  • Closed loop stability of Extended Dynamic Matrix Control (EDMC) is investigated for limited sampling time. Linear approximation of the sensitivity functions is employed in the derivation of the stability condition. It is shown that the closed loop system will be stable if the control moves suppression coefficient ${\lambda}$ is taken arbitrarily large. Special cases such as M=P=1 and M=1, P>1 are discussed in more details.

  • This paper proposes an enhanced distributed generation (DG) unit with an adaptive virtual impedance control approachin order to address the inaccurate reactive power sharing problems. The proposed method can adaptively regulate the DG unit thanks to the equivalent impedance, andthe effect of the mismatch in feeder impedance is compensatedto share the reactive power accurately.The proposed control strategy can be implemented directly without any requirement of pre-knowledge of the feeder impedances. Simulations are performed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.

  • An adaptive model predictive control (AMPC) strategy using auto-regression moving-average (ARMA) models is presented. The characteristic features of this methodology are the small computer memory requirement, high computational speed, robustness, and easy handling of nonlinear and time varying MIMO systems. Since the process dynamic behaviors are expressed by ARMA models, the model parameter adaptation is simple and fast to converge. The recursive least square (RLS) method with exponential forgetting is used to trace the process model parameters assuming the process is slowly time varying. The control performance of the AMPC is verified by both comparative simulation and experimental studies on distillation column control.

But as various devices and protocols are developed for Vehicle communication and control, it becomes difficult to manage the systems that contain limitation of bandwidth and various control requirement. To solve these problems, we introduce a research of automotive embedded systems which is considered the automotive real time operating system, automotive communications, and control systems.

  • In 2000 FFIA , FIA, RDC are united into new corporation. This corporation will manage rural water with TM/TC(Tele-Monitoring/Tele-Control) system. Most systems which were adopted in TM/TC system were Closed Control System which use exclusive network and protocol . Closed Control System can not support new corporation's requirement in water management system. Therefore, new corporation should adopt Open Control System as standard rural water management system. Open Control System support Fieldbus technology, TCP/IP various protocols, programming model, OPC which is essential to the water management program, and so on.

  • Experiments were conducted to determine potassium (K) requirement of mule ducklings. One-day-old ducklings with equal number of both sexes were fed diets containing graded levels of K for three weeks. In experiment 1, corn-soybean meal diet (CP 18.7%, ME 2,890 kcal/kg, K 0.80%) was used. The addition of K (0.00, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40%) to the diet by potassium carbonate resulted in a decrease in weight gain and feed efficiency with the group fed on basal diet having the best performance. This means that the existing K in the basal diet is adequate for the growth of ducklings. In experiment 2, low K corn-isolated soy protein diet (K, 0.19%) was used. The supplementation of K (0.00, 0.16, 0.32, 0.48, 0.64%) resulted in an increase in weight gain and feed efficiency with the control group having the lowest performance. The minimum K requirement was found to be 0.49% for both maximum growth and best feed efficiency as determined by using bent-stick model.

  • This study aims to improve methodology for a Defense Simulation which is to calculate wartime stockpile requirement of artillery munitions for K-9 against armored vehicles. Due to incorrect data input and distortion in simulation logic, the expected occupancy ratio for each weapon system obtained from applying a traditional method using an analytical Defense Simulation shows considerable discrepancies from what we expect from a war in the future. This study analyzes causes for incorrect data input and phenomena of distortion in simulation logic. By taking measures to control these phenomena, the study aims to present trustworthy methodology for a Hybrid Defense Simulation which is to calculate wartime stockpile requirement of munitions for ground forces by interaction between a controlled training Defense Simulation model and a analytical Defense Simulation model

Minimize Order Picking Time through Relocation of Products in Warehouse Based on Reinforcement Learning (물품 출고 시간 최소화를 위한 강화학습 기반 적재창고 내 물품 재배치)

  • In order to minimize the picking time when the products are released from the warehouse, they should be located close to the exit when the products are released. Currently, the warehouse determines the loading location based on the order of the requirement of products, that is, the frequency of arrival and departure. Items with lower requirement ranks are loaded away from the exit, and items with higher requirement ranks are loaded closer from the exit. This is a case in which the delivery time is faster than the products located near the exit, even if the products are loaded far from the exit due to the low requirement ranking. In this case, there is a problem in that the transit time increases when the product is released. In order to solve the problem, we use the idle time of the stocker in the warehouse to rearrange the products according to the order of delivery time. Temporal difference learning method using Q_learning control, which is one of reinforcement learning types, was used when relocating items. The results of rearranging the products using the reinforcement learning method were compared and analyzed with the results of the existing method.

A Study on Function Discrimination for EMG Signals Using Neural Network and Fuzzy Filter (신경회로망과 퍼지필터를 사용한 근전도신호의 기능변별에 관한 연구)

  • The most important requirement for the controller of a prosthetic arm is that it has a high fidelity discriminator where the motion control may be performed open loop using EMG signals as a control source. Therefore, it is very effective method to reduce the influence of misclassification of classifier for the total system performance. This paper presents the new function discrimination method which combines MLP classifier and frizzy filter by stages for the requirement. The major advantage of MLP is a consistent learning capability for the easy adaptation to environments. The fuzzy filter uses all informations of MLP outputs and prior EMG activity informations which increase as the experience increases. That property is superior to one which uses maximum output of MLP in view of information amounts and quality. Simulation result shows that proposed method is superior to the probabilistic model, MLP model and the combined model of both in the respect of discrimination quaity.

Geochemical Characteristics of Mine Wastes in Abandoned Mines in Korea (휴/폐광 광산폐기물의 지구화학적 특성)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate geochemical characteristics of mine wastes including tailings in various abandoned mines in Korea. Tailings and wastes were sampled in and around 39 metalliferous mines, and analysed heavy metal concentrations including Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn extracted by 0.1N HCl and aqua regia by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. Measurements of paste pH and lime requirement were carried out to examine a general geochemical characteristics of the materials. Lots of mine wastes were characterized by very low pH values of 2 to 4 and high lime requirement to control neutralization of the wastes. In addition, elevated levels of heavy metals were found in various mine wastes extracted by both 0.lN HCl and aqua regia. Because the mine wastes can be dispersed into the downstream by clastic movement and wind-blow, it is necessary to control the materials with a proper method for their reclamation.
