Purpose: The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effects of Problem-Based Learning(PBL) in nursing students. Method: Data was collected from 70 junior nursing students who studied through PBL curriculum from C college, by 3 times from August to December 2005. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 10.0. Results: There were no statistically significant improvement in study related characteristics; appropriateness to nursing, interest in nursing knowledge, interest in clinical practicum and evaluation PBL learning course; satisfied with teaching content, satisfied with teaching method, and self-confidence in nursing. But there were statistically significant improvement in metacognition, self efficacy and learning motivation. Conclusion: Based on above results further research should be doing about subject of diverse nursing students who are studying PBL, development of PBL practice package and evaluation it's effects, and exploration to many elements that influenced evaluation PBL learning course.

Purpose: This study attempted to describe hospital nurses' pre-diabetes knowledge, performance and expectation of patient. Methods: The total of 204 hospital nurses were administered the questionnaires. The questionnaire comprises general background information (including sex, age, religion, education and career), ten researcher-generated questions regarding knowledge about pre-diabetes, performance of patient education (including how many people encounter in workplace, how often teaching, how many minutes required to teach and course contents) and expectation (including need improvement of teaching, barrier to education and desirable course contents and teaching methods) Results: The average score of hospital nurses' pre-diabetes knowledge was as low as 0.82 (82% correctness). On comparison of the knowledge levels among ten pre-diabetes knowledge dimensions, the highest score was 0.95 for necessary of medical check-up. The lowest score was 0.57 for complication can rarely happen. Significant correlations were observed for education, career and knowledge regarding pre-diabetes. Moreover, 49.5% of the nurses did not instruct patients about pre-diabetes, 24.5% taught prevention skills to a third of the pre-diabetes patients they encountered, and 61.2% nurses disseminated information under 5 minutes. Improvement was necessary for 78 nurses (75.8%). Conclusion: Pre-diabetes awareness among nurses is necessary.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the effectiveness of CPR training for nurses in the 6-sigma course. Method: The participants were nurses and doctors who worked in the medical center. For data analysis, the SPSS/PC14.0 program was used. Result: The total 11 categories of the primary problems were revealed on the recognition of carrying out CPR by nurses and doctors. After understanding the nurses' CPR knowledge and the practical ability, the survey showed 14.97 points and 67.12 points. After the education, the scores were increased from 14.87 to 23.25 in knowledge and from 67.12 to 93.43 in practical ability. The 6-sigma problem was ended as worked up the management plan and understood the changes over the management improving team. Conclusion: This study carries an emphasis on understanding of various CPR performance problems applied with 6-sigma in ward. In addition, improvement activities in relation to policy of hospitals suggest the high possibilities that the application of the improvement activities could be extended into the entire hospitals.

The purpose of this study is to formulate the direction lot improvement of the curriculum on environmental education teacher training. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, the nature of the courses related to subject matter education should be changed from the course of teaching profession into the course of special study, Second, the combination of the courses related to environmental education and environmental science is needed, Third, the curriculum should sufficiently include the contents of the 7th curriculum, Fourth, the curriculum should contain the courses of environmental science which can help the pre-service teachers to understand the fundamentals and concepts of ecology, This curriculum should also include the courses which can improve the pre-service teacher's ability to teach for the development of student's affirmative environmental value and attitude, Fifth, the curriculum should include the courses which are useful for the pre-service teachers to learn teaching method such as case study and simulation for the education of environmental knowledge and of cognitive domain about environmental issues. Sixth, the curriculum should reflect the contents of the regulation for teacher certificate which was renewed in Jan. of 2000.

This study developed a sound art programming course using pure data to foster computational thinking and convergence of art and technology in college students who are non-computer majors. This paper presents an example of operating a curriculum that designed and developed a sound art-centered music programming subject using Pure Data, derives educational outcomes and improvement measures for classes, and presents a creative convergence education program of technology and art. It has a purpose. For the study, we looked at examples of educational programs that combine art and technology, as well as pure data and sound art, and based on this, we designed and developed a sound art programming course for non-majors. The curriculum was operated based on the developed subjects, and the results showed increased interest in programming through art and technology convergence classes, active class participation through autonomous choice, creation of a new perspective on art, improvement of computational thinking skills, collaboration and communication. The educational effect of ability enhancement was confirmed. We expect that this study will be able to present a new perspective on the convergence education of art and technology, including artistic diversity and understanding of new media according to the development of media.

Program learning outcome is widely used for assessing and improving program quality. There are various methodologies that can measure program quality and improve program learning outcomes. In this paper, we used formative approach in Capstone design course, since it is the most effective in terms of improving program learning outcomes due to the course's intrinsic nature. To integrate a formative approach into Capstone design course, we develop a feedback structure which is a key element in formative approach and define several sub phases that manage feedback structures and their own evaluation criteria. As a result, we observed a noticeable improvement for students performance in capstone design course.

In order to provide basic data necessary for developing a curriculum to enhance SW education for elementary school teacher students, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 1,260 students at G National University of Education. The results are summarized as follows. First, it is necessary to improve class time of SW education for the college students and revise the SW curriculum to improve SW education capacity for teacher students. Second, in the liberal arts course, it is necessary to develop the teaching and learning materials and the textbooks using various software. Third, in the major course, the Subject Pedagogy programs should be expanded rather than the subject content programs. Fourth, in the specialization course, the programming language education focusing on the Entry and EPL should be strengthened so that it can be linked with the elementary school curriculum. In addition, it is necessary to expand the choice of subjects for the students by reducing the number of required courses and increasing the number of elective courses.

The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning and essence of the learning experiences of K University students majoring in educational school librarianship. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, an open-ended question-based focus group interview was conducted for 12 major students who had graduated from K University's master's degree course within two years. By analyzing the contents of the answers, 9 themes, 35 categories, and 104 concepts were derived from the learning experience in the master's course. Looking at the main analysis results for each area, the motive for entering the master's course was to acquire a librarian teacher qualification, which is a condition in applying for the employment examination. The Satisfaction with the learning experience was an average of 7.66 out of 10 points. In addition, the most dissatisfied parts during the master's course was the contents of the subjects and classes that were not helpful in the operation of the school library and the employment examination for librarian teachers, therefore the response was that improvement is necessary for the future development of the librarian master's degree curriculum.

It is difficult for us to teach the introduction course of programming to beginners just starting their college life. What is particularly hard to do is to provide them with learning motivation so that the freshmen can be easily and rapidly adapted to programming work and to enhance their will to learn. In this paper, we suggest a method to apply LEGO Mindstorms robot to the introduction course of programming in purpose to allow programming beginners to be motivated and have higher will to learn so that they can receive programming education easily and joyfully. This paper attempts to find reasonable methods for improvement which can help programming beginners to be motivated and encouraged to learn in the course of C programming education and can facilitate learning effects as well, and conducts education using LEGO Mindstorms robot as a way to solve problems like students' low interest or will to learn. According to the result of providing the freshmen with the introduction course of C programming to which the suggested method was applied, it was found that their academic achievement in programming education enhanced through their increased motivation and will to learn programming. This result shows that students' interest, motivation, and will to learn the subject are statistically significant improvement through the course that employs LEGO Mindstorms robot.
