  • Two brackish cyclopoid species are reported mostly from the estuaries and salt marshes in the southern coast of Korea: Limnoithona sinensis (Burckhardt, 1913) and Apocyclops borneoensis Lindberg, 1954. The two species as well as the genera are newly added to Korean fauna. Herein, the redescription is provided with the systematic accounts and detailed illustrations of them.

  • A new species of Nitokra and Ameira parvula (Claus) belonging to the family Ameiridae are recorded from brackish waters in South Korea. Nitokra koreanus n. sp. most resembles N. spinipes and N. pietschmanni, however, it is characteristic in having the character combination of ellipsoidal P5 exopod and very short P1 enp 1. Ameira parvula is reported for the first time from the Northwestern Pacific. Description of the new species and the taxonomic accounts of both species are presented.

  • Two subterranean harpacticoid species are recorded from cavern and interstitial waters in South Korea: Parastenocaris ondali n. sp. and P brevipes Kessler, 1913. Parastenocaris ondali n. sp. resembles P nipponensis Chappuis, 1955 from Japan, but differs from it by shorter caudal rami, armature of leg 5, and short endopodal processes of leg 4 in both sexes. Herein, the new species is described, and systematic accounts of both species are provided with detailed illustrations.

  • Three aetideid copepods collected from the East Sea of Korea are described: Bradyidius angustus (Tanaka, 1957), Gaetanus minutus (Sars, 1907), and Aetideus acutus Farran, 1929. The former two species are new to the Korean copepod fauna. The sequences of cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 were determined to be the molecular characteristics of these three species.

  • A few studies have examined the hatching response of copepod diapause eggs to various factors (Ban and Minoda, 1991; Chen and Marcus, 1997). Marcus (1979) monitored the hatching of diapause eggs of Labidocera aestiva and suggested that diapause eggs of marine copepods undergo a refractory phase similar to other diapausing organisms. • Four harpacticoid species belonging to genus Attheyella were confirmed from South Korea: Attheyella (Attheyella) coream Miura, A. (A.) paucisetosa Chang and Kim, A. (Mrazekiella) byblis Chang and Kin, and A. (M.) tetraspinosa, n. sp. The new species and the male of A. (A.) paucisetosa are described. A. (M.) tetraspinosa, n. sp. most resembles A. baikalensis Borutzky, but readily distinguished from it and its relatives by the extraordinarily elongated leg 5 exopod and the female leg 5 basipod bearing four spines on it.
