This study to elucidate concentrations of impurities such as methanol and fusel oil formed during fermentation process among the different materials and has been applied technical seperation for processing improvement by continuous distillation of super-allospas type. Methanol was formed high concentrations of cutting dried sweet potato and tapioca in order among the different materials during fermentation process. n-Propanol oil was formed high concentration of rice, cutting dried sweet potato, corn, naked barley and tapioca in order among the those materials. I-Buthanol showed high concentration of tapioca, corn, rice, cutting dried sweet potato and naked barley in order and isoamyl-alcohol showed high concentration of tapioca, rice, cutting dried sweet potato, corn and naked barley in order. Using the continuous distillation of super-allospas type, the following are collection ratios of n-propanol, iso-butanol, n-butanol and iso-amylalcohol: 37.9%, 28.6%, 37.4%, and 56.1% when 78.25% (v/v), 68.54% (viv), 50.0% (viv), and 50.0% (v/v) alcohol are used, respectively. Fusel oil and bad alcohol put into the recovery column and then seperated directly by side cut of fusel oil partially from plate of tower bottom after concentration again. Extra impurities seperated by fusel oil seperator when 20 % (v/v) alcohol adjusted with water.
To compare the hypolipidemic effects of n6 and n3 PUFA at different fat levels, male Sprague Dawley rats were fed either low fat (LF, 10% Cal) or high fat (HF, 40% Cal) diet which was different only in fatty acid composition for 6 weeks. Dietary fats were beef tallow, corn oil, perilla oil, and fish oil concentrate as a source of saturated fatty acid, n6 linoleic acid(LA). n3 ${\alpha}-linolenic$ acid(LL) and n3 eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)+docosahexaenoic acid(DHA), respectively. VLDL fraction was separated by ultracentrifugation and chemical composition was determined by thin layer chromatography. Plasma cholesterol level was increased by n6 LA but decreased by n3 LL and n3 EPA in LF and HF diets, and the hypocholesterolemic effect of n3 EPA was most significant in HF diet. HDL-Chol level was raised by n6 LA in LF and HF diets, but significantly reduced by n3 EPA in HF. Plasma TG level was reduced by n6 LA n3 LL and EPA in LF and HF with the reduction of lipogenic enzyme activity only by n3 PUFAs. The proportion of TG in VLDL fraction was significantly lowered by n3 EPA in LF and HF. The proportion of apo-B in VLDL fraction was not changed in LF, but was significantly decreased in HF by n3 EPA. Therefore, the hypotriglyceridemic effect of n3 PUFA could be from the reduced lipogenesis in liver and resulted in the depressed secretion of TG as VLDL in LF and HF with significant lower production of apoB in HF diet.
Effect of DHA-rich fish oil on brain development and learning ability has been studied in Sprague Dawley rats. Female rats were fed experimental diets containing either corn oil fish oil at 10%(w/w) level throughout the gestation and lactation. Corn oil was added in fish oil diet to supply essential fatty acid at 2.3% of the calories. All male pups were weaned to the same diets of dams at 21-days after birth. Plasma fatty acid composition was analyzed for dams and pups at 21-days, 28-days and 22-weeks after birth. The analysis of DNA and fatty acid profile in the brain were undertaken at birth, 3, 7, 14, 21, 28 days and 22 weeks after birth and learning ability was tested at 18-20 weeks of age. Regardless of dietary fats, arachidonic acid(AA) and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA) were the principal polyunsaturated fatty acids in the brain. Rats fed CO diet showed a continouus increase of AA content in the brain from 10.9%(at birth) to maximum 15.3% level (14-days old), while the rars fed FO diet showed 78-79% of CO group throughout the period. Rats fed FO diet showed higher incorparation of DHA from 15.2% at birth to a maximum level of 18.5% at 140days, while the rats fed CO diet showed only 7.0% incorporation of DHA at birth and a maximum level of 11.1% at 21-days. Compared to CO group, FO group showed lower ratio of chol/PL and higher content of DHA in brain microsomal membrane, resulting in better membrane fluidity. Total amount of DNA per gram of brain was reached maximum level at 21 days in both groups. This would be a period of the cell proliferation during brain development. Overall, the rats fed fish oil diet showed a higher incorporation of DHA and membrane fluidity in the brain and better learning performances (p<0.05).

