기 비판적 완벽주의와 조직시민행동 간 관계: 성별의 조절효과 (The Relationship between Self-critical Perfectionism and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: Investigating the Roles of Gender Effect)

  • 본 연구는 개인 수준에서 조직시민행동이 초래하는 딜레마적 상황을 보다 잘 이해하기 위해서, 조직시민행동에 영향을 미치는 개인적 특성인 자기 비판적 완벽주의 성격과 성별효과를 검증하고자 한다. 즉, 자원보존이론을 바탕으로자기 비판적 완벽주의 성격이 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향에 대해 논의하고, 성별 차이가 이 관계를 어떻게 변화 시키는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 자원보존이론에서 주장하듯이, 자기 비판적 완벽주의 성격은 조직시민행동에 부정적인 영향을 줄 것으로 예측하였다. 또한 성별 관련 논의들에 근거하여 여성에 비해 남성일 경우 자기 비판적 완벽주의와 조직시민행동 간 부(-)의 관계가 강하게 나타날 것임을 가설로 제시하였다. 이러한 가설들을 검증하기 위하여 한국 기업들을 대상으로 상사-부하 설문을 실시하였고, 총 150쌍의 데이터를 사용하여 위계적 선형모형 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 자기 비판적 완벽주의 성격과 조직시민행동 간에 부(-)적인 영향이 있음을 확인 하였고, 이러한 부적 효과는 남성의 경우 더 강하게 나타남을 확인 하였다. 본 연구는 조직시민행동을 설명하는 개인적 특성과 성별효과를 살펴봄으로 인해, 조직시민행동 관련된 분야에 이론적·실무적 함의를 제공한다고 할 수 있다.

산소농도 변화에 따른 입상활성탄의 자연발화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Autoignition of Granulated Activated Carbon with Change of Oxygen Concentration)

  • The characteristics of critical spontaneous ignition of granulated activated carbon were investigated In atmospheres of differing oxygen concentration. At the same concentration the larger vessels yielded the lower critical spontaneous ignition temperature. At the same vessel, as the concentration of oxygen was reduced, Ignition occurred later and at higher ambient temperature, and critical spontaneous ignition temperature increased. The apparent activation energy calculated from the Frank-Kamenetskii's ignition theory appeared to be the slight different value respectively and the mean apparent activation energy was 19850㎈/㏖.

Analytical solution for scale-dependent static stability analysis of temperature-dependent nanobeams subjected to uniform temperature distributions

  • In this paper, the thermo-mechanical buckling characteristics of functionally graded (FG) size-dependent Timoshenko nanobeams subjected to an in-plane thermal loading are investigated by presenting a Navier type solution for the first time. Material properties of FG nanobeam are supposed to vary continuously along the thickness according to the power-law form and the material properties are assumed to be temperature-dependent. The small scale effect is taken into consideration based on nonlocal elasticity theory of Eringen. The nonlocal governing equations are derived based on Timoshenko beam theory through Hamilton's principle and they are solved applying analytical solution. According to the numerical results, it is revealed that the proposed modeling can provide accurate critical buckling temperature results of the FG nanobeams as compared to some cases in the literature. The detailed mathematical derivations are presented and numerical investigations are performed while the emphasis is placed on investigating the effect of the several parameters such as material distribution profile, small scale effects and aspect ratio on the critical buckling temperature of the FG nanobeams in detail. It is explicitly shown that the thermal buckling of a FG nanobeams is significantly influenced by these effects. Numerical results are presented to serve as benchmarks for future analyses of FG nanobeams.

Stability and parameters influence study of fully balanced hoist vertical ship lift

  • A theoretical formulation based on the linearized potential theory, the Descartes' rule and the extremum optimization method is presented to calculate the critical distance of lifting points of the fully balanced hoist vertical ship lift, and to study pitching stability of the ship lift. The overturning torque of the ship chamber is proposed based on the Housner theory. A seven-free-degree dynamic model of the ship lift based on the Lagrange equation of the second kind is then established, including the ship chamber, the wire rope, the gravity counterweights and the liquid in the ship chamber. Subsequently, an eigenvalue equation is obtained with the coefficient matrix of the dynamic equations, and a key coefficient is analyzed by innovative use of the minimum optimization method for a stability criterion. Also, an extensive influence of the structural parameters contains the gravity counterweight wire rope stiffness, synchronous shaft stiffness, lifting height and hoists radius on the critical distance of lifting points is numerically analyzed. With the Runge-Kutta method, the four primary dynamical responses of the ship lift are investigated to demonstrate the accuracy/reliability of the result from the theoretical formulation. It is revealed that the critical distance of lifting points decreases with increasing the synchronous shaft stiffness, while increases with rising the other three structural parameters. Moreover, the theoretical formulation is more applicable than the previous criterions to design the layout of the fully balanced hoist vertical ship lift for the ensuring of the stability.

  • This study reviews (i) the (dis)advantages of two major semantic theories of focus, i.e., the Alternative Semantics (AS) and the Structured Meaning Theory (SM), and (ii) the hybrid analysis consisting of these two theories proposed by Krifka (2006). After pointing out a problem of this hibrid analysis, this study attempts to show the third alternative, i.e., the theory of identificational predication for focus can solve this problem.

The Significant Structure Theory of Liquids Applied to Homogeneous Nucleation Theory

  • The surface tensions, the chemical potentials and the densities of various liquids such as argon, nitrogen, helium, ammonia, and water are calculated using the significant structure theory of liquids. And using these calculated values, the critical supersaturation ratios and the radii of the above materials are determind according to the classical Becker-Doring and the revised Lothe-Pound theories. The results are compared with the experimental values and well agreed with the available experimental data.

  • A nonlinear theory presented previously is applied to the Oregonator, which is a model for the Belousov-Zhabotinskii reaction, to study instability near the critical point driven by diffusions. The result shows that the theory may be applied to an actual system.
