  • In this paper, a plate type ozonizer has been designed and manufactured to minimize the size of ozonizer. This ozonizer have following benefits: convenience of shift and installation maximize space utility. Therefore, ozone generation characteristics have been investigated by varying flow rate, supplied power and gap spacing of plate electrodes.

Purchasing Behaviors and Needs for HMR according to the Food-Related Lifestyles of Baby Boomer Women (베이비부머 여성들의 식생활 라이프 스타일에 따른 HMR 구매행동 및 요구도)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the food-related lifestyle choices of female baby boomers and to investigate variables regarding home meal replacement (HMR) buying behaviors and future needs. This study was conducted on 358 female baby boomers 53 years of age living in Gyeonggi and near Seoul. Out of 420 distributed questionnaires, 358 were returned and used for analysis (response rate: 85.2%). As a result of cluster analysis, three groups were identified based on the food-related lifestyles : a value-seeking group, a convenience-seeking group, and a health-seeking group. Among the three groups, there were significant differences in two socio-demographic characteristics, education level (p<0.05) and regular exercise (p<0.01), and in several health- and food-related habits, type of breakfast (p<0.01), type of dinner (p<0.05), dinner details (p<0.05), frequency of eating out (p<0.05), and eating habits score (p<0.01). The health-seeking group was significantly more likely to purchase ready to cook (RTC) items (59.1%) than were the other groups (p<0.001). However, the ratio of HMR purchasing for the purpose of meal replacement (p<0.05) and an HMR purchasing frequency of more than twice a week (p<0.001) were significantly lower in the health-seeking group. Reasons for selecting HMR showed a similar tendency among groups in taste (26.2%), convenience (18.7%), price (16.9%), safety (15.3%) and type of food (14.3%). However, the satisfaction scores for hygiene and safety reported by the health-seeking group were significantly lower than those reported by the other groups. More than two-thirds of all respondents were willing to purchase HMR in the future, though there were significant differences according to group: convenience-seeking group, 73.1%, health-seeking group, 70.1%, and value-seeking group, 65.7% (p<0.05). Our results suggest that the number of baby boomers purchasing HMR products will continue to grow and baby boomers will want HMR products to be more healthy (52.0%), safe (28.5%) and delicious (13.4%). An emphasis on taste was high in the convenience-seeking group, whereas an emphasis on health was high in the health-seeking and value-seeking groups. In conclusion, this study shows various food-related lifestyles amongst female baby boomers and illustrates the need to develop HMR marketing strategies targeted to these different lifestyles.

  • The saloon light is the device that can offer convenience and comfort to the driver and passenger when the train is operated at night or in the tunnel. Generally, The fluorescent type saloon for the rolling stock have been used, but the problems that are short life and the generation of heat have been brought about because the saloon lihgts of rolling stock are supposed to operated continuously long time, and high power consumption. So, the development of new type of saloon lights has been requested in order to solve these problems. And recently the various LED type lights have been developed and LED type saloon lights for rolling stock also has been developed. Therefore, we survey the characteristic, function and needed condition of the LED type saloon lights for rolling stock, and analyze the good and bad point, and then research the complement of weak point. We want to find the direction and develop the design of future LED saloon light type.

The Analysis of Home Management by the Life Style Types among Housewives (생활양식유형에 따른 가정관리행동의 분석 -서울지역 아파트 거주 주부를 중심으로-)

  • This study aimed at providing basis data to understand homemanagement by patterning of the life styles of housewives and by analysing the disposition of homemanagement behavior and characterstics of the behavior pattern to the difference of the life style patterns of housewives. The result can be summarized as follows: 1. By utilizing factor analysis and cluster analysis, the life style types of housewives were classified into 4 types, namely, self-fulness type (28.4%), negative stagnation type (22.7%), fashion-convenience type (23.3%), innovation-urging type (25.6%). 2. The life style types of housewives which were classified, differed significantly according to all of the demographic variables except family size variable. 3. The disposition of homemanagement behavior which were classified into inner-directed type and other-directed type, differed significantly according to the husband's age variable. 4. The patterns of homemanagement behavior which were classified into market pattern and service pattern, differed significantly according to the all of the demographic variables. 5. The disposition and the pattern of homemanagement behavior differed significantly according to the life style types of housewives.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the apartment Choice and Housing Satisfaction by the Housing Value Segmentation. Survey questionnaires were conducted on 1103 married women from three residential areas in Daegu. Data were analized by SPSS package program. Major findings are the following: Quality oriented type preferred environment oriented and multiple apartment. Safety investment type answered the bases of the information as of sales/model house, real estate office, oral information from relative neighbor. Ostentation negative type is dissatisfied for the present apartment were listed such as inconvenient inner structure and inner space, education environment for children, privacy protection, convenient transportation for the urban area. Convenience educational environment type is dissatisfied for the present apartment were listed such as inconvenient inner structure and inner space, anti sonic materials, education environment for children, privacy protection.

