  • Recently due to repeatedly occurrence of flood, a lot of Chinese cities accept new design criteria for their protective project Most of them calculated by a certain type of probability distribution. In order to meet the demand of development economy the return period of design criteria is changed more longer and longer even 1000years, but the data which the calculation dependent on is only about 30-40 years. • Although there has been growing interests in outsourcing the logistics sectors in the industry, not much research was undertaken to provide the processes and standards in choosing the right 3PL for the company. In this research, we attempt to provide the 3PL selection criteria and its priority orders. We surveyed and interviewed the various industry experts and analyzed results using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). The study reveals that manufactures and logistics companies have different understanding of the selection criteria and priorities in outsourcing the 3PL.

  • This note is concerned with the use of incomplete weights in multiple criteria decision making. In an earlier study, an optimistic use of incomplete weights is developed to prioritize decision alternatives, which applies the most favorable set of weights to the alternative to be evaluated. In this note, we develop a method for a pessimistic use, thereby applying the least favorable weight set to the evaluated alternative. This development makes possible a more detailed prioritization of competing alternatives, and hence enhances decision-making powers.

  • This paper describes the development of portable arousal measurement and analysis system. Skin impedance change which responds to the change of arousal level was detected by the three elctrode constant current method and separated into two components(SIR, SIL). Relationship between Nz, IRI and arousal level was studied and criteria of arousal level control was decided by the sleep study. Measured data with and without warning signal were compared and analyzed.

  • In this report US and Korea civil and military simulator certification system is researched, and a plan for improvement is proposed. Korean simulator certification system should adopt FAA's system and improve upon it. Certification criteria should have a basis on FAA certification criteria and add military operation characteristics selectively. Flight test data, used as comparison criteria in certification, should be acquired in package during aircraft development or overseas acquisition. The establishment of certification system is expected to improve external credibility and improve competitiveness in overseas market.

  • In this study, safety requirement & criteria for high-speed rail system were developed for safety verification as a national rules and regulations. Safety criteria were presented through analysis of high-speed rail development specification, survey of related regulations for safety requirements. and review of operation compatibility with domestic rail system. Finally, safety rule consist of system safety requirements and safety criteria for technical parts.

  • Background: Practices involving radionuclides at levels below the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) generic exemptions are exempt from regulation without further consideration. Practices involving radionuclides at levels above those generic exemptions may also be exempt from regulation if they meet certain conditions. These are known as specific exemptions, and each country has established its own specific exemption criteria based on the conditions set out in the IAEA General Safety Requirements (GSR) Part 3. Those conditions relate to the physical or chemical form of the radioactive material as well as to its use or the means of its disposal. Materials and Methods: The specific exemption criteria of eight countries (i.e., the United States of America [US], Japan, France, China, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland [UK], and Germany) were analyzed. Their similarities and differences as compared with the specific exemption criteria of the Republic of Korea (ROK) were analyzed, and suggestions for revision of the Korean regulations were formulated. Results and Discussion: Each country's specific exemption criteria are defined based mostly on the IAEA criteria but tailored to its domestic circumstances. The nine countries with their specific exemption criteria can be broadly categorized into three groups: nuclide-specific exemptions for specific products (the ROK and the US), common criteria for all nuclides without specification of particular products (Japan, France, and China), and both specific and common criteria (Australia, Canada, the UK, and Germany). Conclusion: The specific exemption criteria of the different countries examined in this study could be helpful in reviewing the ROK's specific exemption criteria. Development of common criteria alongside specific criteria for products requiring special attention may be a good way to determine whether new consumer products containing radioisotopes should be regulated.

  • To perform the permanent disposal of metal hydroxide waste from electro-kinetic decontamination, it is necessary to secure the technology for its solidification. The integrity tests on the fabricated solidification should also meet the criteria of the Korea Radioactive Waste Agency. We carried out the solidification of metal hydroxide waste using cement solidification. The integrity tests such as the compressive strength, immersion, leach, and irradiation tests on the fabricated cement solidifications were performed. It was also confirmed that these requirements of the criteria of Korea Radioactive Waste Agency on these cement solidifications were met. The microstructures of all the cement solidifications were analyzed and discussed.
