The European nuclear design requirements, which should be satisfied by nuclear reactors in Europe, usually recommend a so-called core catcher, which is a molten core ex-vessel cooling facility, to manage a severe accident at a nuclear reactor. Two different types of core catcher concepts are compared to determine their abilities to manage severe accidents and cool core melts. The study reveals that direct cooling is better for cooling capacity and is convenient to construct, while indirect cooing is better for the management of a severe accident.
The relationship between film and culture is established through a shared focus on people's lives. Culture changes at different times, which makes a dynamic and complex relationship between film and culture. Understanding this relationship helps to provide better support for current filmmaking. The purpose of this study is to provide insights into the macro issue of film and culture by exploring the relationship between film theme and culture concept. To this end, we used a case study to explore the connection between themes and culture concepts in Disney's Mulan (1998, 2020) through literature and analyses of culture concepts (Chinese "imagery" and Postmodernism). The study concludes that, "Culture assemblage" and "Vision is king" have become cultural trends that influence the creation of film theme and style to a certain extent; how to balance the relationship between the core idea of film theme and the external forms is an important issue in current filmmaking. The article contributes to promote thinking about culture in film creation, and its research perspective on different cultures and histories is innovative.

In this study, We made Computing Stories as a part of the new method of SW education. Also, we have developed unplugged activities using coding stories. We analyzed changes in learning motivation and academic achievement in the core concepts of CT by applying classes to elementary school students. For the development of coding stories, we conducted a questionnaire analysis of 11 expert groups to derive the core concepts of computational Thinking. Using the core concept of Computational Thinking, we developed a coding stories and unplugged activities linked with coding stories. It was confirmed that the score of the core concept of CT before and after class increased from 54.44 to 83.10 and the learning motive was also improved from the average score of 103.48 to 110.44. The results showed that the Coding Stories were effective in the students' Computational thinking achievement and SW learning motives.
In this paper, we propose the Centroid-based Backbone Core Tree(CBCT) generation algorithm for the shared tree-based IP multicasting. The proposed algorithm is based on the Core Based Tree(CBT) protocol. Despite the advantages over the source-based trees in terms of scalability, the CBT protocol still has the following limitations; first, the optimal core router selection is very difficult, and second, the multicast traffic is concentrated near a core router. The Backbone Core Tree(BCT) protocol, as an extension of the CBT protocol has been proposed to overcome these limitations of the CBT Instead of selecting a specific core router for each multicast group, the BCT protocol forms a backbone network of candidate core routers which cooperate with one another to make multicast trees. However, the BCT protocol has not mentioned the way of selecting candidate core routers and how to connect them. The proposed CBCT generation algorithm employs the concepts of the minimum spanning tree and the centroid. For the performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm, we showed the performance comparison results for both of the CBT and CBCT protocols.
Outsourcing is procuring of outside resources, other than core resources for core competence, by a contract, from which a corporate can focus its core resources on core business. The outsourcing strategies of Korea tourist hotel business are in a rudimentary stage, which has been limited in simple work areas such as housekeeping services, room maid services, parking control services, security services, janitor services, laundry services, facility management, shuttle bus services, and sterilization services and their purposes are mainly to retrench a burden of employment or firm-fixed expenses. Therefore, the outsourcing strategies of Korea tourist hotel business have the following problems. First, their outsourcing has introduced only for the purpose of retrenching expenses. Second, it tends to deteriorate service quality, due to lack of pre-training. Third, it tends to concentrate their attentions only on simple repetition works. Fourth, their outsourcing is slow adjusted to the needs of business cultures. Outsourcing services in Korea tourist hotel business have never contributed to their basic concepts such as 1) maintenance or enhancement of core competences, 2) promotion of business efficiency through service quality improvement and expense retrenchment, and 3) achievement or enhancement of competitive advantage through enlarging their specialties, cultivating their market, learning new knowledge, and developing their asset. Therefore, this study is to insist on fife necessity of overcoming simple repetitive service outsourcing in tourist hotel business. In order to build a core competence and/or achieve a competitive advantage, the scopes of outsourcing services should be enlarged in Korea tourist hotel business.
Recent investigations have demonstrated extensive reciprocal interactions between the immune and skeletal systems, resulting in the establishment of osteoimmunology as a cross-disciplinary field. Here we highlight core concepts and recent advances in this emerging area of study.