Analysis on the Effect of Dietary Lifestyle on Consumption Pattern of Soybean Paste among Housewives (주부들의 식생활 라이프스타일이 된장 소비 행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the dietary lifestyle among housewives and found out the effect of dietary lifestyle on consumption pattern of soybean paste. Data were collected from 312 housewives living in Gyeongnam region through a self-administered questionnaire. According to the result of the factor analysis, dietary lifestyle were categorized into five factors: health-seeking type, convenience-seeking type, safety-seeking type, popularity-seeking type, and taste-seeking type. About thirty-five percent of the respondents knew the way how to prepare soybean paste while nineteen percent did not. There were significant differences in awareness regarding how to prepare soybean paste according to healthy-seeking lifestyle, convenience-seeking lifestyle, safety-seeking lifestyle, and popularity-seeking lifestyle. Thirty-seven percent of the respondents obtained soybean paste from family or relatives, whereas twenty-six percent made it at home. The result of the multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that the factors affecting the ways of obtaining soybean paste were age, monthly household income, employment status, coresidence with parent(s), husband's parent(s), or older relative(s), dwelling types, healthy-seeking lifestyle, convenience-seeking lifestyle and safety-seeking lifestyle.

  • Current changing to the customer-oriented market naturally causes suppliers to meet an age of competition on the quality. In order to plan housing meeting this quality competitiveness era, I set up the type classification system of quality differentiation for the unit of apartment housing by executing differentiation cases of unit quality and type analysis of the object. The system is consist of 3 classification systems by quality element, user convenience element and product element as follows: First element is to classify quality element on the basis of plane and interior elements, architectural elements and second one is user convenience element relating facility to classify environment-oriented, safety, energy saving and convenience. The other one is the product element to classify furniture, installing product and convenient product. I believe that this classification system will be useful to determine any classification elements of product for product positioning and product planning in the stage of marketing planning of apartment housing in the future.

  • Over-the-counter pharmaceuticals sold in convenience stores are accurate and easy to understand on its containers, packaging, or attached materials for the prevention of drug misuse. The limited space of the packaging, however, makes the information difficult to read and consequently, consumers have had difficulty in purchasing the products. This research conducted an analysis of 8 packages of pill-type drugs and conducted a survey and interviews targeting 10 foreigners and 20 Korean consumers to analyze the user consciousness. The findings of this study showed that fever remedies are the most frequently bought drug. And consumers first looked for the information of the drugs in the following order: the effects, dosage, and warnings. While domestic consumers had little difficulty in comprehending the information, more than 40% of the foreigners who were studies failed to comprehend it, which was because the package was entirely written in Korean. This study presented some ideas for improving the design by using English and foreign expressions and pictograms, consumers can easily and quickly understand, and by placing the information on the symptoms, dosage and age information so that the type of drugs will be easily discernible.

A Study on the Satisfaction of Working Uniform on Nuclear Power Plant (원자력 발전소 작업복의 착용만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the satisfaction of working uniform in Nuclear Power Plant and to suggest the improvement of dissatisfaction. 150 workers in control area of Nuclear Power Plant were participated in survey and 30 questionnaires were asked and subjective description was allowed. 65%/35% Poly/Rayon coverall type working uniform was investigated for this survey which had been wearing usually and basically in control area in Nuclear Power Plant. According to the results, respondents were most highly dissatisfied with the wearing convenience aspect of current coverall among any other aspects, like textile and management. In wearing convenience aspects, wrist and ankle opening band system, the design, number and placement of pocket, waist belt design, the width of sleeve and pants, and ADR opening system were dissatisfied and requested for improvement. In textiles aspects, weight, protection from radiation materials, prevention from static electricity, moisture absorption, ventilation and flexibility/elasticity were dissatisfied and requested for improvement. In management aspect, washing uniform and size variation were dissatisfied and requested for improvement. Therefore, for more comfortable human interfaced working uniform, wearing convenience system as well as textile and management system must be compensated and should be newly developed for improving worker comfort, mobility, and productivity.
