CFRD (Concrete Faced Rockfill Dam) face slab concrete has a much capability to occur crack due to drying shrinkage, hydration heat and bas compaction etc. Because of crack of concrete induce structural problem and decrease durability of concrete, it is need to reduce crack of concrete. This is an experimental study to analyze the Control Property of Plastic Shrinkage Crack for CFRD face slab concrete. For this purpose, it was investigated and analyzed the engineering properties of plain concrete and using admixtures (polypropylene fiber, fly-ash) according to test result As the result, it was found that crack width and area of concrete using admixtures less than of plain concrete.
Concrete structures occupy the largest proportion of modern infrastructure, and concrete structures often have cracking problems. Existing concrete crack diagnosis methods have limitations in crack evaluation because they rely on expert visual inspection. Therefore, in this study, we design a deep learning model that detects, visualizes, and outputs cracks on the surface of RC structures based on image data by using a CNN (Convolution Neural Networks) model that can process two- and three-dimensional data such as video and image data. do. An experimental study was conducted on an algorithm to automatically detect concrete cracks and visualize them using a CNN model. For the three deep learning models used for algorithm learning in this study, the concrete crack prediction accuracy satisfies 90%, and in particular, the 'InceptionV3'-based CNN model showed the highest accuracy. In the case of the crack detection visualization model, it showed high crack detection prediction accuracy of more than 95% on average for data with crack width of 0.2 mm or more.
A method is described for predicting crack with and spacing in Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC). The crack behavior of SFRC influenced by longitudinal reinforcement ratio, volume and type of sleet fiber, strength of concrete. It can be observed from experimental results that addition of steel fiber to reinforced concrete beam reduces crack width in serviceability limit stales. The proposed method predicts crack widths in cracking stage of the beam. Calculated crack widths obtained for reinforced concrete beams and different volume and type of steel fiber, strength of concrete showed good agreement with experimental results.
Crack detection technique for concrete structures has been developed in this study,. The technique utilizes OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) method that is widely used in the field of optical engineering. At present, some techniques, such as the naked eye inspection, inspection by crack gauge, ultra sonic detection and os on, are used for crack detection. However, these are not economical and are often time-consuming works. This method employs a common optical fiber as a means of crack detection. Th optical fiber is fully attached to concrete surface, and a crack on concrete could be detected to synchronize with the crack on optical fiber. The experimental verification was performed for concrete beams and the intial crack on the beam was detected under cracking force.
This study was performed to know effective control of crack occurred by hydration heat, restraint of multiplication of hydration heat, through mechanical test, strength test and crack control test using fluosilicate salt based anti-crack agent made from by-product during phosphoric acid manufacturing process. Mix proportions for experiment were modulated at 0.495 of water to cement ratio and addition amount of fluosilicate salt based anti-crack agent to $1.0\%$. Condensation time was late and compressive strength of hardened concrete cured at several days was executed to evaluate characteristics of crack control for concrete. It is ascertained that characteristics of crack control for concrete could be improved by an adequate addition of fluosilicate salt based anti-crack agent.
Concrete is said to have a high degree of extensibility when it is subjected to large deformations without cracking. The cracking behavior of concrete in the field may even be more complex. For example, in mass concrete compressive stresses are developed during the very early period when temperatures are rising, and the tensile stresses do not develop until at a later age when the temperature begins to decline. Actual cracking and failure depend on the combination of factors and indeed it is rarely that a single adverse factor is responsible for cracking of concrete. The importance of cracking and the minimum width at which a crack is considered significant depend on the conditions of exposure of the concrete. The ultrasonic pulse measurements can be used to detect the development of cracks in structures such as dams, and to check deterioration due to frost or chemical action. An estimate of the depth of a crack visible at the surface can be obtained by measuring the transit times across the crack for two different arrangements of the transducers placed on the surface. In this paper, the concrete cracks that artificially introduced crack width is 1 and 2mm, crack depth is 2, 4, 6, 8cm were measured by Tc-To Method In consequence, the measured depth was increased with increase of measuring distance from concrete crack. The most reliable results were shown when the introduced crack width was 1mm, and the measuring distance was 10cm from concrete crack.
Precast deck joints have larger crack width than cast-in-place concrete decks. The initial crack typically occurs at the maximum moment but cracks on precast joints are significant and lead to failure of the deck. The present crack equation is applied to cast-in-place decks, and requires correction to calculate the crack width of precast deck joints. This research aims to study the crack width correction equation of precast decks by performing static tests using high strength and normal strength concrete. Based on experimental results, the bending strength of the structural connections of the current precast deck is satisfied. However it is not suitable to calculate and control the crack width of precast loop connections using the current design equation. A crack width calculation equation is proposed for crack control of precast deck loop joints. Also included in this paper are recommendations to improve the crack control of loop connections.
In this paper, the crack properties fiber reinforced concrete(SFRC) beams by experimental method is discussed. The major role played by the steel fiber occurs in the post-cracking zone, in which the fibers bridge across the cracked matrix. Because of its improved ability to bridging cracks, SFRC has better crack properties than that of reinforced concrete(RC). Crack properties are influenced by longitudinal reinforcement ratio, volume and type of steel fibers, strength of concrete and the stress level. Crack width and number of cracks in SFRC beams have been evaluated from experimental test data at various levels of stress for the tested beams.

The cracking behavior of prestressed concrete members is important for the rational design of prestressed concrete structures. However, the test data on the cracking behavior of prestressed concrete structures are very limited. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the crack spacing and crack width in transversely post-tensioned decks of concrete box girder bridges under applied loading. For this purpose, large scale test members of concrete box girder segments were fabricated and tested. The crack widths, crack spacings and crack patterns were investigated for various load levels. The crack widths and steel strains were continuously monitored during the loading process. To derive a rational predicton equation for crack width, the bond characteristics of post-tensioned steel and nonprestressed rebar in the PSC members were explored first. This was done by measuring the strains of prestressing steel and nonprestressed rebar in the test members under loading. A simple equation for the prediction of maximum crack width in transversely post-tensioned concrete one-way slabs is proposed by considering bond characteristic of prestressing steel and nonprestressed reinforcement. The comparison of proposed equation with experimental data shows good correlation. The present study indicates that ACI and CEB-FIP code equations exhibit rather large deviation from test data on prestressed concrete members.
