양어장 자동화 시스템의 개발 -1. 모형 수조를 중심으로- (The Development of an Automatic Aquaculture System -1. Using a model tank-)

  • In aquaculture industrial field, an automatic management and control system is needed to cope with the difficulties such as expensive wage, ripe age of management worker and risk according to the unexpected change of environmental conditions in the aquarium. This paper introduces an automatic aquarium monitoring and control system. The system is developed using PC single board computer. A PC can be connected to multi-single hoard computers, and the communication between PC and single board computers is based on RS-422/485 interfacing method. The physical data of pH, DO, temperature and water level etc. are real-timely treated in the single board computer though individual transducers, transfered to the main monitoring PC through RS-422/485 communication, and those data are graphically shown on the PC monitor. Furthermore, the environmental circumstance can be monitored through the image processing system, and the emergency system can be operated under the condition of environmental incident such as electric power stoppage, DO deficiency, pump shut down and low level water etc.

  • 본 연구에서는 광고 조명으로 인한 에너지 소비를 극소화하기 위하여 OF-LED(Optical-Fiber LED)를 이용한 에너지 절약형 광고 조명 시스템에 대하여 연구하였다. 제안한 OF-LED광고 조명 시스템은 에너지 소비가 획기적으로 저감되고 시스템의 소형화가 가능하며, 부조일이 높은 장마철을 제외하고는 태양광 발전만으로 운영하는 큰 장점을 가진다. 태양전지의 출력 특성에 의한 배터리의 최단$\cdot$최적 충전을 위해 정전류$\cdot$정전압 제어법(CCVC)과, IncCond알고리즘을 병행하여 적용하였다 그리고 원칩 마이크로프로세서로 디스플레이 제어와 충 방전제어를 동시에 수행하도록 하였다. 이를 실험을 통하여 제시된 시스템의 유용성을 입증하였다.

마이크로 컨트롤러를 이용한 LED 통신의 선택적 빔 포밍 시스템 구현에 관한 연구 (A study on implementation of beam forming system for LED communication using micro controller)

  • 본 논문에서는 스텝핑 모터와 연동하여 방향 제어되는 LED 빔 포밍 통신 시스템을 HW로 구현하였다. ATMega1284 MCU를 이용하여 제어 보드를 구성하였으며, PC와 연결되는 RS232 IO와 스텝핑 모터 구동 보드 제어용 포트(Port)를 이용하여 외부 인터페이스를 구성하였다. 스텝핑 모터는 200 PWM으로 360도 회전하고 동시에 반경이 커지는 아르키메디스의 소용돌이(Archimedian Spiral) 방식을 적용하여 목표하는 지점을 선택적으로 조명할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 빔 포밍은 RS232와 연결된 PC 툴(tool)에 의해서 제어되며, ATMega1284 MCU 보드가 호스트(host) 역할을 하였다. 빔 포밍의 동작은 실제 구현된 HW/SW 기반으로 그 유용성을 검증하였다.

  • The wild silkworm, Antheraea mylitta Drury (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) is a polyphagous silk producing insect that feeds on Terminalia arjuna, T. tomentosa and Shorea robusta and is distributed in the forest belts in different states of India. Phenotypically distinct populations of the A. mylitta are called "eco-race" or "ecotypes". Genetic improvement of this wild silkworm has not progressed much due to lack of adequate information on the factors that control the expression of most of the economically important traits. Considering the amazing technological advances taking place in molecular biology, it is envisaged that it is now possible to take greater control on these intractable traits if a combination of genetic, molecular and bioinformatics tools are used. Linkage disequilibrium (LD) mapping is one such approach that has extensively been used in both animal and plant system to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for a number of economically important traits. LD mapping has a number of advantages over conventional biparental linkage mapping. Therefore, LD mapping is considered more efficient for gene discovery to meet the challenge of connecting sequence diversity with heritable phenotypic differences. However, care must be taken to avoid detection of spurious associations which may occur due to population structure and variety interrelationships. In this review, we discuss how LD mapping is suitable for the dissection of complex traits in wild silkworms (Antheraea mylitta).

  • RCCL(Robot Control C Library) is general purpose robot control language. It is programmed with C language and composed of C library. So it is well portable and supports sensor integration control and high level force control algorithms. We implemented RCCL on PUMA. We developed servo controller of DDC(Direct Digital Control). We used intel 8097BH one chip micro controller as CPU. One digital servo board controls three motors. Host computer is IBM PC 386DX-33 with RCCL.