Pakistan depends heavily on imports for its fuel requirements. In this experiment, catalytic pyrolysis of a blend of feedstock's consisting of date seed, wheat straw, and corn cob was conducted in a fixed bed reactor to produce oil that can be used as an alternative fuel. The main focus was to emphasize the outcome of important variables on the produced oil. The effects of operating conditions on the yield of bio-oil were studied by changing temperature (350-500 ℃), heating rate (10, 15, 20 ℃/min), and particle size (1, 2, 3 mm). Moreover, ZnO was used as a catalyst in the process. First, the thermal degradation of the feedstock was investigated by TGA and DTG analysis at 10 ℃/min of different particle sizes of 1, 2, and 3mm from a temperature range of 0 to 1000 ℃. The optimum temperature was found to be 450 ℃ for maximum degradation, and the oil yield was indicated to be around 37%. It was deduced from the experiment that the maximum production of bio-oil was 32.21% at a temperature of 450 ℃, a particle size of 1mm, and a heating rate of 15 ℃/min. When using the catalyst under the same operating conditions, the bio-oil production increased to 41.05%. The heating value of the produced oil was 22 MJ/kg compared to low-quality biodiesel oil, which could be used as a fuel.

Effects of green tea seed oil intake on the serum cholesterol, the thiobarbituric reactive substances (TBARS) formation of liver and inflammatory markers of plasma and macrophage in cholesterol fed mice were investigated, comparing to the intakes of corn oil and olive oil. C57BL/6 mice were divided into three groups and fed the experimental diets: supplemented corn oil, green tea seed oil and olive oil to cholesterol diet, respectively, at the level of 10% for 9 weeks. The increased levels of serum cholesterol of green tea seed oil group were significantly (p<0.05) lower than that of corn oil group until 6 weeks. The TBARS formation in liver of green tea seed oil and olive oil groups were significantly (p<0.05) reduced than those of corn oil group. The contents of inflammatory markers ($LTB4,\;TNF-{\alpha},\;PGE2,\;NO$) in plasma and macrophage did not show significant differences among the experimental groups. These results showed that green tea seed oil could exert the activity of decreasing serum cholesterol and the antioxidative activity in cholesterol fed mice liver. Therefore, we suggest that green tea seed oil might be developed as a high quality edible oil.

This study was designed to examine the effects of n-6 PUFA rich corn oil, n-3 PUFA rich perilla oil and their conjugated double bond derivatives on serum lipids status in rats. Experimental diets containing lard (control), corn oil (CO), perilla oil (PO), conjugated double bond derivatives of n-6 PUFA rich corn oil (TCO) and n-3 PUFA rich perilla oil (TPO) at the level of 10% (w/w) were fed to male Sprague Dawley rats for 4 weeks. TCO was found to have three derivatives of linoleic acid and TPO had five derivatives of linolenic acid by GC. Serum total cholesterol levels were significantly lower in the all experimental groups than in the control group, and particularly, the lowest in TCO and TPO groups. HDL-cholesterol concentrations were a little higher in the all experimental groups than in the control group, and TCO and TPO groups were not significantly different from CO and PO groups. Serum LDL, LDL-cholesterol, chylomicron and triglyceride concentrations were significantly lower in the all experimental groups than in the control group, remarkably lower in TCO group and particularly, the lowest in the TPO group. Serum free cholesterol and cholesteryl ester concentrations were lower in TCO and TPO groups than in CO and PO groups. From the above research, TCO and TPO groups were effective on the improvement of the lipid compositions in serum and particularly, TPO group was the most effective on the improvement of serum lipids.

This study was designed to observe the effects of the fish oil and some seed oils on the improvement of the lipid composition in rats. In order to induce the triglyceridemia in the rats of the Sprague-Dawley, 12% coconut oil and 3% each of olive oil, lard, fish oil, perilla oil, corn oil, red pepper seed oil and evening primrose oil were administered to the rats for tweets. Total cholesterol concentrations of serum were lower in the fish oil, perilla oil and corn oil groups and by for higher in the red pepper seed oil and evening primrose oil groups than in the olive oil group(control group). HDL-cholesterol concentrations were a little higher in the red pepper oil and evening primrose oil groups. In the ratio of HDL-cholesterol concentrations to total cholesterol concentrations, all groups were higher percentage than the control group. Cholesteryl ester concentrations of serum were high in n-6 PUFA rich red pepper seed oil and evening primrose oil group. In the ratio of cholesteryl ester concentrations to total cholesterol, all groups(70.0~74.4%)were higher than the control group(62%). Phospholipid concentrations of serum were low in the fish oil and perilla oil groups and triglyceride concentrations were remarkably lower in the fish oil and evening primrose oil groups than in the control group. LCAT activities of serum were higher in the lard group than in the control group, but lower in the other groups.
