Defense Systems Test Center in ADD supports increasingly various missile test requirements such as higher altitude event, multi target operation and low-altitude, high velocity target tracking. In this paper, we have proposed the development of instrumentation radar tracking status simulator based on virtual reality. This simulator can predict the tracking status and risk of failure using several modeling algorithms. It consists of target model, radar model, environment model and several algorithms includes the multipath interference effects. Simulation results show that the predict tracking status and signal are similar to the test results of the live flight test. This simulator predicts and analyze all of the status and critical parameters such as the optimal site location, servo response, optimal flight trajectory, LOS(Line of Sight). This simulator provides the mission plan with a powerful M&S tool to rehearse and analyze instrumentation tracking radar measurement plan for live flight test at DSTC(Defense Systems Test Center).

It is essential to determine a proper earthquake time history as a seismic load in a seismic design for a critical structure. In the code, a seismic load should satisfy a design response spectrum and include the characteristic of a target fault. The characteristic of a fault can be represented by a definition of a type of possible earthquake time history shape that occurred in a target fault. In this paper, the pseudo-basis function is proposed to be used to construct a specific type of earthquake, including the characteristic of a target fault. The pseudo-basis function is derived from analyzing the earthquake time history of specific fault harmonic wavelet transform. To show the feasibility of this method, the proposed method was applied to the faults causing the Gyeong-Ju ML5.8 and Pohang ML5.3 earthquakes.

This paper presents a method to find a target using UAVs in LoRa communication environment. The proposed method proposes a UAV flight path so that the target signal can be found without blind spots. The flight path was changed by using the intensity of the transmitted signal during the flight using the variation of the signal strength. We verified the proposed method by simulation and confirmed that it takes a long time to track the target, although the efficiency of the 3 flights is high. It is best to fly three UAVs to reduce time to find target and increase efficiency when the time is a critical factor. The LoRa communication lowers the production cost and makes it possible to construct the system at low cost.
In Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), there are three imaging methods of target localization, such as digital subtraction Angiography (DSA), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Especially, DSA and MR images have a distortion effect generated by each modality. In this research, image properties of DSA were studied. A first essential condition in SRS is an accurate information of target locations, since high dose used to treat a patient may give a complication on critical organ and normal tissue. Hut previous localization program did not consider distortion effect which was caused by image intensifier (II) of DSA. A neurosurgeon could not have an accurate information of target locations to operate a patient. In this research, through distortion correction, we tried to calculate accurate target locations. We made a grid phantom to correct distortion, and a target phantom to evaluate localization algorithm. The grid phantom was set on the front of II, and DSA images were obtained. Distortion correction methods consist of two parts: 1. Bilinear transform for geometrical correction and bilinear interpolation for gray level correction. 2. Automatic detection method for calculating locations of grid crosses, fiducial markers, and target balls. Distortion was corrected by applying bilinear transform and bilinear interpolation to anterior-posterior and left-right image, and locations of target and fiducial markers were calculated by the program developed in this study. Localization errors were estimated by comparing target locations calculated in DSA images with absolute locations of target phantom. In the result, the error in average with and without distortion correction is $\pm$0.34 mm and $\pm$0.41 mm respectively. In conclusion, it could be verified that our localization algorithm has an improved accuracy and acceptability to patient treatment.

The first part is about development of a liquid target for a neutron source, which is designed to overcome many of the limitations of traditional beam-target neutron generators by utilizing a liquid target neutron source. One of the most critical aspects of the beam-target neutron generator is the target integrity under the beam exposure. A liquid target can be a good solution to overcome damage to the target such as target erosion and depletion of hydrogen isotopes in the active layer, especially for the one operating at high neutron fluxes with no need for water cooling. There is no inherent target lifetime for the liquid target neutron generator when used with continuous refreshment of the target surface exposed to the energetic beam. In this work, liquid target containing hydrogen has been developed and tested in vacuum environment. Potentially, liquid targets could allow a point neutron source whose spatial extension is on the order of 1 to $10{\mu}m$. And the second is about the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectrometer which is designed as a five-channel spectral system for ITER main plasma measurement. To develop and verify the design, a two-channel prototype system was fabricated with No. 3 (14.4 nm~31.8 nm) and No. 4 (29.0 nm~60.0 nm) among the five channels. For test of the prototype system, a hollow cathode lamp is used as a light source. The system is composed of a collimating mirror to collect the light from source to slit, and two holographic diffraction gratings with toroidal geometry to diffract and also to collimate the light from the common slit to detectors. The two gratings are positioned at different optical distances and heights as designed. To study the appropriate detector for ITER VUV system, two different electronic detectors of the back-illuminated charge coupled device and the micro-channel plate electron multiplier were installed and the performance has been investigated and compared in the same experimental conditions. The overall system performance was verified by measuring the spectrums.

