The turbulent properties in a mixed statistically stationary flow were investigated experimentally by a pseudo stereoscopic PIV. In order to validate the experimental results, the profiles of the turbulent kinetic energy were evaluated with the flow features. A mechanical agitator having 6 blades was installed at the bottom of the mixing tank (D=60cm, H=60cm). The agitator was rotated with 80rpm clockwise and counter-clockwise. For the measurements, three cameras were used and all were synchronized. The images captured by one of the three cameras was used for the measurement of rotational speed, and the images captured by the other two cameras were used to measure three dimensional components of velocity vectors. All vectors captured at the same rotational angle were phase averaged to construct three-dimensional vector fields to reconstruct the spatial distribution of the flow properties. It was seen that the jet scrolling along the tank was the main source of mixing.

A reversed-phase liquid chromatographic method for decursin and decursinol angelate of Angelicae gigantis Radix, an important crude drug in Korean traditional medicine, was developed and validated. Decursin and decursinol angelate, the structure isomer (pyranocoumarin) each other, are the main organic constituents in Angelicae gigantis Radix. This method was developed using a RP-18 column, UV detector at 280 nm and 50% acetonitrile solution containing 0.01 M sodium dodecyl sulfate and 25 mM sodium dihydrogen phosphate (pH 5.0) as the mobile phase. Various validation parameters were included and evaluated satisfactorily. Linearity was established in range 2-75 mg/ml of decursin and decursinol angelate (correlation coefficient = 0.9997 and 0.9995, respectively). This analytical method showed good accuracy (98.1% and 99.5%, respectively). Precision (repeatability) revealed a relative standard deviation value of 1.71% (decursin) and 3.19% (decursinol angelate). For intermediate precision measure the considered variables were equipment and days. A robustness test showing the influence of deferent counter-ion concentration in mobile phase was also performed.

As one of staff members participated in the full course of the plant construction project of On-san Refinery to its successful completion. I had my past expierence that the plant construction project was so complicated, and a Long period required, and thus there were so money problems to be solved. Among the problem, I mainly noticed that the following listed points were solved and improved. 1. Each drawing should be in every accuracy possible. 2. Contract should be specified in every detail possible. 3. All invoiced prices of breack down list should be coped with the current market prices. 4. All execution of work should be in the most accuracy. A. Planing execution of work. B. Coordination with supervisor group. C. Economical method for execution of work. D. Safety control. 3, Calculation work field should be established seperately 6. Each staff members should be work at the best of his pride.

Despite the unfamiliar term "multifunctionality of agriculture" and the tremendous number of debates made over the past 10 years, multiple benefits from paddy rice farming in the Asian monsoon region are very significance due to the various inherent characteristics of paddy rice in this lesion. They were identified as rural vitalization, social security, nature and environmental preservations, and social and cultural functions. As studies estimating the monetary value of nature and environmental functions in Korea and Japan revealed, the economic value of multifunctionality from paddy rice farming reached to 70∼150% of total annual rice production cost of each country, and would have been even higher, had other functions been included. Therefore, interdisciplinary and international researches within the monsoon Asian countries are necessary to develop counter-measure logics against the Western dry land farming countries, emphasizing the efforts to disseminate worldwide the significance and recognition of the multifunctionality of paddy rice farming under the Asian monsoon climate.

Pulsed ultrasonic Doppler system is a useful diagnostic instrument to measure blood-flow-velocity, velocity profile, and volume-blood-flow. This system is more powerful compare with 2-dimensional B-scan tissue image. A system has been deve- loped and ii being evaluated using TMS 32010 DSP. We use this DSP for the purpose of real-time spectrum analyzer to obtain spectrogram in singlegate pulsed Doppler system and for the serial comb filter to cancel clutter and zero crossing counter to estimate Doppler mean frequency in multigate pulsed Doppler system. The Doppler shift of the backscattered signals is sensed in a phase detector. This Doppler signal corresponds to the mean velocity over a some region in space defined by the ultrasonic beam dimensions, transmitted pulse duration, and transducer ban(iwidth. Multi- gate pulsed Doppler system enable the transcutaneous and simultaneous assessment of the velocities in a number of adjacent sample volumes as a continuous function of time. A multigate pulsed Doppler system processing the information originating from presented.

다양한 기계적 거동을 관찰할 때 예상되는 역효과의 측정 방법을 연구하는 것이 필수적이고, 고무 호스, 알루미늄 sleeve와 pipe에 의해 만들어진 Automotive Air-Conditioner-Hose의 응력과 변형 특성을 측정할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 자동차에 있어 에어컨 냉매 순환에 중요한 역할을 하는 Automotive Air-Conditioner-Hose의 응력과 변형 특성을 유한요소법을 이용하여 분석하였다.

There has been increasing attention about the prevention and counter-measure of disasters. Particularly, for the case of fire disaster, early detection reduces the damage caused by fire significantly and effective detection method is important. Since most existing detectors need to be located at a close distance to fire, analyzing camera images to find fire becomes active research topic. In this paper, we analyze the color characteristics of fire images in various color spaces and report the experimental detection results. The best result is 77.8% success rate in YIQ space.

A Surface Acoustic Wave Gas sensor for NO, CO, H$_2$gas detection was designed fabricated, and tested. A delay line device was designed to composite a single mode SAW oscillator which enables to measure a SAW velocity. To reduce the effect of temperature and humidity, dual delay line oscillator circuit was used. And final output was measured by digital frequency counter. NO, CO, H$_2$gas were detected by WO$_3$thin film deposited on the path of the Delay Line.

The errors in machining process by CNC machining center are due to many elements, such as the delay of the servo drivers, friction and the gain mismatch between x-axis and y-axis motors and so on. We made a counter circuit to measure the output of motor encoders for the motion error analysis of a CNC machining center, and have measured the errors experimentally when the CNC performs a circular interpolation. We have also used an iterative learning method to reduce the radius errors and stick motion errors generated by the CNC machining center performing a circular interpolation. The proposed learning scheme worked well and the circle obtained has smaller error.

This paper presents a recoil and counter recoil(R&CR) motion measurement method using linear variable differential transformers(LVDT). The output of a LVDT is obtained from the differential voltage of the 2nd transformers. As a sensor core is attached at the motion body, the output is directly proportional to the core motion. Displacement, velocity and acceleration are measure from the core length. With a comparison between the measurement result and the known value which is obtained by the precision steel tape, the accuracy and the usefulness of the proposed scheme is validated.
