Political connection are widespread in many countries and are a hot topic in economic research right now. In China, companies are actively forming political connections in several ways. Based on the research model and theoretical analysis, this thesis puts forward the research hypothesis and constructs the research model of political connections and corporate performance using the financial data and corporate governance data of China A-share listed real estate companies in 2010-2014. The thesis mainly analyzes the political association of CEO. For the analysis result, this research uses the univariate regression analysis and multivariate analysis to carry out the robustness test. The empirical study analysis includes three parts: firstly, in Chinese listed real estate enterprises, CEO political connection has a significantly negative correlation with corporate performance. It means real estate enterprises whose CEO has political connections gain a lower performance than other enterprises; Secondly, from the personal characteristics of the CEO, age, sex and education level have positive relationship with the performance of the enterprise, the additional post situation negatively related to the firm's performance; Finally, the firm's scale liquidity ratio and capital asset rario have a negative relationship with corporate performance, and the number of top managers is positively related to corporate performance. This research made a study on the political connection in Chinese real estate industry, which could also provide beneficial references for the development of enterprises in this industry.
The purpose of this study is to review the relationship between CEO's transformational leadership and performance, and the mediating effect of corporate entrepreneurship in entrepreneurs' cooperative. In order to verify and achieve the purposes mentioned above, questionnaire data were gathered and analysed from 379 employees of entrepreneurs' cooperative in Kangwon-do province. Empirical survey's findings are as follows; First, charisma and individual consideration appeared to be positively related with risk-taking and proactiveness. Also, intellectual stimulation appeared to be positively related with proactiveness only. Second, charisma and individual consideration appeared to be positively related with sales volume and employment increase, but intellectual stimulation appeared to be positively related with employment increase only. Third, corporate entrepreneurship(risk-taking, proactiveness) appeared to be positively related with sales volume and employment increase. Fourth, corporate entrepreneurship(risk-taking, proactiveness) had mediating effect on the relationship between CEO's transformational leadership and performance. But, intellectual stimulation had not mediating effect.

The objective of this article is to assess the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) implementation on Corporate Brand Value (CBV) and Corporate Financial Performance (CFP). At the same time, the article examines the mediated role of CBV on the relationship between CSR implementation and CFP. In-depth interviews and observation techniques were used in this article on 4 experts to collect qualitative information. Quantitative analysis was based on primary data obtained from 454 employees working at enterprises providing Bancassurance services. The article uses various models of Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Structural Equation Analysis (SEM) using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 20.0 software. In addition, a 5-point Likert scale is used to measure observed variables. Research results show that CBV plays an intermediate role in the relationship between CSR implementation and CFP. At the same time, the implementation of CSR toward communities, customers, and workers directly impacts CBV and CFP. The article draws a new conclusion; there is no relationship found between the implementation of CSR and CFP. The result proposes implications for the state and Bancassurance service providers to develop and implement CSR-related policies and activities to enhance their brand value and financial performance.
This paper explains the concept of Economic Value Added (EVA) that is gaining popularity in India. We also examine whether EVA is a superior performance measure, both for corporate disclosure and for internal governance. Of late, companies in India have started focusing on shareholders wealth creation by adopting value-based models for measuring shareholder value that helps to align managerial decision-making with the firm preferences. In recent years, the EVA framework is gradually replacing the 'traditional' measures of financial performance on account of its robustness and its immunity from 'creative' accounting. Even though some leading Indian companies have already joined the band wagon of their American counterparts in adapting the EVA-based corporate performance systems, many other are hesitating as there is no strong evidence that the EVA system works in India. Till now, EVA disclosures are "not mandatory for the Indian companies." Also, we examine the value-creation strategies of selected Indian companies by analyzing whether EVA better represents the market-value of these companies in comparison to conventional performance measures. The study indicates that "there is no strong evidence to support Stern Stewart's claim that EVA is superior to the traditional performance measures in its association with MVA." As part of this study, we have also extensively surveyed the EVA disclosures in the Annual Reports made by the same sample group of 500 corporations from India.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the corporate responsibility activities and investigate the effects of these activities on financial performance in public institutions. Methods: The collected data using annual performance evaluation for the year 2017-2019 were analyzed using multi-regression analysis. The corporate social responsibility activities for this study were divided into three dimensions such as social value, efficiency, and welfare. Results: The results of this study are as follows; first, public institutions with high evaluation in social value and welfare had a significant positive effect on financial performance factors such as ROA and ROS. Second, we find that there is a significant negative relation between social value activities and debt ratio. This result means that the higher social value activities, the lower debt ratio. It was also found that the activities for enhancing social value made statistically significant positive influence on BIS performance. Conclusion: These results can be interpreted that public institutions trying various social contribution activities does not necessarily bring negative results for financial performance. In conclusion, it means that socially responsible activities and ethical management in the desirable direction can be beneficial to both public institutions and the society to which they belong.

This quantitative study aims to examine the effect of family ownership on company performance empirically. Specifically, this study examines the moderating effect of corporate governance on the relationship between family ownership and company performance which has never been explored in the previous studies. This study's main target population was all listed companies in the Indonesian Capital Market Directory (ICMD) for 2008-2018. The study used criteria, namely data completeness, to measure research variables and obtained 2996 data or firm-year observations. The research contingency model to test the proposed hypothesis was the General Moment Method (GMM). The study presents the results of data descriptions shows the average, median, maximum, minimum, and standard deviation values for each variable. The descriptive data shows that family ownership is common in Indonesia: 64% of 244 companies in the sample. The inferential analysis results using a multiple regression model test show that family ownership significantly reduces company performance. However, corporate governance proxied by the board of directors, managerial risk profile, and independent commissioners significantly moderate the relationship between family ownership and company performance. Besides, the managerial risk profile and independent commissioners strengthened while the board of commissioners' presence weakened the effect of family ownership on performance.

