  • The measurements includings 22 items such as height, weight, body width were carried out for Korean male and female students, one hundred each, from 18 to 24 years old. The correlation coefficient was calculated for every two items. The values are basic for the Clothing construction and the Pattern grading. The results are as follows : 1) The measuring values are as shown in Table 1 and the index are as shown in Table 2. 2) The correlation coefficient of length to length is larger than that of length to girth and that of length to width. The correlation coefficient of girth to girth is larger than girth to length and that of girth to width. The correlation coefficient of width to width does not show remarkable difference from those of others. 3) The correlation coefficient values of weight to lengths, weight to lengths, weight to girths and weight to width are larger. Among these, the correlation coefficient of weight to girths is the largest. 4) The correlation coefficient in general shows almost positive values except a few exception showing negative values. 5) No meaning differences are found between males and females.

  • Objective: The interest of clinicians is increasing due to the newly established medical insurance for pulmonary rehabilitation. Improvement of respiratory muscle strength and pulmonary function is an important factor in pulmonary rehabilitation, and this study aims to investigate the correlation between changes in respiratory muscle contraction thickness that can affect respiratory muscle strength and pulmonary function. Design: Cross-sectional observational study. Methods: Thirty-one subjects (male=13, female=18) participated in this study. The respiratory muscle strength was measured by dividing it into inspiratory/forced expiratory muscles, and the pulmonary function was measured by forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), and FEV1/FVC. To evaluate the respiratory muscle length increase, in resting and concentric contraction thickness of diaphragm, external/internal oblique, transverse abdominis, and rectus abdominis were measured by using ultrasonography. Results: Inspiratory muscle strength showed a significant correlation with the length increase of the inspiratory muscle (r=0.368~0.521, p<0.05), and forced expiratory muscle strength showed a significant correlation with length increase of forced expiratory muscle (r=0.356~0.455, p<0.05). However, pulmonary function was not correlated with the length increase of the respiratory muscle. Conclusions: In this study, a correlation between respiratory muscle strength and respiratory muscle length increase was confirmed, but no correlation with the pulmonary function was found. It is considered that the respiratory muscle strength can be improved by increasing the respiratory muscle thickness through appropriate respiratory muscle training.

  • The Purposes of this study were to investigate the significant correlation among the length changes of body surface total lines and between the length changes of body surface total lines and those of component body surface segment lines, and to reveal anticipated relation among body surface length changes by the lower limb movement including all movement direction of hip joint, knee joint & ankle joint for the more functional clothing making & designing. 10 Crosswise & 5 lengthwise body surface total lines and 48 crosswise & 39 lengthwise body surface segment lines of 26 female college students aged from 18 to 24 years were measured directly on the body surface and analyzed by ANOYA & Multiple Comparison Test(Tukey), and the length changes of them were calculated as the difference of the mean length at Fl movement from the mean length at each movement and were analyzed by PEARSON CORRELATION. The results were as following : 1. Correlation among the length changes of body surface total lines (1) Correlation among the length changes of body surface total lines significantly changed by the movement ; 1) The more GA5 expanded, the more GA6 & GA7 each expanded, and the more GA18 expanded, the more GA1 & GA3 each expanded. 2) The more GA15 expanded, the less GA14 each contracted. 3) The more GA7 expanded, the larger GA17 contracted. 4) The more GA1 & GA18 expanded, the larger GA16 contracted, and the larger GM contracted, the less GA16 contracted. (2) Only GA7 and GA17(at F4) showed high (over r=0.7) correlation coefficient, But others' correlation coefficients were r=0.4~0.7. (3) Correlation coefficients among & between girth items and length items 1) Correlation coefficients among girth items were shown + ; between GA3 and GA4, GA5, GA8, between GA5 and GA6, GA7, GA9 each, between GA1 and GA6 and between GA4 and GA7. 2) Correlation coefficients among length items were shown + or - ; shown + between GA14 and GA15 and between GA17 and GA16 ; but Shown - Between GAlS and GA16. 3) Correlation coefficients between girth items and length items were mainly shown - : shown-between GA1 and GA16, GA17, between, GA4 and GA16, between GA6, GA7 each and GA17, between GA8 and GA18 ; but shown + between GA1, GA3 each and GA18 and between GA8 and GA14 were shown +. 2. Correlation between the length changes of body surface total lines and those of component body surface segment lines. (1) All correlation coefficients were + except A147 of GA14. (2) Correlation coefficient over r=0.7 was shown ; between GA3 and CB3, A35 each, between GA5 and A054, between GA6 and A63, between GA7 and A72, A74 each, between GA8 and A83, A84 each, between GA15 and A153, between GA16 and Al64, Al65 each, between GA18 and A189 : but was not shown between GA4, GA17 and it's component body surface segment lines each. (3) Characteristics of correlation between the length changes of body surface total lines and those of body surface segment lines ; 1) If significant correlation of body surface total lines were expansion parts, it's component body surface segment lines was also expansion segment and the otherwise were the same. But exception was shown between expansion line GA3 and A031 (at F4), between GA18 and AlS9 (at F6) and between GA14 and A147, so to speak GA3 & lines and GA14 was contraction total line oppositely A147 was expansion. 2) The more GA3, GAlS expanded, the less A031, A189 contracted. 3) The more GA14 contracted, the more A147 expanded. 4) All correlation except the above 2), 3), the more total lines (GA1, GA3, GA5, GA15, GA16, GA18) expanded, the more segment lines (A15, CB1, A31, A34, CB3, A52, A54, A153, A169, A181) expanded, or the larger total lines (GA14, GA16, GA17) contracted, the larger segment lines (A141, A142, A161, A164, A165, A172) contracted.

