Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate를 이용한 W/O/W 다중 에멀젼의 제조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Formation of a W/O/W Multiple Emulsion by Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate)

  • 다중 에멀젼은 다층 구조를 갖는 에멀젼으로 W/O/W형과 O/W/O형으로 구분된다. 화장품 분야에서 다중 에멀젼은 불안정한 유효성분의 안정화를 위해 이용되지만, 제조의 어려움과 안정성 등의 문제로 잘 이용되지 않는다. 본 연구에서는 다중 에멀젼의 제조에 있어 2 단계(two-step) 유화법을 이용하여 W/O/W형 다중 에멀젼을 제조하였고, 다중 에멀젼의 형성에 영향을 주는 요소 중 유화제의 계열에 초점을 두어 유화 안정성 및 에멀젼 형성정도를 측정하였다. 결과를 통해 다중 에멀젼은 오일의 특성에 따라 polyglyceryl-10 stearate 유화제에 의해 다중 에멀젼의 형성이 달라지는 것을 확인하였고, 이를 통해 주 유화제로써 polyglyceryl-10 stearate 유화제의 적용이 다중 에멀젼 형성 및 안정화의 가능성이 있음을 제시하였다.

Anti-Aging Activity of Lavandula angustifolia Extract Fermented with Pediococcus pentosaceus DK1 Isolated from Diospyros kaki Fruit in UVB-Irradiated Human Skin Fibroblasts and Analysis of Principal Components

  • The effects of Lavandula angustifolia extract fermented with Pediococcus pentosaceus DK1 on UVB-mediated MMP-1 expression and collagen decrease in human skin fibroblasts were determined, and the conversion of its components was also analyzed. Fermentation was performed at varying L. angustifolia extract and MRS medium concentrations, and optimal fermentation conditions were selected. L. angustifolia extracts showed decreased cytotoxicity after fermentation in the fibroblasts. UVB-irradiated fibroblasts treated with fermented L. angustifolia extract showed MMP-1 expression 8.2-14.0% lower than that in UVB-irradiated fibroblasts treated with non-fermented extract. This was observed even at fermented extract concentrations lower than those of non-fermented extracts. Fibroblasts treated with fermented L. angustifolia extract showed 20% less reduction in collagen production upon UVB irradiation than those treated with non-fermented extracts. UVB-irradiated fibroblasts treated with fermented L. angustifolia extracts showed 50% higher inhibition of ROS generation than those treated with non-fermented extract. Luteolin and apigenin glycosides of L. angustifolia were converted during fermentation, and identified using RP-HPLC and LC/ESI-MS. Therefore, the effects of L. angustifolia extract on MMP-1 expression and collagen decrease in UVB-irradiated human skin fibroblasts were increased through fermentation by P. pentosaceus.

텍스트마이닝을 이용한 미용성형 주요 요인에 관한 연구 (A Text Mining Approach to the Analysis of Key Factors for Cosmetic Plastic Surgery)

  • Recently, the growth of beauty industry such as plastic surgery and beauty is continued every year in Korea. With the increased interest in appearance based on the improvement of life standard and the development of media, people's perception of cosmetic plastic surgery is changing. Now, as the service for consumer satisfaction based on their desire, the perception of plastic surgery medical service is changed to the high value-added industry with the high growth potential. Thus, this study aims to suggest the strategies for providing the medical service that could satisfy customers, by drawing the factors cognized as important when customers aim to get the cosmetic plastic surgery, and then additionally analyzing the relationships of those factors. On top of performing the topic modeling based on customers' comments data of social commerce related to cosmetic plastic surgery, this study also conducted the network analysis for visualizing the relations of each keywords. The drawn main factors were divided by applying the sub-categories of the SERVQUAL theory, and the additional characteristics of plastic surgery were shown by referring the relevant previous researches. Moreover, the interview with the cosmetic plastic surgery specialists (plastic surgeons) and customers who actually received the plastic surgery, helped the understanding of the interpretation of each factor and the actual relevant phenomenons. The significance of this study is to draw and discuss the main factors that should be observed by Korean cosmetic plastic surgery medical institutes, by mining and analyzing the opinions of customers interested in the cosmetic plastic surgery and procedure with the use of topic modeling. In other words, the quality of medical service of cosmetic plastic surgery could be improved by presenting the key factors that could be considered by the cosmetic plastic surgery medical service suppliers and also the actual strategies.

