  • The environmental regulation violation of the Korean firms is causing severe environmental pollution lately. Nevertheless, there are few studies on the firm's pattern of environmental regulation violation. In this paper, for the pattern of environmental regulation violation of the Korean firms, we give a type of statistical data analysis using the correspondence analysis. Therefore, with more effective control and inspection based on this, we have an effective and enforceable system decreasing the violative firms.

  • The number of electronic mail(E-mail) has been increased dramatically as a result of expanding internet and information technology. Although there are many conveniences of E-mail in the bright side, some serious problems occur because of E-mail in its dark side. One of the problems is spam-mail which is unsolicited mail and also called bulk mail. This paper presents a set of patterns of spam-mail occurrences within a week using the correspondence analysis. The correspondence analysis is an exploratory multivariate technique that converts data into a particular type of graphical display in which the rows and columns are depicted as points. One of the meaningful patterns is a great increment of adult and phishing related spam-mails at weekends so any spam-mail filters should be designed to cope with this pattern.

  • Various kinds of ordination methods such as correspondence analysis and canonical correspondence analysis are used in community ecology to visualize relationships among species, sites, and environmental variables. Ter Braak (1986), Jackson and Somers (1991), Parmer (1993), compared the ordination methods using eigenvalue and distance graph. However, these methods did not show the relationship between population and biplot because they are only based on surveyed data. In this paper, a method that measures the extent to show population information to biplot was introduced to compare ordination methods objectively.

  • A study of forest vegetation in Mt. $T\v{o}kyu$ National Park was investigated by ordination technique. By TWINSPAN(Two-Way Indicator Species Analysis) method, 10 groups were recognized as follows: pinus densiflora, Quercus variabilis, Quercus serrata, Quercus mongolica-Rhododendron schlippenbachii, Quercus mongolica-Abies koreana, Quercus mongolica-Acer pseudo-sieboldi-amum, Quercus mongolica-Symplocos chinensis for. pilosa, Carpinus laxiflora, Fraxinus mandshurica and Taxus cuspidata groups. The floristic composition of these groups showed high correlation to soil moisture(r=0.831), altitude(r=0.784), topography(r=-0.722), organic matter(r=0.642), and pH(r=-0.509) among various environmental factors. According to the results of CCA(Canonical Correspondence Analysis) Pinus densiflora group and Quercus variabilis group were situated in a xeric area at a lower altitude where soil nutrients were poor compared with the other groups. Fraxinus mandshurica group was distributed throughout the valley with high soil moisture and good nutrients, Quercus serrata group and Carpinus laxiflora group were found in the low altitude region with good nutrients, Quercus mongolica group, at the high altitude region with good nutrients, and Quercus mongolica-Acer koreana and Taxus cuspidata at higher altitudes(1, 400-1600 m).

  • Social network analysis is a graphical technique to search the relationships and characteristics of nodes (people, companies, and organizations) and an important node for positioning a visualized social network figure; however, it is difficult to characterize nodes in a social network figure. Therefore, their relationships and characteristics could be presented through an application of correspondence analysis to an affiliation matrix that is a type of similarity matrix between nodes. In this study, we provide the relationships and characteristics around authors and keywords in the JKSS(Journal of the Korean Statistical Society) of the Korean Statistical Society through the use of social network analysis and correspondence analysis.

  • This study considered the selection attributes of bakery consumers and schematized characteristic attributes of being selected by customers by image through a correspondence analysis in terms of own preferring bakery. Self-administrated questionnaires were completed by consumers (452 samples), and the data were analysed by frequency, chi-square, one-way ANOVA, reliability analysis and correspondence analysis. According to the survey results regarding the mean value on bakery selection attributes, it was shown to be in the order of taste ($4.73{\pm}0.70$), sanitation ($4.70{\pm}0.68$), service ($4.21{\pm}0.84$), price ($4.03{\pm}0.92$), consideration ($4.01{\pm}0.96$), communication ($4.01{\pm}0.96$), health ($3.99{\pm}0.98$), and location ($3.83{\pm}0.99$). In the analysis of difference with regard to the selection attributes according to the preferred bakery, both consideration ($4.05{\pm}0.90$) and communication ($3.98{\pm}0.93$) showed a high value in individual bakery, thereby presenting a significant difference (p<0.05). As a result of having carried out correspondence analysis in order to prepare an image map according to the preferred bakery, the selection attributes of employees' service and communication showed the closest image map to individual bakery. Location and sanitation were very close to franchise bakery. Further, other bakery shops were schematized in a relatively close distance to price.

  • The damages from DDoS attacks are increasing as DDoS attacks are taking various forms. This has resulted not only in decreased reliability of organizations and corporations but also in the threat of national security. Organizations and corporations are making significant efforts in developing a system through which they can appropriately correspond to DDoS attacks. However, the studies on objective index for evaluating the performance of DDoS correspondence are lacking. The majority of the existing studies have been on the information protection & management system on a large scale. Accordingly, the scope of this thesis will be limited to DDoS correspondence to propose correspondence index for quantitatively measuring and managing them. The statistical techniques such as SMART technique and factor analysis will be utilized accordingly.

  • Canonical correspondence analysis is an ordination method used to visualize the relationships among sites, species and environmental variables. However, projection results are fluctuations if the samples slightly change and consistent interpretation on ecological similarity among species tends to be difficult. We use the bootstrap methods for canonical correspondence analysis to solve this problem. The bootstrap method results show that the variations of coordinate points are inversely proportional to the number of observations and coverage rates with bootstrap confidence interval approximates to nominal probabilities.

  • Purpose - In this paper, we consider more segmented types of markets than conventional version of ones in South Korea and explore the degree of relations between these markets and the related factors with them. In this case, ten attributes of types of markets mentioned above will be considered. To be more specific, the numerical strength is evaluated and graphical approach is expressed on two-dimensional plane, if the association exists between the considered variables. Research design, data, and methodology - This work is done by the 2013 report on the commercial building lease offered by Small Businessmen Promotion Institute (May/2013~August/2013) and exploited by statistical analyses such as correspondence analysis and a chi-squared test in IBM SPSS 23.0. Results - Findings of this paper indicate that a variable Korean market, including traditional markets, are closely connected with variables administrative district, sales and occupation instead of company, age group and business duration and the detailed associations between variables can be obtained by inspecting results of correspondence analysis. Conclusions - We can understand where the status of the Korean markets stands now through this work and also government authority and local autonomy can take advantage of these findings to enhance the revitalization of Korean markets and other markets.

  • Massive and various types of data recorded everywhere are called big data. Therefore, it is important to analyze big data and to nd valuable information. Besides, to standardize unstructured big data is important for the application of statistical methods. In this paper, we will show how to standardize unstructured big data using MapReduce which is a distribution processing system. We also apply simple correspondence analysis and multiple correspondence analysis to nd the relationship and characteristic of direct relationship words for Samsung Electronics and The Korea Economic Daily newspaper as well as Apple Inc.