  • This study provided a new research perspective for processing and analyzing AE data to evaluate rock failure. Cluster method and information entropy theory were introduced to investigate temporal and spatial correlation of acoustic emission (AE) events during the rock failure process. Laboratory experiments of granite subjected to compression were carried out, accompanied by real-time acoustic emission monitoring. The cumulative length and dip angle curves of single links were fitted by different distribution models and distribution functions of link length and directionality were determined. Spatial scale and directionality of AE event distribution, which are characterized by two parameters, i.e., spatial correlation length and spatial correlation directionality, were studied with the normalized applied stress. The entropies of link length and link directionality were also discussed. The results show that the distribution of accumulative link length and directionality obeys Weibull distribution. Spatial correlation length shows an upward trend preceding rock failure, while there are no remarkable upward or downward trends in spatial correlation directionality. There are obvious downward trends in entropies of link length and directionality. This research could enrich mathematical methods for processing AE data and facilitate the early-warning of rock failure-related geological disasters.

  • The roughness coefficients were estimated by the Manning's equation for the measured stage and flow velocity of Bocheong stream basin in Kum river. The relationships between the estimated roughness coefficients and the geomorphologic factors were formulated by the linear, logarithmic, exponential and power type function, thereafter correlation equations were presented. The correlation analysis was performed between the measured stream length and the basin area of Bocheong stream basin by the linear, logarithmic, exponential and power type function, and correlation equation for the stream length was given. The roughness coefficient has strong correlationship with stream slope, but low correlation coefficients with stream length and basin area. For the correlationship with the roughness coefficients and the stream slope, the logarithmic type function has the smallest correlation coefficient, on the other hand, the exponential type function has the largest correlation coefficient. For the relationship between the stream length and the basin area, the correlation coefficient of the logarithmic type function shows the smallest value, linear type function shows the largest value.

  • This study was conducted to estimate the genetic parameters such as combining ability, heritabilities and correlation coefficients forsome agronomic characters by 6$\times$6 dialled crosses of barley. The results obtained were summarized as follows. Mean squares of general combining ability(GCA) and specific combining ability(SCA) were significant for all characters observed. Mean squares of general combining ability for all characters were expressed as higher values than those of specific combining ability. Jecheon #5 showed the high general combining ability effects for culm length, and Waegwanpimack #1 showed the highest general combining ability effects for tiller number. Cygne also showed the high general combining ability effects for spike length and 1,000 grains weight. Furthermore, Plumage was expressed with the highest general combining ability effects for spike length and 1,000 grains weight. Furthermore, Plumage was expressed with the highest general combining ability effects for number of grains per spike. In specific combining ability effects, Samdugjeonbug # 45$\times$Plumage showed the high value for culm length, and Suwon #6 $\times$Waegwanpimack #1$\times$ was expressed with the highest specific combining ability effects for tiller number. Jecheon #5$\times$Plumage also showed the high specific combining ability effects for spike length and number of grains per spike. Suwon #6$\times$Cygne showed the high specific combining ability effects for 1,000 grains weight. The heritabilities of spike length an number of grains per spike were over 90%. In correlation coefficients among characters, relationships between culm length and tiller number, culm length and spike length, culm length and 1,000 grains weight, and spike length and 1,000 grains weight showed highly positively correlation.

  • Purpose : We identified correlation between macular thickness and RNFL (retina nerve fiber layer) measured by OCT and axial length in Korean children divided as three groups according to refractive errors. Methods : In total, 134 eyes of 67 Korean children who experienced no eye disease and ophthalmology surgery were involved in this study and then divided as three groups such as hyperopic, emmetropic and myopic groups. Macular thickness and RNFL thickness were measured with Cirrus HD-OCT, and axial length was done with IOL Master.Macular thickness and RNFL thickness were measured by Cirrus HD-OCT, and axial length using IOL Master. Correlation between axial length and retinal thickness in three groups according to refractive errors was investigated. Results : The type of refractive error measured by axial length was myopic, emmetropic and hyperopic groups in order, showing significant difference (p<0.05). The center thickness of macular was myopic, emmetropic and hyperopic groups in order, showing significant difference(p<0.05). The thicknesses of superior, nasal and inferior regions in peripheral macula were the thinnest in myopic group (p<0.05). It was shown that positive correlation was found between the center thickness of macula and axial length (r=0.283, p<0.05), while negative correlation was found between the peripheral thickness of RNFL and axial length. The temporal thickness of RNFL represented the thickest in myopic group, showing positive correlation with axial length(r=0.39, p<0.05). The superior, nasal and inferior thickness of RNFL represented negative correlation with axial length, showing statistically significant in the nasal thickness of RNFL(r=-0.23, p<0.05). Conclusion : Through this study, we identified correlation between macular thickness, the thickness of RNFL and axial length using OCT in Korean children, and also found the differences in three refractive error groups.