청주지역 여대생의 화장품 구매행동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Cosmetic Purchasing Behaviors among Female College Students in Cheongju Area)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate cosmetic purchasing behaviors among female college students in Cheongju area. Three-hundred female college students who were attending universities in Cheongju area were selected. Questionnaire survey method and SPSS computer program were utilized. The findings of this study were as follow: First, 8.5% of monthly disposible money was spent for cosmetic and this amount of cosmetic expenditure was a little burden to female college students. Second, most female college students began to make up from freshmen or sophomore. And they were making up for self-satisfaction rather than showing off. Third, the purchasing behaviors of female college students were most affected by TV advertisements. Fourth, female college students thought that cosmetic is a necessity rather than luxury for them. And they were considering quality when they buy cosmetic first and price second. Fifth, female college students showed that rather low level of impulse purchasing behaviors.

  • 국내상황을 볼 때 수입화장품의 점유율 상승으로 인해 국내시장 잠식이 확대되고 있으며, 기능성 화장품의 성장 가능성에 대한 제도적 뒷받침이 미비하고, 천연소재를 사용한 고기능성 화장품 시장규모가 확대 추세에 있다. 외부적 환경으로는 무역역조가 심화되는 추세이며 해외 수출기반이 취약한 상태이어서 제외국과 비교하여 기능성 화장품 개발 촉진을 위한 제도가 미비한 상태이다. 따라서 화장품 산업의 진흥을 위하여 기본방향으로 고품질 신제품 개발을 촉진하고, 세계 시장으로의 수출을 확대하며 화장품법령의 합리적 개선을 추구하여야 한다.

  • As elderly population has been increasing, our society has to be prepared the social system. Especially female elderly increasing means that market will change and business model should also change. Every women want to be beautiful and looks young and as women get aged, women eager to be younger and beautiful more. The purposes of this study were to find out how was represented in cosmetic market ad and how elderly customers has been changed. In developed society, baby boomer has been increased, and their power of purchase also has been increased in cosmetic market. In our society, cosmetic market has been developing as customer's demand and whitening focused cosmetics has been increasing especially. Elderly skin need more moisture focused cosmetics and for developing the elderly cosmetic market in Korea, we need more research about korean elderly women's social psychological character and customer's character.

Determination of panthenol, cholecalciferol and tocopherol in cosmetic products by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in SIM mode

  • A novel simple method to detect vitamins in cosmetic products by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) has been developed. Three vitamins(panthenol, cholecalciferol and tocopherol) were used for this study. Vitamins were prepared by dissolving in tetrahydrofuran(THF), and silylated with bis-trimethylsilyltrifluoroacetamide-trichloromethylsilane(BSTFA). Silated vitamins were separated on a fuses-silica capillary column coated with DB-5. The identification of each vitamin was accomplished by retention time and mass spectrum library search with a computer, and the quantitation was made in the selected-ion monitoring(SIM) mode of GC-MS. SIM mode had given sensitivity to determine 50pg of panthenol, 285pg of cholecalciferol and 130pg of tocopherol. Linearity was maintained over the range 0.005-0.20% for each vitamin. Each cosmetic product(i.e. hair tonic and lotion) was found to contain amounts of the vitamins. This method was sensitive and gave 77.5-99.9% recovery of each vitamin from these cosmetic products. From these results, we concluded that silylation with BSTFA followed by GC-MS analysis allows the simple, covenient and exact determination of panthenol, cholecalciferol and tocopherol.

효소 화장품 개발을 위한 효소 안정화 기술 (Stabilization of Enzyme for Application to Cosmetic Products)

  • Development of stabilized enzyme was attempted for cosmetic applications. Papain, a proteolytic enzyme, was stabilized through conjugation with a soluble carbohydrate biopolymer, SC-glucan$^{TM}$ . With a novel structure of the conjugation site, stability of the enzyme was significantly enhanced such that more than 90% of the initial activity retained after a month storage at 45$^{\circ}C$, while no activity were detected in native enzyme or enzyme simply mixed with SC-glucan$^{TM}$ after the storage. Conjugation with SC-glucan$^{TM}$ not only extended the half-life of the enzyme on storage at higher temperature, but was also found to protect enzymes against some components contained in cosmetic products for skin care. Cosmetic lotion containing 1 % papain conjugate was more effective and less irritative in exfoliating stratum corneum of human skin than the lotion containing 5% lactic acid, one of the current popular exfoliating agents.gents.

  • Apigenin-7-O-${\beta}$-D-glucoside, chrysoeriol, and luteolin were isolated from the aqueous ethanolic extract of Zostera marina L. leaves as the scavengers of reactive oxygen species (ROS) with the SC$\_$50/ values of 0.18 mM, 0.68 mM, and 0.18 mM against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 0.04 mM, 0.03 mM, and 0.01 mM against superoxide radicals in the xanthine/xanthine oxidase system, respectively. The luteolin suppressed the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) up to 44% at 4.0 ${\mu}$M. (omitted)
