  • An adaptive filter for noise cancellation of ECG Is proposed. An adaptive noise canceller using the least mean squares algorithm Is used to reduce unwanted noise. An adaptive filter for nolse cancella lion minimizes the mean-square error between a primary input and a reference input. A primary input is the noisy ECG, and a reference input is a noise that Is correlated in some way with the noise in the primary input or a signal that is correlated only with ECG in the primary input.

  • An effective approach to detect and diagnose multiple failures in a dynamic system is proposed for the case where the measurement noise is correlated sequentially in time. It is based on the modified interacting multiple-model (MIMM) estimation algorithm in which a generalized decorrelation process is developed by employing the autoregressive (AR) model for the correlated measurement noise. Numerical example for the nuclear steam generator is provided to illustrate the enhanced performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • Bearing diagnostics is difficult in a gearbox because bearing signals are masked by the strong gear signals. Self adaptive noise cancellation(SANC) is useful technique to seperate bearing signals from gear signals. While gear signals are correlated with a long correlation length, bearing signals are not correlated with a short length. SANC seperates two components on the basis of correlation length. Then we can find defect frequency component in the envelope spectrum of the bearing signals.

  • In China, environmental noise policies are composed of correlated laws adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and promulgated by the President of the country, regulations promulgated by the State Council and/or local government, standards issued by the Standardization Administration Committee (SAC) under the State Council. The laws mainly include the 'Environmental Protection Law' and the 'Law on Prevention and Control of Pollution From Environmental Noise' Regulations are often applied to a special noise pollution phenomenon of wide influence. They are generally only effective in a given area and/or a specific period. Tens of correlated standards specify the noise level limits of different functional zones of land use and of different equipment, machines, devices, appliances etc., and the measurement methods. In this presentation, a brief introduction to these policies and their operations is given and discussed. The conclusion is that the policies supply an effective legislative basis for environmental noise prevention and control in China, but still a lot of work should be conducted and completed to strive for a quiet society.

  • In this paper, a dynamic modeling for the velocity and position information of a single frequency stand-alone GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver is described. In static condition, the position error dynamic model is identified as a first/second order transfer function, and the velocity error model is identified as a band-limited Gaussian white noise via non-parametric method of a PSD(Power Spectrum Density) estimation in continuous time domain. A Kalman filter is proposed considering both correlated/white measurements noise based on identified GPS error model. The performance of the proposed Kalman filtering method is verified via numerical simulation.

  • The aim of this study is to estimate the noise exposure of roadside apartment complex according to the characteristics of apartment complex. The facade noise level of residential buildings and the ground noise level inside apartment complexes were predicted and analyzed using noise mapping based on a computerized noise model. In addition, the correlation analysis between these noise levels and the characteristics of apartment complex such as traffic volume, building coverage, the number of adjacent roads, etc. was done in a total of 21 apartment complexes. The results showed that building facade noise level and ground noise level were positively correlated with traffic volume (correlation coefficient, r=0.616~0.623) and the number of adjacent roads (r=0.340~0.496). On the other hand, they were negatively correlated with building coverage (r=-0.413~-0.477) and complex area per the number of roads (r=-0.478~-0.615).

  • Acoustic signals from the vehicle muffler has various kinds of noises. For control of noise from the vehicle muffler, the major part of noise to be contorted is that correlated with the revolution of the vehicle engine. For this reason the most efficient method for noise control is to use the extracted acoustic signals correlated with revolution as a controlled factor. Therebefore in this paper we developed and proofed an algorithm for efficient amplitude detection and phase detection related to the engine operating revolution from the vehicle muffler noise by orthogonality.