Purpose - The current distribution enterprises have realized the necessity for integrated and specialized images in their stores. From those reasons, visual merchandising has been considered as a powerful means towards brand value judgement as well as maximizing both brand and corporate identity. This research intends to study and discuss the current situations in Korean visual merchandising and its future concept setting. Based on the research findings, this paper tries to propose the basic concept for development strategies of visual merchandising in Korean distribution market. Although the studies on visual merchandising in Korean traditional markets have been continued, visual merchandisers have been distorted by display control centers in real situations. Therefore, this study tries to set both current and future concepts in visual merchandising for further discussions and a new complement formulation. Research design, data, and methodology - This study has investigated previous studies with the way of normative study by comparing, organizing concepts and relating terms on visual merchandising. In order to be an exact research, it seems to be more appropriate to analyze this study with a deductive analysis way rather than inductive as for getting the core of visual merchandising. Besides, this study changed the term 'visual merchandising' into 'VMD', and used it as an unified one. Results - Visual merchandising has an important key in retail planning. With focusing on organizing visual merchandising concepts, it should be adequate for domestic circumstances because there are various visual merchandising concepts with different perspectives. Thus, it is necessary to establish a concept including modern and Korean features through previous studies and data. Visual merchandising can be defined as followings. It enhances the value of shop images from visual aspects and conveys brand concepts effectively. Its task is to plan and manage products sales by combining three merchandising domains such as interior, display, and merchandising. Conclusions - There are some limitations on setting academic concepts in visual merchandising due to its features as to be taken in the field focused studies. More meaningful case studies should be performed as an area of future studies. Therefore, it is necessary to perform an effectiveness analysis on empirical visual merchandising state and present the course of development.
Background: Traditional safety concept, which is called Safety-I, and its relevant methods and models have much contributed toward enhancing the safety of industrial systems. However, they have proved insufficient to be applied to complex socio-technical systems. As an alternative, Safety-II and resilience engineering have emerged and gained much attention for the last two decades. However, it seems that safety professionals have still difficulty understanding their fundamental concepts and methods. Accordingly, it is necessary to offer an introductory guide to them that helps safety professionals grasp them correctly in consideration of their current practices. Methods: This article firstly explains the limitations of Safety-I and how Safety-II can resolve them from the four points of view. Next, the core concepts of resilience engineering and Functional Resonance Analysis Method are described. Results: Workers' performance adjustment and performance variability due to it should be the basis for understanding human-related accidents in socio-technical systems. It should be acknowledged that successful and failed work performance have the same causes. However, they are not well considered in the traditional safety concept; in contrast, Safety-II and resilience engineering have conceptual bases and practical approaches to reflect them systematically. Conclusion: It is necessary to move from a find-and-fix and reactive approach to a proactive approach to safety management. Safety-II and resilience engineering give a set of useful concepts and methods for proactive safety management. However, if necessary, Safety-I methods need to be properly used for situations where they can still be useful as well.
The purpose of this study was to investigate beginning science teachers' perceptions of inquiry-based science instruction using open-ended questionnaire and semi-structured interview. Participants of this study voluntarily set up a goal of inquiry-based science instruction, planned inquiry-based science lessons, and shared and reflected their teaching experiences in their professional learning community for more than a year. Participant teachers recognized students' construction of core scientific concepts through performing scientific inquiry as a goal of science inquiry instruction. Participant teachers indicated that goals of science education such as 'learning scientific core concepts', 'improving students' interest of science', 'improving scientific thinking', and 'understanding the nature of science' can be achieved through students' active engagement in scientific inquiry. Participant teachers recognized not only the importance of teachers' role, but also what roles science teachers should play in order to enable students to perform scientific inquiry. Participant teachers emphasized teachers' roles such as 'identifying core concepts', 'reorganizing science curriculum', 'considering student ability', 'asking questions and providing feedbacks to students', 'explaining scientific concepts', and 'leading students' argumentation.'
With the science curriculum about to be revised in 2022, this study aimed to guide curriculum revision by addressing suggested approaches to the electromagnetism education in elementary school science curriculum. The core concepts of electromagnetism are "electric field" and "magnetic field" as a medium of force, but the current curriculum does not properly describe the core concepts of electromagnetism. Mechanics and electromagnetism should be linked in elementary schools to form science curriculum based on core concepts to solve this problem. Additionally, the nine aspects of technology extracted in this study offer various educational contexts to match the development of engineering technology based on electromagnetism. However, the current curriculum does not comprise these various contexts and focuses on the limited content of electric circuits using light bulbs. Therefore, it is necessary to expand the scope of the curriculum to better mirror real-life technology. Through the use of more diverse materials and contexts, the scope and level of STS education as well as conceptual learning could be expanded. Finally, in the case of electric circuit learning, various issues such as difficulty in connecting electric circuits and electric field concepts, representativeness of electric circuit, students' learning difficulty, and phenomena-oriented learning should be considered.