A study was conducted to investigate the effects of deodorizing temperature on physicochemical characteristics, fatty acid and triglyceride (TG) composition, and to estabilish the optimal deodorizing conditions in corn oil. Acid value (AV) of $240^{\circ}C$ treating group was showed 0.065 as the lowest level, the AV range was $0.08{\sim}0.09$ at $250{\sim}270^{\circ}C$. Lovibond total color was 24 as the lowest level, peroxide values (POV) were zero at $240{\sim}270^{\circ}C$ range. But POV was showed 0.42 meg/kg oil at $235^{\circ}C$, according to the optimal deodorizing temperature for the complete removal of peroxides was required more than $240^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, inclose of deodorizing temperature was conducted to the increase of saturated fatty acid content as myristic, palmitic, stearic and arachidic acid etc. Change of TG composition at treated group more than $250^{\circ}C$ was reliable, $S_3$ type TG was appeared. As a result, high temperature deodorizing was induced the undesirable influence at the physicochemical properties in deodorized corn oil.
This study was designed to find out the effects of $\omega$-3 and $\omega$-6 polyunsaturated and saturated fatty acid from prenatal to growing period on the brain growth and behavioral development of rats. Rats(Sprague-Dawley strain) were fed experimental diets-fish oil, corn oil or beef tallow-with different contents of $\omega$-3 and $\omega$-6 fatty acids throughout the prenatal and lactational period and up to 10 weeks of age. DNA and RNA concentration of rat brain were determined at 0, 3, 6 weeks of age and choline and acetylcholine concentrations were analyzed at 10 weeks of age. When the rats were 7 weeks of age, position reversional test in a Y-shaped water maze for 4 weeks was measured. The experimental results obtained are summarized as follows. Food intakes were significantly lower in fish oil group and body weight gain was low in the group fed beef tallow and the groups fed fish oil and corn oil were somewhat good. Food efficiency ratio was not significantly different among the groups. Brain weight was not affected by the fatty acid composition of experimental diets and DNA and RNA concentration of the rat brain were consistently maintained at the same level. It was not different significantly among the dietary groups in the DNA and RNA concentrations of the rat brain during the experimental period. The acetylcholine concentration in the fish oil group was somewhat higher than the other groups. The position reversional test in a Y-shaped water maze showed a significant difference the score of test among the experimental groups. The score of the rats fed the fish oil diet was significantly higher than the other groups and the concentration of acetylcholine in brain were too. Therefore the correlatin between the Y-shaped water maze test score and the acetylcholine concentratin in the brain was found. Above finding support the content that dietary fatty acid composition does not affect to the brain cell number and cell size but the behavior development is influenced. Therefore, the improvement of behavior development is required the effective usage of finny tribe.
This study was designed to observe the effect of dietary fiber and fat on colon tumor incidence and cell proliferation. Male Sqraue Dawley rats(n=225) at 7 weeks of age, were divided into 3 groups depending on the type of fat b(beef tallow, corn oil and DHA-rich fish oil) and each group was again divided into 3 groups depending on type of fiber(fiber-free, perctin and cellulose) . The experimental diet containing dietary fat at 15%(w/w) and fiber at 6%(w/w) levels was fed for 25 weeks. At the same time, each rats was intramuscularly injected with DMH two times a week for 6 weeks to geive total dose of 180mg/kg body weight. Cell proliferation was measured by in vivo incroporation of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) into DNA. Fish oil decreased the tumor incidence (9.67%) compared with beef talow (33.39%) and corn oil (21.21%). Tumor incidence was decreased in all groups that fed cellulose (11.67%) compared with those of fiber-free(21.74%) and pectic(19.70%). Most of tumors was distributed at the site of the distal colon. The rats fed both fish oil and cellulose significantly decreased th enumber of tumors and tumor incidence compared to other groups. Fish oil was more effective in preventing cell prolofieration by decreasing crypt length and labeling index(LI) compared with beef tallow(p<0.05). Cell proliferation in distal colon was more developed to the upper part of the crypt compared to proximal colon. Overall tumor incidence and cell proliferation were more affected by dietary fat. But the effect of dietary fiber was different depending on type of fat in the experimental diet. These results suggest that a DHA -rich fish oil may has more decisive effect in inhibiting the cell proliferation in colon.