This study seeks to investigate Key Audit Matters (KAMs) reporting of Thai listed companies in Thailand, and examines the influence of KAMs reporting on corporate financial performance. Data were collected from 180 companies listed in Thailand during 2016 to 2018, which accounted to 540 annual reports. KAMs reporting was quantified by content analysis from the audit reports, while financial performance and corporate characteristics were collected from the corporate annual reports. Descriptive analysis and multiple regressions were performed to analyze the data. The study results reveal that there was an increasing of KAMs reporting in audit report of listed companies in Thailand in terms of both number of issues and number of words across the observed period. The regression analysis indicates that was a significant and negative influence of words counted as KAMs reporting on financial performance, while there was no influence of KAMs reporting issue on the performance. Moreover, there was a negative relationship between corporate complexity and financial performance, while audit type had a positive correlation with financial performance. This study shows significant contribution on the implication of KAMs in an emerging economy and the role of KAMs as a communication device between auditor and stakeholders.
Purpose - Previous studies about corporate image generally explore how corporate image affects a company's effectiveness from the consumer view. However this study attempts to explore the impacts of corporate image (reliability, friendly, corporate social responsibility, and innovation) on employees' altruistic behaviors in the franchise industry context. This study also examine whether organizational trust and affective commitment play a mediating role in the relationship between corporate image and employees' altruistic behaviors. The authors developed several hypotheses to achieve these purposes. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were collected from employees in food-service franchise companies located in Seoul, Korea. Among a total of 363 questionnaires distributed, 294(response rate of 81%) questionnaires were returned. After excluding 18 invalid respondent questionnaires, 276 valid questionnaires(response rate of 76%) were coded and analyzed using frequency, confirmatory factor analysis, correlations analysis, and structural equation modeling with SPSS 21 and SmartPLS 3.0. Result - The findings of the study are as follows: First, friendly, CSR, and innovation had positive effects on organizational trust, but reliability did not have a significant effect on organizational trust. Second, reliability and friendly of corporate image had positive effects on affective commitment, but CSR and innovation did have a significant effect on affective commitment. Third, organizational trust and affective commitment had positive effects on employees' altruistic behaviors. Conclusions - The aim of this study is to investigate the franchise corporate image as a significant influencing factor of employees' altruistic behaviors. The data were collected from only employees from franchising companies. The findings might vary from position to position. Future studies need to collect and compare data from managers. Future studies need to consider other variables that affect employees' altruistic behaviors. For example, leadership and market orientation might influence employees' attitude and behaviors. Also, future research should include other variables and it may have limitations in sample representative because of sampling franchise corporate in Seoul. Future studies will include franchise corporate all over the country. Future studies can also consider other variables (e.g., job performance and turnover intentions) to measure employee performance at the level of individuals and identify the impact of employee performance on business performance at the level of corporate.

This research is to analyze the mediating effect of corporate reputation between the organizational slack and corporate performance in venture SMEs. That is, after controlling the firm size, firm age, social capital, environmental uncertainty, we test three hypothesis. First, we test the hypothesis that organizational slack has a positive effect on corporate reputation. Second, we test the hypothesis that corporate reputation has a positive effect on corporate performance. Third, we test the positive mediating role of corporate reputation between organizational slack and corporate performance. For this research, we administered the questionnaire surveys, and got the 250 effective data(companies) of korean venture SMEs. We use SPSS 18.0, and analysis the validity, reliability, correlation and multiple regression analysis of research model. As a result, we can find the three meaningful results. First, organizational slack, especially not absorbed slack but unabsorbed slack, has positive effect on the corporate reputation. Second, corporate reputation has positive effect on corporate performance. Third, corporate reputation has mediating effect between organizational slack, especially not absorbed slack but unabsorbed slack, and corporate performance. Although this research has some limitations of generalization because of the limited size of samples, we has meaning information related to the venture companies in the academic and business field.
Previous studies have examined the relationship between corporate social responsibility and corporate's business performance (especially, consumers' corporate evaluation). According to them, the corporate social responsibility influences the consumers' corporate evaluation. A small and medium sized company as well as a large company is asked to conduct socially responsible actions, however, it is not easy to find a study that focuses on whether the effect of the corporate social responsibility on the consumers' corporate evaluation is different by the size of company. In this paper, we classified the corporate social responsibility into the four dimensions (economic responsibility, legal responsibility, ethical responsibility, philanthropic responsibility), and investigate the differences between a small and medium sized company and a large company in the effects of the four dimensions on the consumers' corporate evaluation. We showed that the each dimension of the corporate social responsibility had an positive effect on the corporate image regardless of the size of company. In addition, we demonstrated that the effects of the four dimensions on the company image were different by the size of company; The legal responsibility and ethical responsibility are more influential to the corporate image of a large company than to that of a small and medium sized company, however, the effects of economic responsibility and philanthropic responsibility are not different by the size of company.