A critical issue in wireless sensor networks is an energy-efficiency since the sensor batteries have limited energy power and, in most cases, are not rechargeable. The most practical manner relate to this issue is to use a node wake-up scheduling protocol that some sensor nodes stay active to provide sensing service, while the others are inactive for conserving their energy. Especially, CTC (Connected Target Coverage) problem has been considered as a representative energy-efficiency problem considering connectivity as well as target coverage. In this paper, we propose a new energy consumption model considering multiple-targets and create a new problem, CMTC (Connected Multiple-Target Coverage) problem, of which objective is to maximize the network lifetime based on the energy consumption model. Also, we present SPT (Shortest Path based on Targets)-Greedy algorithm to solve the problem. Our simulation results show that SPT-Greedy algorithm performs much better than previous algorithm in terms of the network lifetime.

The target classification for ballistic target(BT) is one of the most critical issues of ballistic defence mode(BDM) in multi-function radar(MFR). Radar responds to the target according to the result of classifying BT and air breathing target(ABT) on BDM. Since the efficiency and accuracy of the classification is closely related to the capacity of the response to the ballistic missile offense, effective and accurate classification scheme is necessary. Generally, JEM(Jet Engine Modulation), HRR(High Range Resolution) and ISAR(Inverse Synthetic Array Radar) image are used for a target classification, which require specific radar waveform, data base and algorithms. In this paper, the classification method that is applicable to a MFR system in a real environment without specific waveform is proposed. The proposed classifier adopts kinematic data as a feature vector to save radar resources at the radar time and hardware point of view and is implemented by fuzzy logic of which simple implementation makes it possible to apply to the real environment. The performance of the proposed method is verified through measured data of the aircraft and simulated data of the ballistic missile.

Generating test patterns for asynchronous sequential circuits remains to be a very difficult problem. There are few algorithms for this problem, and previous works cut feedback loops, and insert synchronous flip-flops in the feedback loops during ATPG. The conventional algorithms are similar to the algorithms for synchronous sequential circuits. This means that the conventional algorithms generate test patterns by modeling asynchronous sequential circuits as synchronous sequential circuits. So, test patterns generated by those algorithms nay not detect target faults when the test patterns are applied to the asynchronous sequential circuit under test. In this paper an algorithm is presented to generate test patterns for asynchronous sequential circuits. Test patterns generated by the algorithm can detect target faults for asynchronous sequential circuits with the minimal possibility of critical race problem and oscillation. And it is guaranteed that the test patterns generated by the algorithm will detect target faults.

A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is a highly-reliable industrial digital computer which supports real-time embedded control applications for safety-critical control systems. Real-time operating systems such as uC/OS have been used for PLCs and must meet real-time constraints. As PLCs have been widely used for industrial control systems and connected to the Internet, they have been becoming a main target of cyberattacks. In this paper, we propose an execution code sanitizer to enhance the security of PLC systems. The proposed sanitizer analyzes PLC programs developed by an IDE before downloading the program to a target PLC, and mitigates security vulnerabilities of the program. Our sanitizer can detect vulnerable function calls and illegal memory accesses in development of PLC programs using a database of vulnerable functions as well as the other database of code patterns related to pointer misuses. Based on these DBs, it detects and removes abnormal use patterns of pointer variables and existence of vulnerable functions shown in the call graph of the target executable code. We have implemented the proposed technique and verified its effectiveness through experiments.

Because of the defect in design, damage in using period, and deterioration in long term exposure to severe environmental condition, degradation of performance in RC (Reinforced Concrete) structures has occurred. This paper contains durability performance evaluation in railway bridges which covers eight districts through field investigation. For the target structures, durability performance is evaluated and the critical problems in use are derived. Additionally, service lifes for the deteriorated structures are evaluated through Durability-Environment index method based on the results from field investigation, and the results are compared with those from the condition assuming the structures without defect, damage, and deterioration. The target structures which consist of RC T girder, PSC girder, RC box, and Rahmen are investigated and the critical damage patterns are derived. They are evaluated to be cracks in PSC girder end, flexural cracks in PSC girder, crack around EPT anchor, and flexural cracks in RC T girder and RC box. The reasons for the critical patterns are also investigated. This study can be utilized for the repair planning considering the different district and the structure types.