An Integrated Approach in the Pest Management in Sericulture

  • The success of sericulture industry in India is mainly attributed to the well-planned annual sericultural activity and the systematic implementation of pest preventive and control measures. The insect spectrum of silkworm and its food plants is complex and plays a major role in limiting the production of silk. Insects cause extensive damage to plant whereas predators and parasites either kill the silkworm larvae or force them to spin flimsy cocoons. Unilateral control measure against this pest is mainly based on the use of synthetic organic insecticides. Though these approaches initially paid rich dividends, the undesirable consequences soon surfaced. Insecticide induced resurgence of gall midges, leafhopper, leaf roller, secondary pest out breaks and development of pest biotypes has led to realization of Integrated Pest Management in sericulture. Various components of IPM, viz. Host plant resistance, cultural practices, biological control, chemical control and integrating them at various technological levels have been studied. Sources of host plant resistance have been identified for some of the major insect pests. High yielding mulberry variety has been propagated and their resistances towards major pests have been recorded. Cultural practices like pruning, pollarding, judicious use of nitrogen, optimum spacing and weed management have preyed to be the powerful tools in containing pests. Natural control over the pest population build- up exerted by the wide range of parasitoids, predators and pathogens has been well documented with identification of natural enemies and studies on their potential. Augmentation, through inoculation or inundative releases of parasitic arthropods, is the most direct way of increasing the numbers of these beneficials in sericulture.

  • The railway developed countries in Europe, Japan such as ERTMS Regional, FFB, COMBAT, it is the stage of development or testing the train control system for the signal system of branch interval of low density. Similar to the signal system used by the mainline and branch sections of low density domestic portions not suitable in terms of maintenance operational efficiency in accordance with the installation and operation in many cases. Therefore these low-density branch railway lines required that oriented train control system of wireless communication to improve the operation efficiency and line side equipment controlled on board the train. In this paper, We was published a route on setting is the operation of the new on-board oriented train control system for controlling a line converter of the train so that it is possible to improve the operational efficiency of the branch of the low density.

  • Propellant consumption control for space launch vehicle can be achieved by propellant utilization system (PUS) and tank depletion system (TDS). In the course of developing new space launch vehicles, the main target of design is on reducing of space launch vehicle weight, which results in increasing both specific impulse and payload weight. The weights of space launch vehicles are generally allocated to structure, propulsion system, and propellants loaded. The quantity of propellants filled in propellant tanks may be estimated with the propellants actually consumed by propulsion system to complete its mission and the propellants left on-board at the time of engine shut-off. To minimize the remaining quantity of propellants on-board the supplying propellants' O/F ratio should be controlled from the certain time before engine shutdown. To control an O/F ratio, a control system, which accurately measures and compares the remainder of propellants in tanks and pipes, should be needed. This paper solely dedicates its contents to explore the merits and demerits of various level sensor, which is one of the important elements for PUS and TDS, and the transmission and control of signals within space launch vehicle.

일본 구급구명사의 양성 및 업무에 관한 고찰 (Training and role of paramedics in Japan)

  • Purpose: The emergency medical service (EMS) system in Japan is similar to that in Korea. This study reviewed the development of paramedics who are major personnel in the respective EMS system of their country. Methods: We searched law for paramedics and publications in J-stage, MEDLINE and the webpage of Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency. Results: Paramedic training had started in Japan in 1991, and most paramedics were employed in fire departments. In Japan, ambulances belonging to fire department are staffed by a three-person unit, including at least one paramedic. Medical control advisory boards were established in all Japanese prefectures in 2003 with the purpose of upgrading the activities of ambulance personnel, including paramedics. The scope of paramedics' work has been widened owing to the continued efforts of medical control advisory boards. This allows them to perform invasive procedures including tracheal intubation, intravenous line placement, and epinephrine administration under medical control of a physician. Conclusion: As paramedics' responsibilities expand, further development of the paramedic role and an effective medical control advisory board system are imperative both Korea and Japan.

선박 상부구조 진동 저감을 위한 능동형 제어장치의 실용화 연구 (A Study on the Practical Use of an Active Control System to Reduce Ship Superstructure Vibration)

  • Active control is regarded as one of the most efficient and economic countermeasures to reduce excessive vibration of ship superstructure. However, it is difficult to find its practical application in real ships in spite that many studies on such systems have been done. In this study, for the practical use of an active control system to reduce ship superstructure vibration, we have developed an active vibration compensator consisting of a mechanical actuator having compact size and expected lifetime over 20 years, its control panel including exclusive signal processing and computing board, sensors to detect phase and vibration, and its operation software providing various user-interface functions. From the performance verification test of the system at a 5,500 TEU container carrier, we have confirmed the system could reduce ship superstructure vibration of a harmonic component of main engine rotating frequency up to 0.1 mm/s.
